Chapter 55 "Magic doesn't work!"

Nan Tong led the mages and [Masters of Heka] and moved forward cautiously.

As the dawn breaks, the outer city of Memphis is faintly visible in the distance, and closer, huge sand dunes stand on both sides like natural barriers, silent in the wind.

Although the front seemed calm, Nan Tong's gaze remained behind a sand dune.

His eyes penetrated the sand and saw the black-armored magic shield soldiers hiding behind.

These magic shield soldiers were lying in ambush silently, and Nan Tong could understand their intentions without having to guess.

That is to destroy all these mages, leaving no one behind.

However, their encirclement was very close, and even if Nan Tong stood on tiptoe and raised his neck slightly, he might be able to see the light reflected from the opponent's black armor in the sun.

But Nan Tong just continued to pretend not to know and kept moving forward.

In his mind, he recalled what Lin Ke had said.

"If the enemy uses radical methods to besiege us, it must be because their hatred for the mage is unstoppable."

"At that time, all their tactical moves will be directed at you, aiming to annihilate you completely."

"Although it's dangerous, this is precisely our chance to wipe out the enemy in one fell swoop."

And everything was just as Lin Ke said, the enemy used overly radical means when deploying their defenses, which was a reflection of their extreme hatred for the "Mage" in their hearts.

Nan Tong narrowed his eyes slightly and estimated the distance between himself and the sand dune on the left in his mind.

He pointed his finger at the map and said in a voice that only he could hear: "An extremely radical encirclement method... It is indeed the same as what Saint Pharaoh said."

Nan Tong remained the same as always, with a calm expression.

He couldn't let the enemy see any clues, even though he already knew that the enemy's Magic Shield Corps had surrounded them.

So he took the lead and led the mages straight to the last base outside Memphis.

From a distance, the arrow towers and archers at the Hebrew garrison discovered their presence.

"Enemy! It's the enemy!"

"It's Master Heka! And that old man!"

"Don't let them get to you! Shoot!"

Amid the shouts and cries, arrows flew through the air, leaving whistling trails in the sky and heading straight towards Nantong.

However, Nan Tong just waved his hand lightly, and the shield formed by sand and dust rose up instantly, easily resolving these attacks.

He continued to move forward slowly and leisurely, as if he was walking on a stage, relaxed and at ease.

"Call for support!" the archers on the base shouted loudly, "Call for support quickly!" The sound of bowstrings continued, mixed with panicked shouts.

Nan Tong raised the corners of his mouth slightly. He could see that these Hebrews were also acting.

Those black-armored magic shield soldiers have already surrounded their mages behind the sand dunes on both sides, and they are still calling for reinforcements?

How funny!

The panicked shouts and hurried arrows were ostensibly for defense.

But in fact, what they are doing now is telling Nan Tong that this is just an ordinary base.

If the garrison could speak, it would now shout Nan Tong's name and ask him to come and attack it.

"It's ridiculous. These people actually dare to play such tricks in front of me." Nan Tong snorted coldly.

Since the other party was so "cooperative", he no longer hesitated and slowly gathered the strength in his hands.

He took a deep breath and then rose from the ground.

Nan Tong, floating in the air, was like a god high above, looking down at the Hebrew soldiers stationed in front of him.

He raised his hand, and the sound rolled like thunder, making the Hebrews' eardrums buzz.

"Hebrew rats, your end is here!"

Nan Tong sneered and deliberately said words to provoke the enemy.

Before he finished speaking, he suddenly waved his hand, "All mages, listen to my orders, launch an attack! Drive these outsiders out of our territory!"

In an instant, the sky was filled with flames and desert dust, which swept towards the base like a raging tide.

The spire of the arrow tower was engulfed in flames, and the archers were engulfed by the powerful magical impact before they could even react.

However, amidst the storm of magic, a group of soldiers in black armor slowly walked out from the depths of the garrison.

Their armor was as black as obsidian, with a cold metallic sheen on the surface.

No one shouted loudly, and no one uttered a war cry. They just walked out of the defense line silently, their footsteps were sonorous and powerful, and the desert was trampled with neat "rustling" sounds.

Even in the face of flames and a tide of magic, their steps did not pause at all, as if these spells were just a gentle breeze, and the magicians did not even hear a groan from them.

"What is that?" A magician's voice was filled with undisguised surprise. "Those people were hit by magic and they were fine?"

The continuous bombardment of [Master Heka] also stopped for a moment at this time, and they turned to cast powerful spells at the black-armored soldiers.

However, these black-armored soldiers continued to advance forward motionlessly under the impact of the flames.

Their armor exuded a strange luster, and no matter how the flames exploded and the energy impacted, it only caused their steps to pause slightly, and then they continued to move forward.

"This is impossible!"

The other magician almost blurted out, his eyes widened as he watched his sand magic being bounced away like a wave hitting a rock.

"Even Master Heka's flames are useless against them!"

This statement caused a whisper and uncontrollable commotion in the team.
