Chapter 539 Compassion

Elisha then leaned forward.

He held his breath and slowly raised his head.

It was not what Elisha expected.

That's not some robber.

Rather, a doe.

It was lying on its side in the open space, its right hind leg entangled in thorns.

There was also a deep wound, from which blood was slowly oozing out.

Its eyes are large, with black pupils that take up about three-quarters of the eye sockets.

Its eyes were filled with fear and its abdomen was heaving violently.

Elisha saw that he was not a robber, so he simply stood up.

"Shh, don't be afraid."

Elisha slowly approached, and he couldn't help but take a deep breath.

Because he had never seen a deer so close before.

Its fur shone slightly in the morning light and was more beautiful than the silk the patriarch brought back from Jerusalem.

The doe struggled to stand up, but her injured leg caused her to fall back.

Elisha noticed that its udders were swollen, indicating that it was a lactating doe and that there must be a fawn waiting for it nearby.

"I will help you."

“God teaches us to do more than just love people.”

"More importantly, love everything around you."

Elisha spoke softly, taking a knife from his belt and carefully cutting through the thorns that were wrapped around its hind legs.

The doe's body trembled, but she did not resist.

When the last thorn was removed, Elisha tore off a corner of his linen coat and clumsily bandaged the wound.

Apparently, that wasn't enough to help it out of danger.

"You have to come back to the village with me."

"My mother knows how to treat wounds."

"But! Please wait here for a while!"

Elisha suddenly ran away at this time.

The two men in black robes were watching quietly from a distance.

That is Lin Ke and Nan Tong.

Ramses also wanted to come along, but Lin Ke felt that it would not be convenient for Ramses to show his appearance to others.

He just felt that it was possible to scare the villagers to death.

“It’s really rare.”

“In the Hebrew Empire, there is such a kind scene.”

"Just like our children in Holy Egypt."

Lin Ke showed no expression when he heard Nan Tong's words.

He looked at the slightly messy linen wrapped around the wound and was just slightly thoughtful.

"Children from all over the world are similar, Nan Tong."

"They are only influenced by their beliefs and the people around them."

"Whatever kind of people he surrounds himself with, he will most likely become the average of those around him."

"But this seems to be a place far away from the war."

"We hardly saw even a single Hebrew Empire soldier along the way."

When Nan Tong heard Lin Ke's words, he just nodded in agreement.

"Yes, Your Majesty the Holy Pharaoh."

"A small number of soldiers guarding the fortress city should have managed to escape."

“Perhaps they did not send any troops to stop them because of the terrain.”

“There is no terrain that can be used here.”

"Or maybe, they are afraid of you, His Majesty the Holy Pharaoh."

"They must have known that you have returned to the Holy Egyptian Alliance from the underworld."

"I'm afraid they have already concentrated all the empire's military forces in Jerusalem."

Lin Ke nodded slightly.

In any case, it’s a good thing that we didn’t encounter the enemy.

However, this made Lin Ke feel that it was a little abnormal.

After all, he still didn't understand the cause of Joshua's death.

Why on earth did they insist on killing Joshua?

Do you want to drain his blood?

Lin Ke felt that these questions might only be answered after going deep into the heart of the Hebrew Empire.

Now, he planned to find out some information about water sources in this village.

Then he returned to the station of the Holy Egyptian Alliance army.

"Your Majesty the Holy Pharaoh, what should we do now?"

"It seems that the Hebrew boy has gone far away."

“His flocks are gone too.”

"It seems that the people of the Hebrew Empire are not as kind-hearted as the children of Holy Egypt."

"However, being able to do such a good deed, in a place like theirs, he is considered an extremely outstanding person."

When Lin Ke heard Nan Tong's words, he just raised the corner of his mouth slightly.

"We're not going anywhere right now."

"He will come back again."

Nan Tong turned his head slightly, he was a little confused.

But he could not see the expression of His Majesty the Holy Pharaoh, just as he could not touch the unfathomable wisdom of His Majesty the Holy Pharaoh.

Lin Ke didn't need to turn her head to know what Nan Tong's expression was just by listening to his words.

"Yes, Your Majesty the Holy Pharaoh."

......

After driving the sheep back to the pasture near the village, Elisha quickly returned.

He didn't even bother to pay attention to his parents who were chasing after him, asking him why he had driven the sheep back so early today.

“Haha ...

"I knew it...you're still here waiting for me..."

Elisha panted and looked at the doe with a sunny smile.

The doe stamped its legs a few times, seeming to still be a little afraid of Elisha.

But Elisha did not think about why the doe did not leave.

He simply made a simple stretcher out of branches and vines, and then took great pains to move the doe onto it.
