Chapter 18 Power Outage

Not long after Chen Ruoruo came out, she suddenly heard a lot of noise in the community. She didn't know what happened, so she subconsciously looked outside and found out that there was a sudden power outage in the community.

Many people were venting their emotions angrily at home. It was really uncomfortable to have a power outage in such weather. Chen Ruoruo looked at the rain and snow outside the window. Perhaps it was not just their community that had a power outage. Her consciousness extended a little further outward. As expected, all the surrounding communities had a power outage.

The power outage and the sharp drop in temperature will make the days ahead even more difficult. Chen Ruoruo closed the blackout curtains on every window in the house, even though the windows are designed to prevent peeping and provide privacy.

But just in case, Chen Ruoruo didn't plan to turn on the main lights in the room. She just took out a small desk lamp from the space to see things. As for electricity usage, it had no effect on her.

The room was originally equipped with solar panels, and she could also use the sunlight in the space to store electricity for emergency use. Chen Ruoruo placed another set of solar charging panels that she had asked the decoration team to install into the space with living things, and took out a large battery from the space. After installing both, she left the space very satisfied.

She had considered buying a generator before, but it was too noisy and consumed too much diesel. Using it in conditions like this would be a complete life-threatening device. Even if the temperature dropped significantly, she could use the floor heating and fireplace during the day, and the electric blanket, fireplace, and other air conditioners at night, so she thought it would be fine.

Chen Ruoruo was thinking while listening to the rumbling sounds coming from the buildings in the community. It was the sound of the generator. "What a fool." Chen Ruoruo rubbed her ears that were hurt by the shock and regained consciousness.

These people should have prepared the generator in advance to prevent the current situation, but it is not wise to use it now.

What Chen Ruoruo didn't know was that these people also knew that they shouldn't use this kind of thing to attract attention, but they had to use it because the weather was too cold to bear.

The fireplace in Chen Ruoruo's room has never been extinguished, and the floor heating has always been on. The room is always warm. Sometimes she even feels too hot and has to turn down the temperature of the floor heating.

Only those who are better off can turn on the air conditioner all day long. When the air conditioner no longer works, they turn on the electric blanket, air conditioner, and fireplace together to feel warm.

Those in poor conditions could only rely on constantly adding clothes to avoid the cold. Some even found charcoal fires at home to keep warm, but because the space was closed and the air was not circulating, they lost their lives in their sleep.

Fortunately, the room was soundproofed, and once Chen Ruoruo regained consciousness, the surroundings returned to silence. She recalled the various supplies she had collected, but she hadn't even carefully examined them, having simply dumped them into the space without a second thought.

Chen Ruoruo had no idea what the items were that had been collected from a certain Dong warehouse and museum before, and she had not had time to open many of the parcels collected from a certain bird express station.

In her previous life, she loved shopping online, and because of this, she stockpiled various supplies at home, which allowed her to survive the difficult period at the beginning of the apocalypse and live to the end of the apocalypse.

In her previous life, she had also gone to various express delivery stations to collect supplies. At the beginning, because many people did not notice, she found a lot of supplies in the unopened packages. Later, as more people knew about it and supplies were in short supply, there were no usable supplies in the packages that had been selected.

There were also many packages that were ruined because they were soaked in water for a long time. Chen Ruoruo always felt sorry when she thought about it. She thought that if she could collect these things in advance, they would not be wasted.

Because Chen Ruoruo deeply experienced the difficulties of survival in her previous life, she inevitably had an obsession with storing supplies in her heart, and she always couldn't help but want to collect and store more supplies. Chen Ruoruo looked at her space with abundant supplies, which gave her a rare sense of satisfaction and security since her rebirth.

Although supplies are important, the prerequisite is to stay alive. The things in the space now are enough for her to survive in the apocalypse, but if conditions permit in the future, she will certainly not give up the opportunity to collect supplies again.

After all, there is still a large group of carnivorous animals with large appetites in the space. Although the space should be able to support them, Chen Ruoruo is still worried that one day those animals will eat up all the food reserves she has kept in the space.

If possible, she would have to find a way to collect more goods into the space, so that her abilities might be upgraded, and her survival in the future would be more guaranteed.

Chen Ruoruo pondered in her mind and roughly checked the supplies in the space. At the same time, she took out some jade jewelry collected from the museum. These jewelry were transparent and moist, with a warm luster.

However, these inanimate objects such as jade and gold jewelry, no matter how valuable or old they are, seem to have no effect on her space, let alone help upgrade the space.

While recalling the abnormalities in the space after the museum was taken over and in herself, Chen Ruoruo gestured with the jewelry in her hands.

In the past, these things were kept in glass cases as treasures and could only be viewed from a distance but not played with. But now, Chen Ruoruo only felt that the bracelet was warm and cool to the touch, but not cold.

She stroked the carefully carved dragon pattern on the jade bracelet. The eyes, nose, dragon whiskers, dragon scales and other details were all clear, and the smooth white jade made the dragon look lifelike.

The producer was really good at it. Chen Ruoruo couldn't help but put it on her wrist. Now she was not afraid of being discovered even if she was carrying a priceless cultural relic at home. She shook it on her hand with satisfaction, and then went to look at other jewelry.
