Chapter 48 Entering the Seventeenth Floor

While the 11th Institute was busy in full swing, Li Jun and his team were also busy on the 16th floor. Finally, they pried a hole in the wooden board above their heads.

The strange thing was that it was pitch black when they looked inside, even though the weather outside was just right and there was even sunlight shining on the windowsill. They tentatively reached their hands in again and found that there was nothing around them.

"Boss, use this..." The younger brother next to him handed over a clothesline.

"Bang... Bang... Bang..." Li Jun took the clothesline and poked it into the black hole a few times. He encountered something at the top and a hollow sound was heard.

"Is there something else?" Wang Hong asked from below. Seeing this, the other brothers all looked unhappy. This happened again and again. Could it be that there is another layer above? Is there something else to do?

"Hmm..." Li Jun pushed the clothesline upwards with force, feeling as if it could be stretched open. When he withdrew his hand, he heard a bang.

The sudden reaction force from above caught Li Jun off guard for a moment, and his whole body swayed on the stairs and he almost fell to the ground. Seeing this, several younger brothers hurried forward to hold the ladder and Li Jun's body, so that no accident happened and it was a false alarm.

"Brother Li, what's going on?" Wang Hong helped Li Jun down and asked him

"There seems to be a cabinet on top that can be opened..." Li Jun said with a frown

"Cabinet?" Li Jun

"Great, then we can push the cabinet open from the inside and go to the 17th floor?" a little brother said excitedly

"Yeah..." the others responded.

"Then who will be the first to go in and open the upstairs cabinet?" Wang Hong asked

"I...I'll do it..."

"I'll come, I'll come..."

"I..." Several younger brothers scrambled excitedly, wanting to be the first to enter the 17th floor.

"No, you can't go in." Li Jun looked at the excited people, waved his hand with a serious face, and signaled them to be quiet.

"Brother Li, what do you mean?" Wang Hong was puzzled, and the other brothers were also puzzled. The fat sheep was right at their mouths.

"The people upstairs are thinking big, they want to catch the turtle in the jar." Li Jun looked at them and said

"What do you mean?" a younger brother asked

"Once we stick our bodies in and get trapped, we won't have the power to resist at all, and the person upstairs can take advantage of this opportunity to kill us with one blow." Li Jun patiently explained to several people.

"Good fellow, so he has such evil intentions? I'm going to give him a good beating..."

"That's right, that's right..."

"It's really well-intentioned. So now..." Wang Hong asked again

The room went from being excited at the beginning to becoming quiet again, and everyone was wondering how to get to the 17th floor safely.

"Our people can't take this risk. Isn't there that old man and his family downstairs? Let that dead old woman go up first to explore the way..." Li Jun said.

"That's a good idea. Sure enough, the boss is smarter than us..."

"You are our boss..."

"That's right, that's right..." Several younger brothers complimented him repeatedly.

"Go, go, go, you slick-tongued bunch, hurry up and call that old woman up..." Li Jun

"Okay, let's go..." The two younger brothers hurried downstairs to find someone.

Aunt Liu paced back and forth anxiously at home with her grandson. Her son Wu Hao went out last night and it was already noon and he had not returned yet. This had never happened before. It was also her fault that she did not persuade her son. Now that the temperature outside is rising, more and more people will go out to look for supplies during the day, and it is inevitable that there will be fights over supplies.

Wu Hao told her that he could go out at night to look for supplies. The temperature at night was much higher than before, so going out at night would not attract attention and it would be easier to hide. However, her son Dao had not come back yet, and she was really worried, fearing that something had happened.

"Bang bang bang..." There was a knock on the door.

"Son, come back..." Aunt Liu was anxious when she heard the sound outside the door. She hurried to open the door, but saw two people with bad faces looking at her with bad intentions.

"Old man, come with us..." a younger brother said

"You, what are you going to do? My son handed over the supplies to you..." Aunt Liu subconsciously took a step back and said to the two of them

"It has nothing to do with your son, let's go..."

"I... I won't go..." Aunt Liu refused fearfully, having a hunch that nothing good was going to happen.

"This is not up to you..." Another person stepped forward and forcibly pulled Aunt Liu's arm, and the two of them carried her upstairs.

"Let me go, let me go..." Aunt Liu kept struggling, but she didn't have enough strength.

"Grandma..." The little grandson stood inside the door and looked at the scene in front of him, and burst into tears.

"Noisy... Bang..." A little brother heard the child's voice, rubbed his ears, went over and kicked the door, and the door was closed with a bang. The crying of the child in the house stopped immediately. After a long time, a faint sobbing sound was heard, as if the child was frightened.

"You scared the child..." Aunt Liu shouted

"Shut up..." A younger brother slapped the old woman on the face. The latter didn't dare to say anything more. With tears in her eyes, she was carried to the 16th floor by two younger brothers.

Aunt Liu returned to her home again. Looking at everything familiar in the house, tears flowed silently again. But when she saw Li Jun and others sitting in the house staring at her, she stopped crying.

"Aunt Liu, I asked you to come here because I need to trouble you with something..." Wang Hong said
