Chapter 447 Getting Furious
She immediately tried to forcibly connect to the nearest annihilation array, attempting to manually activate it and interrupt this terrifying outburst.
But it was too late.
The shattered binding array released chaotic energy turbulence, followed closely by the terrifying energy torrent erupting from the living plane.
The two annihilation arrays, which were relatively close to each other and not yet fully activated, were like small boats in a storm. They couldn't even put up a decent resistance before being completely swallowed up and torn apart by the sweeping energy tide, turning into nothingness fragments and dissipated energy.
Viola herself was the first to be affected.
She was closest to the epicenter of the outbreak. Although she was protected by a level six wizard, she was like a leaf in a storm in the face of this shock that seemed to make the entire plane "jump".
The multi-layered, multicolored shields flickered violently as she was violently pushed away by an irresistible surge of energy, tumbling through the void.
As a result, she could only do her best to maintain her defense and steady her body, and was completely unable to control any magic array.
The last remaining annihilation array was fortunate enough to avoid being directly destroyed because it was the furthest away and was partially blocked and absorbed by three other arrays in front of it.
However, the energy barrier on its surface is flickering, and the structure is emitting dangerous creaking sounds, teetering on the brink of collapse.
"Jermin! Fire! Now!!" Viola managed to steady the communication while rolling around, her voice trembling with shock, anger, and the energy surge. "Take advantage of the gap after its outburst! Create an opening! Give the old man a chance to get out!!"
Her gaze was fixed on the direction of the warship, filled with an unquestionable command and urgency.
However, under her gaze, which was almost spitting fire, the warship, the last annihilation array... remained silent.
No attack beams lit up, and there was no sign of energy focusing.
"Jermin!! What are you trying to do?!" Viola's voice suddenly rose, filled with unbelievable rage. "It destroyed all the binding arrays! It destroyed two annihilation arrays! It's attacking! Can't you see it?! Now! Open fire!!!"
On the communication channel, Jemin's voice was unusually calm:
"Senior, calm down. Take a look at the deep emotion spectrum analysis data I just sent you."
Viola was taken aback, and subconsciously diverted a sliver of attention to look at the real-time data stream that Jemin had forcibly pushed onto her terminal.
It was a set of readings representing the "emotional state" of the plane's consciousness, extracted from the violent energy fluctuations through a special algorithm.
After a living dimension condenses a soul, it does indeed enhance the mobilization of power to a greater extent, but it also makes it easier for the equipment on the warship to read its emotional data.
On the chart, the deep red waveforms representing "malice," "desperation," and "aggression," while present, are not dominant.
And that sudden surge to its peak, almost piercing the upper limit of the chart... is a bright yellow waveform representing "panic", "fright", and "extreme anxiety".
Its intensity completely surpasses all other sentiment indicators!
Rather than calling it a malicious attack, it's more accurate to say...
“This reading…” Viola’s eyes widened.
"Is this...saw a natural enemy? Or something incomprehensible and terrifying, and jumped up in fright? Purely...an overreaction?"
It was not an attack.
That was simply an uncontrollable "fright reflex" triggered by the incomprehensible thing the soul saw for the first time after its birth, when it was terrified to the extreme!
Just then, the wave of fear on the soul reading of the green plane that had just unleashed a terrifying attack began to slowly recede.
Instead, a more complex emotional fluctuation, a mixture of bewilderment, confusion, pain, and a hint of... grievance, arose.
It seemed bewildered, unaware of what had just happened, only instinctively feeling fear, and then instinctively using all its strength to "push away" the thing that frightened it.
In the control room, as he watched the dominant "panic" waveform on the screen, and the subsequent emotional feedback that began to show signs of "shrinking" and "testing," he slowly loosened his fist, which he had been clenching without realizing it.
Viola's figure transformed into a streak of light, passing through the chaotic void that had not yet fully subsided due to the energy burst, and quickly flew back to the warship.
As soon as the airlock door opened, she rushed into the control room, still feeling anxious and cold.
"What exactly happened? That thing almost buried us all!" she demanded, her sharp gaze piercing Jemin while simultaneously sweeping across the porthole.
There, the last solitary annihilation array was being swept by the aftershocks of another unconscious outburst of energy from the still-shaken living plane.
The already crumbling structure finally gave way, turning into nothingness and debris in a blinding flash and a silent explosion.
However, faced with this devastating scene, Jemin's reaction was surprisingly calm.
He didn't even look at the destruction of the last magic array; his gaze remained fixed on the deep emotional spectrum data on the main control screen.
“It was just frightened, senior.” Jemin’s voice was steady, with a knowing quality. “That last bit wasn’t an attack, it was an instinctive reaction after being startled—like being woken up by ice water in the middle of the night, or a wild animal suddenly seeing something incomprehensible explode next to it.”
He pointed to the bright yellow waveform on the screen, which still dominated and represented "extreme fear": "Look, the malice waveform is very low, but the fear level is off the charts. And..."
Jemin paused.
His monk-like perception was far more acute than these instruments when reacting to the world.
So Jemin's perception tells him that the source of its terror is not from external constraints or threats, but from within itself.
Of course, he couldn't tell Viola Min, so he paused for a moment and then looked up out the porthole: "Judging from this plane's reaction, its attention shouldn't be focused on the outside. The change should be inside."
Viola frowned and looked at the data as well.
Indeed, the analysis results of the emotion spectrum are consistent with what Jemin said.
“Inside…” she murmured, her mind racing. “You mean… Instructor Clark?”
“It can only be him.” Jemin nodded, a hint of amusement in his voice. “Think about it, a living plane that has just condensed its soul and ‘opened its eyes’ to see the world, the first thing it clearly senses is a level six peak archmage with unfathomable strength who is ‘exploring’ its body. If it were me, I would probably jump up in fright and use all my strength to push this ‘unknown danger’ away or stun it first.”
