Chapter 93: The Shadow of Cairo

Holy Egypt Night.

In Cairo.

“Ding! Ding!…”

There was a blazing fire in the craftsman's shop, and the sound of hammers hitting each other could be heard one after another.

They are working overtime to create weapons and equipment for the soldiers.

"Stab! Stab! Chop! Chop! ..."

The soldiers did not rest either. They chopped and hacked vertically on the training ground, practicing their attacking techniques.

On the edge of the city, magicians were gathered in a circle, holding crocodile eggshells in their hands, chanting spells in a low voice, and gathering their magic power.

The entire city of Cairo was like a never-stopping machine, preparing for the coming battle.

"Training is over!"

At midnight, the soldiers on the training ground finally finished a day's training and returned to the camp to rest, feeling a little tired.

Although their bodies felt tired, their hearts were full of strength.

At this time, a soldier stopped.

He stared at his hands.

There was a deep wound on his hand, and blood was dripping from his fingertips to the ground, making a "tapping" sound.

"Strange, when did it get cut open?"

The soldier was so focused on training that he didn't realize when a wound appeared on his hand.

He asked the military instructor for permission to leave the team and went to the farther side of the camp alone.

Because only there is medicine, otherwise, such a deep wound may affect tomorrow's training.

He didn't want to fall behind, as he was one of the outstanding soldiers selected to support Atlantis.

One more person means more strength!

So he walked alone in the opposite direction of everyone else.

The night wind was slightly cool at this time, and the light breeze containing sand felt very comfortable blowing on the body.

But he did not indulge in the ease and comfort at this moment, but continued to quicken his pace and move forward.

Until he stepped into an alley-like path, and only by passing through it could he reach his destination.

There is a place near the city wall where soldiers receive medical treatment and where some medicines that can stop bleeding are stored.

However, he did not notice that his shadow was sometimes lengthened and sometimes shortened when he walked in the alley.

Just as he was about to reach his destination, a craftsman suddenly stepped out from the shadows with a package in his hands.

His voice was a little hoarse: "Soldier."

"My son is also in the military camp. Can you bring this to him for me? This is his favorite food."

The soldier stopped and saw the craftsman's face clearly in the moonlight.

An elderly man holding a package in his hands.

"Bring something?"

The soldier looked down at the package, which contained some baked bread stuffed with cheese, and it smelled delicious.

However, the soldier shook his head and said, "Sorry."

"There are rules in the barracks, and the current situation is special, so it is not convenient to bring him in."

The craftsman didn't seem surprised. He nodded and pointed at the soldier's injured hand. "Are you injured? I have some medicine in my shop. Would you like to come over and get it bandaged?"

The soldier hesitated.

His hand was really hurting and he was a little tired.

Besides, it would be faster if there was someone to help bandage the wound.

So he nodded and followed the craftsman into an alley nearby.

The alley was a little dark, and the road could not be seen clearly even in the moonlight. There seemed to be a smell in the air.

But the smell was soon covered by the smell of cheese bread, so the soldier didn't care.

This is Holy Egypt, after all.

Moreover, since His Majesty the Holy Pharaoh became king, there has been no danger in this city.

So, the soldier thought that he was worrying too much.

He followed the craftsman around a few corners and came to a slightly older house.

The craftsman pushed open the door and motioned for the soldier to go in.

The room was dark, with only a dim oil lamp lit in the corner.

As the soldier stepped into the house, he felt his feet slip and almost fell.

He subconsciously reached out to hold onto the wall, but his palm touched a patch of slippery moss.

Cold, sticky moss!

"Oh! How long has it been since you cleaned this room!"

He steadied himself and looked down at his feet. With the dim light, he could see a pool of dark red liquid on the ground.

As a soldier, he immediately sensed a hint of danger.

Following the pool of liquid, his eyes slowly moved upwards.

A dead body!

A corpse with twisted limbs and torn clothes!

And the face of the corpse was exactly the same as the craftsman in front of him!

The soldier took a step back and reached for the weapon at his waist, but it was empty.

“Damn it!”

The weapons are placed in the barracks!

He looked up at the craftsman, only to find that his face was distorted and something seemed to be crawling under his skin.

The next second, the craftsman's body began to swell, his limbs stretched out, and his head turned into a huge elephant head with sharp white fangs and blood-red eyes.

This was the first time the soldiers had seen such a scene.

"You! Who are you!" The soldier's voice trembled. He completely ignored the injury on his hand and took a fighting stance.

The monster with an elephant's head and a human body opened its mouth and made a sound that was neither a smile nor a laugh.

The soldier turned around and tried to escape, but the door was sealed by an invisible force.

"Can anyone hear me? Can anyone hear me?"

He pounded on the door desperately, but to no avail.

The monster was getting closer and closer, and he could feel its breath on the back of his neck.
