Chapter 1 Rebirth

The sleeping woman in the room suddenly opened her eyes. The fear and pain in her eyes had not completely disappeared. She stared at the ceiling blankly for a moment, and then her pupils gradually focused and her whole body reacted.

She suddenly sat up from the bed, and after subconsciously looking around vigilantly, she finally felt relieved, retracted her cold gaze, and reached out to pat her dazed head.

"Ring...Ring..." A sudden sound suddenly rang out in the room. The woman subconsciously became defensive and looked towards the source of the sound vigilantly. Seeing that the phone was still ringing, she relaxed again, reached out to take the phone, and turned off the alarm with some unfamiliarity.

Chen Ruoruo saw that the time displayed on her phone was 8:30 on June 12, 2023. She shook her dizzy head again, and seemed to finally feel the reality of everything in front of her.

She seemed to have had a dream, a nightmare that was so immersive and terrifying that it could not be more terrifying. In the dream, she experienced various natural disasters, radiation, and animal mutations, and finally died painfully while being torn and bitten by zombies.

This dream was so real, so real that she could clearly remember the disgusting fishy taste in the zombies' mouths when they pounced on her, and the heart-wrenching pain when her flesh and blood were being eaten alive.

But was it really a dream? Chen Ruoruo looked at her palm, and suddenly, she was in an unfamiliar place. It was a field as big as several football fields. Looking out, she saw nothing but white, with no end in sight.

Chen Ruoruo moved her mind and reappeared in the room. At this moment, she knew that everything was not a dream and she was reborn. Unexpectedly, this space was also reborn with her, which made Chen Ruoruo very happy.

The place Chen Ruoruo had just entered was the space ability that she had awakened in her previous life. In the late apocalypse, humans evolved various abilities, which allowed them to survive and catch their breath in the apocalypse where mutant animals and zombies gathered.

It’s just that Chen Ruoruo’s spatial ability appeared too late. In the apocalypse, people value offensive abilities more, and abilities with destructive combat power are even more highly regarded.

Because they killed many mutant animals, they were able to get enough supplies, while people without special abilities could only do the lowest level work to get some food.

Chen Ruoruo's spatial ability seemed to have no combat power other than storing supplies. She had never even heard of anyone who had awakened such an ability. If it were in the early days of the apocalypse, she could still take advantage of the chaos to stockpile some supplies.

Now, all supplies were collected, managed, and distributed across all bases. And after several natural and man-made disasters, there was no more material left for her space to store. She could only live a muddled existence, struggling for a living, at the bottom of the world, until she was killed by a zombie, ending her painful life.

Watching on TV, people saw that there were only two months left before a certain country discharged nuclear wastewater. Except for the initial strong opposition, most people did not take it seriously, including Chen Ruoruo. This was precisely the Pandora's box that marked the beginning of the end of the world.

From then on, the earth was like a kite with a broken string, spinning wildly like an out-of-control compass. First, there was large-scale rainfall around the world, then it became an extremely cold world, and then it would enter an extremely hot world.

The virus then spread and radiated to all parts of the world. In an environment where only the fittest survive, some humans became inhuman zombies, and some plants and humans began to mutate and began to compete with each other for the only place on Earth that could survive.

Chen Ruoruo knew that her time was very tight. She didn't want to be the rat living in the gutter in the apocalypse again in her next life. What she had to do now was to stock up enough supplies, find a safe shelter, and prepare for the coming apocalypse. She wanted to live a stable and comfortable life in this life.

Then Chen Ruoruo checked the balances of her various bank cards, which were about five million, since her parents passed away.

She became more isolated and rarely interacted with the outside world. She was an autistic girl who lived only in her own world. She lived a comfortable and affluent life relying on the inheritance left by her parents and dividends from company shares.

However, the money in her bank card was far from enough to buy the supplies she wanted to purchase. She thought that in the end times, everything she owned would turn into bubbles and her banknotes would depreciate like waste paper.

She posted a stock transfer information in the company's shareholder group, and then began to make a list of supplies she wanted to purchase.

Afterwards, Chen Ruoruo drove to the largest Southwest Food Wholesale Market in Shudu. After leaving the parking lot and looking at the people coming and going, she was in a trance for a moment. There were no broken limbs or flesh, no broken walls, and no zombies and mutated plants and animals that would bite anyone they saw. Everything seemed so beautiful, but there was not much time left.

In order to avoid having strange conditioned reactions to everything around her, she put on headphones to block out some information from the outside world.

As soon as she arrived at the entrance of the wholesale market, Chen Ruoruo was hit by a spicy and fragrant smell, which made her unable to move. A strong feeling of hunger came over her, and her mouth was full of saliva, so she walked into the small restaurant.

"Boss, one serving of dry pot spareribs, twice-cooked pork, shredded pork with green pepper, shredded potato with Sichuan pepper, mapo tofu, and one serving of tomato, vegetable and egg soup." Chen Ruoruo looked at the dishes on the menu and kept swallowing her saliva. She wanted to eat all the dishes now.

"Little girl, our portions are quite large. It's a bit too much for you to eat alone..." The waiter couldn't help but remind her when he saw the thin girl in front of him ordering the amount of food for almost four or five people.

"You go first. I can pack up what you can't finish..." Chen Ruoruo said to the waiter.

"good..."
