Chapter 350 Mysterious Ritual

The other side.

Elder Jacob knocked gently on the door of "Remheb".

He stood outside the door and paused for a moment until he heard the "cough cough cough" sound and knew that "Remheb" was awake, then he spoke.

"Sir, I will go out with the soldiers tonight to get some spring water and food, and will be back tomorrow."

"Lord Remheb, please take a good rest today."

"To ensure your safety, I have assigned you some additional soldiers."

At this time, several heavy coughs were heard from inside the door.

Then, a hoarse voice came out from inside: "I want to rest. This illness has really caused trouble for the elders."

Elder Jacob was standing outside the door. Hearing this, he just nodded slightly and responded in a gentle voice: "It's okay, sir, just rest assured."

He paused, as if he had thought of something, and then said, "If you need anything, just tell the people outside the door, and they will arrange it for you as soon as possible."

The voice inside the door replied hoarsely: "Thank you for your concern, Elder. I just hope I can have a good sleep and recover soon."

When the elder heard this, he put his head close to the crack of the door and said, "That's great. If you can rest well, I will be relieved."

"When I return tomorrow, I will bring you some cool, refreshing spring water that may help you recover."

He stopped talking and stood quietly outside the door, as if waiting for the other party to speak again.

But there were only bursts of coughing coming from inside the door, and then no more sound.

After a while, the elder turned around and looked at the two soldiers standing outside the door.

He looked at the two men, and then whispered, "Put something to help you sleep in Lord Remheb's food tonight. If he wants to go out, be sure to send someone to report to me immediately."

"There is an important ceremony today. If he tries to force his way in, you know what to do."

After listening to this, the two soldiers nodded in unison.

One of the soldiers lowered his voice and said, "Yes, elder. We will do as you command."

Another soldier hesitated for a moment, then lowered his voice and asked, "But if the Lord asks about the difference in diet, how should we respond?"

The elder thought for a moment and put his mouth close to his ear: "You can say that you followed my orders and added some beneficial herbs."

"If he has any doubts, he can tell them that I personally told him to do so, in order to help him sleep peacefully."

"If he's long-winded, you just..."

At this time, the elder made a gesture of cutting the neck.

The first soldier whispered, "The elder has thought it through. We understand. However, the elder should not be suspicious."

"If we have any doubts, we will do as you say."

After hearing this, the elder finally nodded in satisfaction: "That's exactly what I mean."

He looked at the second soldier and asked again, "So, if the master wakes up in the middle of the night and wants to push the door open to leave, what will you two do?"

The second soldier immediately replied: "If the lord makes such a move, we will first dissuade him and ask him to go back to his room to rest. At the same time, we will send someone to report to the elders without delay."

"If you still want to force your way in, we will..."

After hearing this, the elder closed his eyes and nodded to take the lead. At least the two soldiers finally understood what he wanted to express.

"Okay, but you have to be careful with the amount of sleep aids you use. Don't make them too concentrated. Otherwise, if the adults notice that the taste has changed too much, it will cause trouble."

"Unless there are special circumstances, it's best to keep him alive."

The first soldier just smiled evilly and said, "Don't worry, elder. I will carefully consider it and make sure you sleep well."

"I guard the first half of the night, and he guards the second half. We take turns to guard, and there will be no negligence."

The second soldier agreed, "Yes! Please rest assured, Elder. The two of us will guard the gate diligently and complete the mission you have assigned to us."

After hearing this, Elder Jacob said calmly, "That's good. Since you two understand what I mean, just do it."

He turned around and prepared to leave, took a few steps, and then looked back at the closed wooden door.

The coughing sound from inside the door had stopped long ago, and the room was very quiet.

He paused for a while before taking a step and slowly walking away.

Two soldiers stood there, one on the left side of the door and the other on the right side.

They didn't say anything, but just watched quietly, looking inside through the crack in the door from time to time.

There doesn't seem to be anything unusual.

They just looked at each other and continued to guard the door.

“Ahem…”

"Cough, cough, cough! Cough, cough, cough!"

......

On the other side, Nan Tong and Remheb walked towards the sand dunes outside the city, preparing to sneak into the mysterious ceremony that the old man mentioned.

It is said that those who are able to attend are all important figures in this organization.

So, they changed into gray-black robes as the old man said.

As for Nan Tong, he carved a snake-shaped mark on Remheb and his chest respectively.

This mark was not really carved with a sharp object. It was a one-to-one mark made by Nan Tong using magic according to the old man's description, which was enough to deceive the people here.

Of course, if one wants to identify that this sign is magic, only a magician of a higher level than Nan Tong can do it.

When they reached the entrance to the dunes, they saw several guards blocking their way.

Those people whispered, "Show the mark."

Remheb lifted a corner of his robe, revealing the snake-shaped mark on his chest, and Nantong did the same.

The guard checked carefully, nodded, and let them in.

As he walked deeper into the sand dunes, Remheb couldn't help but hold his breath.
