Chapter 813 Welcome Ceremony

"Your Majesty Saladin, the Holy Egyptian Alliance welcomes you."

"His Majesty the Holy Pharaoh asked me to wait here."

"On behalf of His Majesty the Holy Pharaoh, I welcome you here again."

Nan Tong stood at the door. He did not use any magic wand or crocodile bone. He just raised his hand slightly and a huge desert tunnel was created.

A desert tunnel that can accommodate hundreds of people moving at the same time.

Obviously, this is not some offensive magic. Strictly speaking, it is more like a magical show of skill.

Of course, this is also a welcoming ceremony of the highest standards from Holy Egypt.

After all, not every guest can be personally greeted by the great sun magician.

“This! What is this?!”

The Mamluk cavalrymen widened their eyes, while Saladin's magicians immediately opened their mouths.

"This magic! Powerful magic!"

"He has far surpassed the Ultimate Magician!"

When Malacia heard this, she just smiled and turned her head.

"Yes, this is the welcoming ceremony that His Majesty the Saint Pharaoh specially asked Lord Nantong to hold."

"Lord Nantong is the Great Sun Magician of Holy Egypt."

After hearing this, the magicians held their heads like crazy. After all, in the eyes of ordinary magicians, being able to become an ultimate magician is already a pinnacle of ability.

Not to mention someone like Nan Tong, the Great Sun Magician.

Even Saladin's eyes widened slightly, and he nodded slightly towards Nan Tong.

Nan Tong bowed again, and every tiny movement of his showed his importance to this guest.

Saladin drove along the wide streets towards the center of Jerusalem, and what he saw along the way made them slow down.

The Mamluk cavalry were stunned, and many of them stood up straight on their mounts.

One Mamluk whispered, "God is above!"

“Jerusalem, how did it become like this!”

"Look, father! That's our church!"

"That's the pagan church over there!"

As soon as these words were spoken, another Mamluk cavalryman hit the speaker's head hard, reminding him not to speak nonsense.

At this moment, Saladin did not pay attention to the cavalry's words.

Because, like them, he was also shocked by the scene before him.

“The Jerusalem I remember is not like this.”

“But I didn’t expect that the rebuilt Jerusalem would be so spectacular.”

The buildings and dilapidated streets he remembered were long gone.

In their place are smooth stone roads, newly built walls and brand new houses.

What surprised him even more was that the stalls on both sides of the street were filled with all kinds of fruits, spices and handicrafts, the vendors’ shouts could be heard one after another, and there was a prosperous scene everywhere.

Not only that, people with completely different beliefs can actually coexist harmoniously here.

Saladin looked on and just shook his head in admiration.

"Master Marasia, there are so many buildings of different styles in Jerusalem."

When Malacia heard this, there was a hint of pride in her tone of response.

“His Majesty the Holy Pharaoh intentionally preserved and restored the features of the original building while incorporating new religious designs.”

"This is something that only a king like His Majesty the Saint Pharaoh can consider."

Saladin nodded: "Very innovative."

His eyes never left the buildings that integrated various cultural elements.

"You know, in our country, buildings of other religions are usually not allowed to exist."

“However, Saint Pharaoh’s philosophy also has something in common with my own.”

"What I hope is that all of the Arab world can unite."

"Let go of different beliefs and prejudices."

"Your holy pharaoh has a much higher vision."

Maracia responded: "Yes, Your Majesty Saladin."

"His Majesty the Holy Pharaoh said that every culture is respected."

“So, people love him because he treats everyone equally and lovingly.”

They passed by a fountain square where several old men in different clothes were sitting by the fountain playing chess.

When they saw Saladin's team, they just nodded in greeting and did not show any panic.

"They're not afraid of the soldiers?"

one Mamluk asked in surprise.

When Marasia heard this, she simply asked, “Why should we be afraid?”

"In their view, soldiers are there to protect the city."

Saladin responded calmly: "In our land, soldiers entering the city means taxation and control, and residents will naturally feel uneasy."

"I want to meet that holy Pharaoh more and more."

An old man in the city heard this conversation, bowed, looked up at Saladin and said, "You must be His Majesty Saladin, right?"

"I heard that you are kind and generous, and never do violence to civilians."

Saladin nodded and said: "This is Allah's teaching to us."

“Treat others as you would like to be treated yourself.”

The old man smiled and responded: "So does His Majesty the Holy Pharaoh."

"He said that different beliefs can be like flowers in a garden, each blooming and complementing the other."

Saladin was quite interested in this analogy: "Well said, are you satisfied with the governance of the Holy Pharaoh?"

The old man answered without hesitation: "Very satisfied!"

"He allowed us to have a place to stay here, and now we have enough food and drink every day."

Similar conversations continued between the Mamluk cavalry and other residents.

After walking through a few blocks, they came to an ornately decorated arch.

The lintel is engraved in two languages, Egyptian hieroglyphics and Arabic, and the content is the same: "The Gate to Peace."

Marasia explained: "His Majesty the Holy Pharaoh has made special preparations for your visit. Have you seen these decorations, His Majesty Saladin?"

Saladin noticed that the arches were flanked by intricately woven silk tapestries featuring desert oases, palm trees, and arabesque geometric patterns.

The floor is covered with carpets from Cairo, and the air smells faintly of spices.

Saladin shook his head in amazement: "The Holy Pharaoh is really attentive, he is indeed different."

Passing through the gate, they entered an open inner courtyard.

In the center is a huge circular pool with clear water and colorful flowers dotted around it.

At the edge of the pool, several believers in white robes were discussing in low voices.

"Who are those people?"

Saladin asked curiously.

"A follower of the Link religion."

Marasia replied.

"Link religion?"

Saladin frowned slightly. "Is it the new sect that only accepts a hundred believers a day?"

Marasia nodded.
