Chapter 901: Generous Gift

After the Persian envoys left, the palace became temporarily quiet.

Kamul walked slowly to Lin Ke and bowed respectfully.

"Your Majesty the Holy Pharaoh's response today was perfect!"

Kamul praised: "You have perfectly resolved the urgent demands of the Persians, maintaining diplomatic etiquette while safeguarding the interests of Holy Egypt!"

"Forgive me for being blunt, but returning the Sword of Truth to Persia would be like letting a tiger return to its homeland."

"Having that sword in the hands of the ambitious Nadir Shah would only exacerbate the situation."

"Nadir Shah is very warlike. If he wins the war with the Greek Federation, I'm afraid they will turn their attention to our continent."

"In my opinion, the best strategy is to temporarily leave the Sword of Truth in Holy Egypt."

"As long as we don't actively activate its power, it won't have any negative impact on us and can even serve as a deterrent."

After hearing what Kamul said, Lin Ke nodded with satisfaction.

"Your suggestion coincides with my thoughts. This sword should not be returned lightly."

"By the way, are there any other important envoys that need to be met?"

Kamul immediately responded, "Your Majesty the Holy Pharaoh, and the Arab envoys. As for the rest, they are tribal leaders and local city lords."

Upon hearing this, Lin Ke replied without hesitation: "Please make arrangements and give the Arab representatives priority."

"As for the tribal leaders and local officials, just leave them at the banquet."

Kamul bowed, and then he told Lin Ke that the Arab envoys brought those gifts.

"According to the list, the gifts are numerous and quite valuable."

"It included three hundred pounds of fine beans, one hundred bottles of the best olive oil, fifty rolls of silk, thirty Red Sea pearls, and a jeweled scimitar said to have been used by Saladin himself."

"I have already prepared corresponding return gifts, including ten kilograms of selected cocoa beans, sufficient food and fodder, and a batch of light weapons suitable for use in desert environments."

Lin Ke nodded with satisfaction: "Okay, I'll do as you arrange."

After a while, the Arab envoys entered the hall led by court attendants.

Unlike the gorgeous attire of the Persian envoys, these Arabs wore simple but elegant white robes, a camel leather belt around their waists, and a red checkered turban on their heads, secured with a black belt.

The leader was a thin middle-aged man with a neatly trimmed beard.

When he saw Lin Ke, the leader of the delegation bowed deeply.

"Your Majesty, the Great Holy Pharaoh, we are here on our father's orders to pay you our highest respects."

He spread his arms and performed a traditional Arab gesture: "May His Majesty the Holy Pharaoh be like the palm trees in the Fayoum Oasis, flourishing and protecting the four directions!"

Lin Ke smiled and said, "Welcome. Please give my regards to your father."

"I wonder how Saladin is doing these days?"

Ali's expression was slightly gloomy. "Thank you, Your Majesty the Holy Pharaoh, for your concern."

"'Father' Saladin is doing well. However, civil unrest has recently broken out in Arabia, and he has been forced to personally quell the unrest. I am deeply regretful that I cannot personally congratulate His Majesty the Holy Pharaoh."

He carefully took out a sealed parchment scroll from his bosom: "This is a letter written by Lord Saladin to Your Majesty."

Lin Ke took the letter and handed it to the clerk Remheb for safekeeping.

"Please tell Saladin that I am deeply concerned about the fate of the Arab people. If I have the opportunity, I would like to go to Damascus in person to talk with Saladin."

The other party's eyes lit up when he heard this. "Your Majesty, Holy Pharaoh, is merciful! 'Father' often tells us about the time he spent with you in Jerusalem. Those were the proudest years of his life."

When Lin Ke heard this, he felt as if a warm current surged in his heart.

He also has a vivid memory of that time.

During the conversation, the servants had already displayed the gifts brought by Arabia on one side of the hall.

The dazzling array of treasures sparkled in the candlelight, especially a scimitar hanging on a special stand, with a scabbard inlaid with gold and jade and a handle made of rhinoceros horn.

Just one look at it and you'll know how precious it is.

"That scimitar was acquired by 'Father' from a Persian merchant when he was young."

The other party explained: "He often said that this knife should belong to someone who truly understands the meaning of war."

"In his heart, His Majesty the Holy Pharaoh is undoubtedly the most outstanding strategic master in the world today."

After hearing this, Lin Ke just raised his hand slightly, and the corners of his mouth couldn't help but curl up.

"Saladin is too kind. Please tell him that I value his friendship and this generous gift."

"Also, Kamul will prepare corresponding rewards for you. Also, tell Saladin that if there is anything you need from Holy Egypt, feel free to ask."

Upon hearing this, the envoy simply kowtowed deeply.

"Thank you, Holy Pharaoh, for your generosity!"

"If His Majesty the Holy Pharaoh could come to Arabia in person, we would certainly prepare the highest level of welcome ceremony for you!"

After seeing off the Arab envoys, Lin Ke returned to the inner room alone.

He carefully opened the letter Saladin had sent him.

"Your Majesty, the Holy Pharaoh."

“As you read this, I am in a distant desert, watching the same starry sky pour down as it did that night in Jerusalem.”

“The days of Jerusalem are always as vivid as yesterday.”

“I often gaze out the window at the palm trees that bend but don’t break in the strong winds.”

"I think this is our destiny too."
