Volume 1 Chapter 356 Goodbye, Iabertos
The red moon shines on the Wadinglan, and the blood-like color is embedded in the ancient and majestic city walls.
The city was riddled with holes from the previous day's war, but a strong magical aura was still emanating from the ground. Fireworks were still burning on the ground, and thin streams of water were still rolling in the vast void, but they were slowly dissipating.
On the city walls, believers in various clothes can be seen, staring into the distance with red and swollen eyes - the battle between gods has ignited their deepest fears. Every night, these mortals always dream of themselves being reduced to ashes under the powerful magic of the gods.
Not to mention mortals, even those powerful humans, their hearts hidden beneath their skin are trembling.
Pope of the Universal Church.
This terrifying guy, who had spent his life creating his own god, was hiding in a dark corner of the Universal Church's base in Wadachiran. He sat on a wooden chair that exuded a rotten smell and was covered in dust, and his old but delicate hand on the handle was trembling slightly.
He didn't know whether it was because he was excited or nervous that his body was out of control.
"Gods, demons, angels, devils, sea creatures, dragons... I want them all!"
The Pope, with red eyes, murmured with trembling lips, looking a little crazy, "The ancestor of mankind, the father of the ocean, and many more terrible guys, one day, I will surpass you!"
As the Pope talked to himself like a madman, a handsome man with ten wings and radiant light walked out of the darkness in front of him and dispelled all the darkness.
The angel-like man knelt on one knee in front of the Pope, raised his head and said respectfully to the Pope in a mechanical voice: "Father, I feel a strong breath coming. It belongs to the breath of the Father of the Ocean that we saw last time..."
"Oceanos, he's here again?" The Pope stood up in surprise, his face full of joy. "Well! Philip, gather all the believers and prepare to meet the enemy!"
As he spoke, he looked at Philip nervously, his hands tightly placed on Philip's shoulders, his eyes red: "Philip, you must be careful to hide yourself, I will give you more flesh and blood of the strong, and one day, you will be stronger than the Father of the Ocean, the Ancestor of Humankind, and even the God King of Heaven!"
The Pope, who knew very little about the heavens, had no idea of the specific strength of the God-King. He didn't even know that Oceanus and Iapetus were already the strongest people in the world.
Philip was equally confused and nodded, "Yes, father!"
Then he stood up straight and walked slowly into the darkness.
It was created from ignorance, and it didn't know why it was called the strange name "Philip". The only thing it knew was that it needed the flesh and blood of the strong, and had the mission given by the Pope to become a truly powerful god.
As he walked out, a loud noise was heard from the sky.
In the ancient city of Wadinglan, the bells rang three times again, each one louder than the last.
Just like the day before yesterday, this was the sound of a truly powerful enemy attacking.
The shield protecting the ancient city of Kawaramachi rose again in the moonlight, and the brown-yellow light illuminated half of the sky.
The red color of the blood moon mixed with the brown and yellow color representing protection makes this late night seem even more gloomy and terrifying.
Iapetus, the ancestor of mankind, transformed into a giant once again and floated into the air, letting out a long sigh.
Looking into the distance, he saw the sky-blue light coming towards Wadinkran, accompanied by the sound of rolling waves. Iapetus knew that the sea creatures had come again.
"Coming so soon?"
Iapetus sighed, looked to the right again, and murmured, "Lord Aether, you always like to hide in the depths and watch others fight. This is not good."
As soon as he finished speaking, he saw a spatial crack appear in the direction Iapetus was looking.
A hundred-meter-long magic boat with dark blue magic runes engraved on it shuttled through space. An old man in a white robe and stroking his long white beard stood at the end of the boat with a slightly embarrassed smile on his face.
Behind him, there is a stunningly beautiful woman with a cold face, a man in a blue helmet, a burly man who looks like a mercenary, and a thief in a tights.
The person in front is, needless to say, the God of Space, Aether.
"Haha, Iabertus, you found me again." Ethel smiled cheerfully, but one could feel his embarrassment. "By the way, Iabertus, you seem to be injured. Do you want me to treat you?"
Changing the subject, Iabertus looked at the humans behind Aether and said with a wry smile, "Sir, do you think you can help?"
"No..." Ethel said cheekily.
The teasing words did not annoy Iapetus. He smiled and said, "Lord Aether, your appearance means that the world has reached an extreme. Is this the message my child is telling you?"
Aether replied: "That's right. Prometheus's prophetic ability is a gift from the world. Of course, it's only a matter of time before the world goes to extremes. You should know that I control space, and all I can do is protect it."
At this point, Aether apologized, "I'm sorry, I can't interfere in your war. What I should do is to retain the last bit of power to protect this world. I can only wait quietly for the end."
Iapetus raised his eyebrows. "I admire your courtesy and humility, and I am glad that there are many people like you in the world."
With Aether's old but shy expression, Iapetus pointed to the humans behind Aether and said, "Wouldn't you like to introduce these humans to me? They have been able to break through the boundaries of race and reach the level of super gods. I guess you must have put a lot of thought into it, right?"
After hearing what Iabertos said, the humans bowed respectfully to him.
"It is an honor to have your attention. My name is Christopher Atwood."
"Marshall." "Gibson." "Maggie."
Four voices rang out.
Iabertos nodded with satisfaction: "Humans are a very good race. Although I am the ancestor of mankind, I only played a role in the creation of mankind. I am glad that you can shoulder the unbearable weight for the future of the world."
The four of them just nodded calmly.
If Lynch were here, he might have spat at him.
He had seen all these guys before, and had even beaten up some of them...emm...even killed them.
"Lord Aether, I have already met the person. I hope you can tell me the truth about your visit." Iapetus asked with a frown.
Aether fell into a long silence.
In the distance, the blue light curtain belonging to the sea clan was getting closer and closer.
The strong sound of waves made the ground shake, as if waves were hitting the sea cliffs.
A strong wind blew and blew Aether's gray hair and beard.
After a long while, Aether said, "I came here to look for people who will participate in the Doomsday War."
The voice suddenly became low.
"Iabertus, this time, you will die."
The expressions of the Ice and Snow Emperor and Maggie behind Ethel changed drastically.
Even though they had not been following Aether for a long time, through his words and deeds, they already knew who Iapetus was—the ancestor of mankind, the first generation of Titans, a truly powerful man who could cover the sky with one hand and cause mountains and rivers to collapse with just a word!
If it weren't for the God of Origin, or those first generation gods taking action, these guys would never have died.
But now, Aether actually said that the ancestor of mankind will die!
Unlike their disbelief, Iabertos seemed to be quite calm when hearing these words.
He smiled faintly and said, "Well, I wish you, Lord Etel, success in finding the person you are looking for."
"Aren't you afraid of death?" Ether's voice was still low, even a little unwilling.
"No."
Iabertus turned his head to the side, looking at the blue light curtain in the distance, and smiled: "Lord Aether, the enemy is coming, you should leave."
"Goodbye, Iabertus."
Ethel shook his head, and the space rift behind the magic boat opened again.
Even until the rift closed, he seemed to be able to see Iapetus's back in the darkness.
He sighed again.
"In fact, the gods know what they are doing. Everyone knows clearly what kind of weight they are carrying, and they carry it forward... that's all."
