"Because no one can defeat me."
The leading extremist waved his weapon triumphantly, looking as if he was sure of victory.
The other accomplices followed suit, bursting into strange laughter.
"You don't know me, do you?"
He took a few steps forward with a haughty air.
"Look at this face and think about it carefully."
The captain of the guard remained silent, his face still expressionless.
Obviously, he didn't care about the identity of the person in front of him.
But the Hebrews around them began to whisper.
An elderly Hebrew man stared at the extremist in surprise: "Oh! Wait!"
"That's not it! Isn't that Elias?"
"Elias ben Moses?"
The other one seemed to not believe what he saw: "Is it him? The best centurion in the empire?"
When the name was whispered by several Hebrews, more and more people began to raise their voices.
"Really? I remember his name!"
"It's him! When I was young, I saw him compete in the arena! No one could beat him!"
"That's right! My father said that one-third of the empire's elite troops were trained by him!"
Those ordinary Hebrews began to look at this ragged extremist with awe. Obviously, his identity was far beyond people's expectations.
No one would have thought that the once glorious warrior would become like this.
Some people even stepped back, as if they dared not to look directly at the legendary figure's current appearance.
"Do you remember it now?"
Elias is pleased with the reaction his fame has elicited.
"When I was in the Imperial Army, I could kill dozens of enemy soldiers by myself."
"Even for me now, it's definitely not something that an ordinary person can handle."
He even looked around arrogantly: "Little pawns of the Holy Egyptian Alliance!"
"Did you know that I personally trained five hundred elite warriors whose skills are unmatched in the entire Near East!"
"Today, I will show you what real fighting skills are!"
He assumed a fighting stance, and his movements certainly revealed the professionalism of years of martial arts training.
Several Holy Egyptian soldiers unconsciously tensed up and tightened their weapons.
“Stand back!”
A soldier whispered to his companion: "He is not an ordinary man!"
Elias' voice was full of pride and contempt. The fear just now seemed to have completely disappeared. "I tell you, in front of me, you are all worthless!"
"Even the great generals of the empire would bow in salute when they hear my name!"
Among the Hebrews who were watching, more and more people began to talk, and they began to tell various rumors about the former centurion.
About how he single-handedly repelled an enemy squad, and how he climbed the enemy's city wall with his bare hands to complete a reconnaissance mission.
It is difficult to tell whether these stories are true or false, but the atmosphere on the scene has been completely aroused.
Elias enjoyed the attention, his attitude becoming more arrogant, and he even began to look around at the Holy Egyptian soldiers with disdain.
He waved at the captain of the guard with disdain: "Come on!"
"Show me what you Holy Egypt guards are capable of."
The captain of the guard remained silent, but his actions were a response.
He slowly drew out the dagger from his waist, and the sound of metal being unsheathed was particularly clear.
"You were the one who taught that great general of the Hebrew Empire, right?"
Elias just frowned slightly when he heard this: "Who are you talking about?"
"Oh - you're talking about the general who was killed by the Holy Pharaoh in the City of the Sun."
"Yes, she is also one of my teachers."
"She is a genius, extremely gifted! It's a pity that she chose to attack your Holy Pharaoh."
"Otherwise, maybe you can still see her here."
After saying this, Elias raised his weapon and glanced at the Holy Egyptian guards.
The number of the other side is far greater than theirs.
"You plan to win by numbers? Is this your tactic, the Holy Egyptians?"
"A true warrior never relies on the advantage of numbers! One-on-one is the real duel!"
The captain of the guard ignored his provocation and just stood there expressionlessly.
There was nothing aggressive about his posture, he even looked relaxed.
It was as if the person standing in front of him was not a famous centurion, but just an insignificant pawn.
The captain of the guard finally spoke, but his voice was as flat as water.
"You guys come together."
"I don't want to keep His Majesty the Holy Pharaoh waiting too long."
When Elias heard this, he just laughed: "Haha! You are courting death!"
However, the captain of the guard ignored his words and just glanced at all the extremists.
"But this is your last chance."
"As long as you step back, I can consider sparing your lives."
"But if you take one more step forward, you will become the enemy of Holy Egypt."
These words caused laughter among the extremists.
A thin extremist sneered, "Listen! Listen!"
"What does he think he is? God?"
Amidst the laughter, Elias made a gesture, and all the extremists began to slowly approach the captain of the guard.
They spread out and tried to form a siege.
But the captain of the guard still did not take any additional action.
"Kill him!"
