Chapter 789: Ruins Riot

In Jerusalem, the situation began to quickly get out of control.

At first, only a small group of people stopped working.

As emotions grew, more Hebrews were swept up by this fiery common feeling.

More and more Hebrews joined the protest, dropping their tools and starting to shout.

Those angry shouts spread quickly throughout the city like a prairie fire.

"How dare you desecrate our holy land!"

"Kill the infidels! Kill the infidels!"

"Get out, heretics!"

The scattered shouts merged into a deafening and terrifying roar, and they seemed to have completely forgotten that the soldiers of the Holy Egyptian Alliance were right beside them.

A crowd of dozens of Hebrew men even broke through the soldiers' defenses and began to rush towards the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, their faces filled with fanaticism and anger, and some even picked up stones and sticks, ready to commit violence.

“Stop them!”

"Don't let them pass!"

The Holy Egyptian League soldiers quickly formed a defensive line and tried to stop the angry crowd.

But faced with the influx of Hebrews, they could not immediately organize an effective defense.

Of course, this is because the soldiers of the Holy Egyptian Alliance did not use those deadly weapons, because that would lead to an escalation of the conflict and might eventually turn into a one-sided massacre.

Only, these protesters were not ordinary mobs, but radical Hebrews who took advantage of this sentiment.

They shouted desperately, leading people to madly attack the soldiers' defense line.

"We are willing to sacrifice our lives to defend the Holy Land!"

"They have desecrated our holy land! This is a provocation to us Hebrews!"

The situation became increasingly serious. Some Hebrews broke through the first line of defense and were only a few hundred meters away from the Arabs.

They shouted slogans and threw stones towards the church. Although the distance was too far to hit the church, their actions showed their determination to defend the Church of the Holy Sepulchre at the cost of blood.

The soldiers of Holy Egypt just tried to maintain order: "Keep in formation!"

"Catch them all!"

Some young Holy Egyptian soldiers began to fight back under the attacks of the protesters, but the situation was about to get out of control.

On the other side, the Arabs also noticed the chaos in the distance.

They stopped and looked in horror at the surging crowd in the distance, and the older Arab immediately recognized that it was the voice of the Hebrews.

"They hate us! They are not protesting against the rule of Holy Egypt, but against the desecration of this church by our presence."

"How ridiculous! This was originally our holy land!"

"You are the blasphemers! You are the infidels!"

"Come on! Infidels! God will send down punishment from heaven and drive you out!"

The older Arab said this, picking up stones from the ground.

They had no weapons, but they were not afraid of the Hebrews at all.

"Don't do unnecessary things, put down the stone in your hand!"

"Hurry up and report to His Majesty the Saint Pharaoh! We need support here, there are too many of them!"

But the situation has begun to get out of control.

The Hebrew, who had previously been hostile to Holy Egypt, climbed to the top of a nearby collapsed building and began to raise his voice.

“This is the holy land of us Hebrews!”

"And now, those pagans from the desert dare to step into our holy land! This is the greatest insult to us Hebrews!"

"We must not let them desecrate the Church of the Holy Sepulchre!"

With just a few words, more Hebrews joined the protest.

Some Hebrews who had originally been on the sidelines also began to move.

Some Hebrew militants broke through the second line of defense and were less than a hundred meters away from the church.

Stones and debris flew towards the church like raindrops. Two Arabs fell to the ground in panic, and blood even seeped from their foreheads.

The older Arab now opened his arms, and there was no fear in his voice.

"In the name of our Prophet! We have the right to enter our own holy place!"

"This is a right that cannot be taken away by any force!"

"If you want to stop us, then come on!"

This statement simply added fuel to the fire, which aroused even stronger hostility among the Hebrews.

They saw this as a direct challenge to their religion and their offensive became more fierce.

"Stop yelling! Shut up!"

The Holy Egyptian soldier shouted angrily.

Because they are in a difficult situation at the moment. On the one hand, they have to protect the Arabs, and on the other hand, they have to avoid excessive use of force to intensify the conflict.

Some soldiers began to form a defensive line with shields, trying to escort the Arabs into the church for refuge as quickly as possible.

Others tried to disperse the front-line protesters, but that had little effect.

"This is blasphemy! This is blasphemy! All who take part in this crime be damned!"

On the other hand, Lin Ke did not immediately intervene in the riot.

He just narrowed his eyes slightly, revealing an expression of "as expected".

This conflict between beliefs is not the same as a war. Everyone seems to be completely overwhelmed by a fanatical emotion and cannot take care of themselves at all.

It can even be said that at this moment, they have reached a state where they do not know what heaven and earth are.

He stood on a high place, calmly observing the development of the situation, and soon his attention was attracted by some unusual behavior of some of the Hebrews.

He found that among the angry protesters, a small group was particularly radical.

Not only did they shout the most violent slogans, they also took the initiative to plan attacks and incite others to join the riots.

More importantly, their speeches are full of obvious xenophobia and extreme religious views, which are fundamentally different from the positions of most protesters.

Those were all words like "kill" and "clear out", which had completely different meanings from adjectives like "expel" and "drive away".

So he made a quick decision, and several loyal guards received the order and left quietly. They were going to carry out a special mission.

Twenty minutes later, the riot was still going on, but changes were beginning to appear.

At the edge of the crowd, several Holy Egyptian soldiers disguised as ordinary Hebrews began to deliberately approach the extremists.

They blended skillfully into the crowd and stood shoulder to shoulder with those who were most emotional.

One of the Holy Egyptian soldiers even whispered to the extremists around him.

"We cannot allow pagans to desecrate holy places!"

"That's not enough! We are true warriors of the Hebrew Empire, and we must take action!"

"We have to defend the holy land! Are you ready?"

"Let us become real warriors at this moment!"

With that, he handed the radical Hebrew a sharp weapon.
