Chapter 998: The Bronze Statue of the Holy Pharaoh

“Snap, snap…”

Inside the palace, Prime Minister Kamul walked quickly towards Lin Ke's study, his robe fluttering slightly behind him, his face filled with a rare joy.

"Your Majesty the Holy Pharaoh!"

Kamul bowed deeply, performing the most standard audience etiquette.

"The people of the city are celebrating. Our entire capital is illuminated by the light of the sun god Ra!"

Lin Ke put down the papyrus in his hand, which was a document recording the recent tax situation in various places.

He knew very well that the light of the sun god Ra that Kamul mentioned was nothing more than sunlight.

However, Kamul came in with a beaming face, clearly having some good news to report.

"Why is that? There haven't been any major festivals or news of victories recently."

As Lin Ke spoke, he rolled his eyes slightly. He really couldn't remember anything that made him happy recently.

Could it be that the succubus found the blessed man?

But it shouldn't be Kamul who came to report the news.

"It would be better for His Majesty the Holy Pharaoh to see it with his own eyes."

Kamul raised his head and smiled mysteriously, then took two steps back respectfully.

"Your Majesty the Holy Pharaoh, would you please follow me?"

Lin Ke was a little confused, but still stood up and followed.

"good."

The two men walked through the corridor and crossed the courtyard. Along the way, the guards and servants knelt down and saluted, touching their foreheads to the ground, showing their highest respect for the Holy Pharaoh.

When they reached the main gate of the palace, a deafening cheer came from afar.

Kamul made a gesture and a guard immediately brought a horse.

Lin Ke looked at the snow-white horse, then looked at Kamul.

"Your Majesty, this is the mount I carefully selected for you."

"It is the most beautiful and strong among the thousands of horses. Therefore, I believe that it is the only one worthy of your status."

"Your Majesty, this celebration is unprecedented in scale. I'm afraid only your personal presence can calm the enthusiasm of the people of Cairo."

Lin Ke smiled slightly and climbed onto the horse gracefully.

"I want to see what other surprises you have prepared for me."

The guards immediately formed two rows, ready to escort the Holy Pharaoh to the city center.

"Alright, there's no need for such a grand ceremony. Today doesn't look like a formal occasion, and an overly grand ceremony would be unsightly."

He took only Kamul and six personal guards and rode along the broad avenue towards the center of the city.

Soon after leaving the palace, the festive atmosphere on the streets became more intense.

"Ah! It's His Majesty the Holy Pharaoh!"

"It is our honorable and great Holy Pharaoh!"

An old man saw Lin Ke from afar and immediately knelt on the ground with his hands raised above his head.

The pedestrians around looked in the direction of the sound and recognized the familiar figure on the horse. They stopped and knelt down to pay their respects.

The cheers spread and soon filled the entire street.

"Everyone, please stand."

"I wonder what kind of celebration is this today? Why are you all gathered here?"

Then, an official came forward to explain.

"Your Majesty the Holy Pharaoh, you may not be aware that three days ago, the city's craftsmen worked together to cast a bronze statue of you and placed it in the square in the city center."

"After the news spread, the citizens spontaneously organized this celebration to express their gratitude for your benevolent rule!"

Lin Ke looked to the other side at this time, and he opened his eyes slightly wider.

It was a bronze statue about three stories high. Only after they lifted the curtain did Lin Ke realize that it was a bronze statue.

Around the bronze statue, there are countless flowers and tributes, and countless citizens are burning incense and praying in front of the statue.

The bronze statue wears a double crown, holds a scepter, looks into the distance, and has a calm and solemn expression on his face.

"What?"

“When did you start construction?”

Lin Ke could not hide his surprise. Even as a Holy Pharaoh, he was shocked by this sudden "gift".

He didn't even notice when such a huge statue appeared in the city!

"Return to His Majesty the Holy Pharaoh!"

"This project began during the Harvest Festival. The old minister selected the best copper ore from all over the country, and it took hundreds of skilled casters a month to complete it."

"All processes are carried out strictly according to the traditional methods recorded in ancient texts, in order to create a monument worthy of the name of His Majesty the Holy Pharaoh."

Lin Ke looked at the bronze statue carefully and had to admit that the craftsmanship was perfect.

The statue not only restores his physical features, but under the midday sun, the surface of the bronze statue even has a warm luster, as if it were given life.

"Okay, Kamul, but why didn't you report this massive project to me?"

Kamul knelt down hastily at this moment: "Please forgive me, Your Majesty the Holy Pharaoh!"

"I wanted to give you a surprise. Besides, the design drawings of the bronze statue have long been submitted to the palace for review, but the final use has never been mentioned."

Lin Ke just smiled slightly when he heard this.

"You are quite thoughtful."

“The bronze statue is quite well made.”

He dismounted and walked slowly towards the statue.

Upon closer inspection, he discovered that the base of the statue was engraved with fine hieroglyphics, recording his important achievements and reform measures during his reign, and even quoting several of his past maxims.

However, to Lin Ke, those words seemed a little weird.

After all, in his opinion, those words were just some ordinary words, but people engraved them on the bronze statue as if they were the epitome of wisdom.
