Chapter 685 "Punishment for War Madness"

"Ding-ling-dang!"

"Ding-ling-dang!"

......

"Your Majesty, the Holy Pharaoh, La Masia sent someone to report that the Hebrew defenders in the inner city of Jerusalem have surrendered."

Lin Ke had already entered the outer city at this time. He was surrounded by three layers of guards. Even the jackal skeleton of Anubis, the god of death, was circling around Lin Ke, as if he was on guard against something.

At the gate of the outer city, several sarcophagi were neatly placed there.

In the civilization panel, the health bar of the city of Jerusalem has almost reached the bottom.

As long as Lin Ke sends a civilization panel production unit to Jerusalem, the city will be regarded as "occupied" by Holy Egypt.

Of course, Lin Ke didn’t want to “occupy” the city so quickly, because once this action occurred, the nature of the war would immediately change.

First there were the problems within the city, and then there were the external problems facing Holy Egypt.

Because, in Civilization 6, after occupying a city, three options will appear.

First of all, the occupied city will be turned into a "neutral city-state".

This means that after Lin Ke occupies a city in the civilization panel, he can transform it into a "neutral" force.

Take the capital of the Hebrew Empire for example. If it is transformed into a "neutral city-state", it means that it belongs neither to Holy Egypt nor to the Hebrew Empire.

Therefore, it will exist here as a brand new "force".

But in Civilization 6, the so-called "occupation" is not just that, it will also be accompanied by some other effects.

This is because, in Civilization VI, once a civilization starts a war and occupies the cities of other civilizations or kingdoms, other civilizations will have opinions about this.

That's like beating up a few guys on the street and the other "bystanders" commenting on it.

Like supporting, or not expressing an opinion, or condemning that "this is not right."

But in "Civilization 6", if you "occupy" too many cities, other civilizations or kingdoms will regard you as an "invader".

Because they will think that you are expanding your territory, and the expansion of a kingdom will naturally pose a hidden threat to other civilizations.

So, that would trigger "diplomatic punishment."

That would cause other civilizations' attitudes toward Holy Egypt to change, and for the worse.

Even some civilizations that are already "dissatisfied" with Holy Egypt may even directly "declare war" on Holy Egypt.

Not only that, it would also cause many civilizations and kingdoms to refuse to open their borders to Holy Egypt and refuse to trade resources and establish trade routes with it.

The most serious consequence would be that all civilizations would unite and launch an attack on it.

Simply put, it is like swapping the positions of Holy Egypt and the Hebrew Empire.

Holy Egypt will become the "aggressor".

There are different levels of "diplomatic punishment", and the level of "punishment" increases gradually.

Declare war without reason, occupy one city, or even two cities.

Even when burning or destroying cities.

Simply put, occupying too many cities could result in Holy Egypt being condemned or even besieged by many kingdoms and civilizations.

Just like the Hebrew Empire was attacked by many civilizations before.

However, the Hebrew Empire was still very powerful at that time, so the counterattacks of other civilizations were of no concern to it.

But now it's completely different.

As long as Lin Ke occupied the city of Jerusalem, he would most likely, or with a high probability, trigger the "War Mania Penalty".

In Civilization VI, that refers to the diplomatic penalty players incur for frequently waging war.

That would lower Holy Egypt's diplomatic relations with other civilizations, and might even lead other kingdoms and civilizations to declare war on Holy Egypt.

Therefore, Lin Ke did not send any units manufactured by civilization panels into Jerusalem.

Of course, these are only part of the reasons. Another part of the reason is that the Supreme Ruler King has not yet appeared.

That is to say, even if it is occupied, there is still a possibility that fighting will occur.

Not to mention that there is actually a Supreme God existing in Jerusalem.

The Supreme Ruler has not summoned him yet.

"Your Majesty the Holy Pharaoh, something seems to be wrong."

"I have been waiting in the underworld for centuries. I can sense the hidden dangers."

"Although I can sense it, I cannot determine its exact location."

“You have to be more attentive and careful.”

As Anubis, the god of death, spoke, he swung his bony tail a few times.

"I will always be by the side of Saint Pharaoh, don't worry, respected Anubis, the God of Death."

Nan Tong said this, his eyes shining like the corona.

He was using his powerful magical powers to search the corners of darkness.

Obviously, after Lin Ke stepped into Jerusalem, all the warriors and generals of Holy Egypt became nervous.

Even Apep was sucking his tongue in and out, searching the air for scents.

At this moment, several lion snake dogs of different sizes came running over, panting heavily.

The succubus raised her arms and beckoned those scary creatures over as if they were her pets.

"My little ones, what have you discovered?"

The lion snake dog stuck out its tongue and shook it from side to side.

The succubus simply stroked their heads gently, and then gently touched their tongues with her other hand.
