Chapter 406 The Truth of Time Travel

Chapter 406 The Truth of Time Travel

The unicorn stopped about five meters away from the tree. The Elf King raised his flawless face and looked at the boy sitting on the branch with gentle green eyes.

Shu Li stared at him in a daze.

He didn't know what attitude he should use to face the Elf King in the illusion.

He is clearly the most familiar lover, but now he has to be treated as a stranger.

Shu Li licked her dry lips, hugged her schoolbag tightly, and tried to look surprised and scared.

"Hello..." he asked in his native language, which he had spoken for eighteen years. "Excuse me...are you the one who brought me into this strange place?"

After saying this, he couldn't help but burst into tears.

It has been a long, long time since I spoke to someone in Chinese.

Since crossing into another world and becoming a goblin, he has been trying hard to integrate into the new environment and learn the new language and culture. He only dares to practice his native language secretly when he is alone to prevent himself from forgetting how to pronounce it.

After twenty-two years, or more than a hundred years, he can finally speak Chinese openly.

The Elf King looked at him quietly.

Shu Li felt embarrassed by his gaze and wiped the tears from her face with the back of her hand, feeling a little ashamed.

Suddenly, the elf stretched out his hand to him, and a breeze appeared out of nowhere, lifted his body up and away from the branch.

Shu Li showed panic about the supernatural, curling up in horror with his eyes wide open and moist.

The magical wind carried him smoothly away from the tree and towards the Elf King.

The Elf King stretched out his hands and caught him easily.

When Shu Li came back to his senses, he was already sitting sideways on the unicorn's back, held intimately in the Elf King's arms.

He looked up flattered, and the handsome face of the Elf King was reflected in his dilated pupils.

"I'm sorry," the Elf King said, speaking in standard Chinese. "There was a small accident while crossing the space tunnel between the two worlds, leaving you alone to face an unfamiliar environment."

Shu Li opened her mouth slightly and unconsciously grabbed the Elf King's clothes.

He really knows Chinese! He can speak Chinese!

Seeing Shu Li's shocked expression, the Elf King soothed her softly, "I need your help, so I had to bring you here. Please forgive my intrusion and rudeness."

Shu Li wondered, if it was her first time traveling through time and she knew nothing, and was suddenly brought to a strange world, how would she respond after hearing the words of the Elf King?

"I... don't know anything, how can I help you?"

His original human body had zero affinity with natural elements.

Without magic, he couldn't make a single move in the other world. He couldn't even defeat the lowest monsters, let alone help the Elf King defeat the God of Darkness.

He didn't think that a useless person like him could help the Elf King change the prophecy of the God of Time.

The Elf King patted the unicorn's neck, and the unicorn spread its four hooves and strolled in the forest.

All the magical beasts hiding in the dark around them retreated to make way for the Elf King.

"God's guidance is never wrong." The Elf King lowered his head and looked tenderly at the young man in his arms. "As long as you are willing to help, I will do my best to protect you."

Shu Li was lost in his emerald green eyes and couldn't refuse his request. "After I help you... can I go home?"

His meager willpower allowed him to retain a trace of sanity.

Whether in the past or now, Shu Li wants to go home.

Since becoming a goblin, his only belief has been to become stronger, defeat the God of Darkness, and find a way to return to his original world and reunite with his family.

If possible, he wanted to bring the Elf King to meet his family.

The Elf King looked at him deeply and did not answer immediately.

Shu Li hesitated and grabbed his collar tightly, his handsome face full of anxiety and fear.

In the silent forest, the sound of the unicorn's hooves echoed, "thump, thump", with a leisurely rhythm that was neither fast nor slow.

A glowing insect floated by, attracting Shu Li's attention.

His eyes followed the insect and he slowly turned his head to see the fluorescent light all over the sky.

These are fireflies unique to the Fairy Forest. They are full of vitality and like to live near clean water. Every night, they come out and decorate the dark forest with brilliant light.

The unicorn carried them to a pond.

Countless fireflies flashed charming lights and danced by the water.

Shu Li was immersed in the beautiful night and couldn't extricate herself.

After an unknown amount of time, the Elf King answered his question in a pleasant voice.

"Okay." He lowered his head and said, "Whether it succeeds or not, I will take you home."

Shu Li turned around to meet the Elf King's deep gaze, unable to utter any words of refusal.

"Okay," he said, "I'm willing to help you."

The Elf King extended his finger and tapped his forehead. "Thank you."

Shu Li blinked and asked, "What should I do?"

He didn't think that his human self could accomplish great things in another world.

The Elf King said, "I will grant you a new body and identity."

"ah?"

Shu Li finally knew why she became a little goblin.

The unicorn spread its wings and took off into the air, flying over the Fairy Forest and heading west towards the huge silver full moon.

Shu Li snuggled in the Elf King's arms, enjoying the scenery along the road in the bright moonlight.

They flew over the dense forest, passed the towering sacred trees, arrived at the Elf Kingdom, came to the beautiful Lake Saint Zion, and landed on the Gust Island in the center of the lake.

After getting off the unicorn, the Elf King held his hand and led him up the stairs step by step into the sacred Milady Palace.

The palace was brightly lit, and the magnificent and heavy stone door slowly opened to welcome the Son of Light and guests from another world.

Shu Li had come to Milady Palace many times as a little fairy, but never was she as nervous as she is now.

He was holding the Elf King's hand in one hand and carrying a schoolbag full of wild fruits in the other. He was wearing a light blue sportswear and white sneakers covered with grass and dust. He walked blankly to the statue of the God of Light with the Elf King in a gorgeous purple robe.

The Elf King released his hand, clasped his hands together, and prayed devoutly to the gods.

Shu Li hesitated for a moment, put her schoolbag at her feet, and imitated the Elf King's actions, closing her eyes and praying together.

"Great God of Light, Ryan Freyce, please tell me if this is an illusion or a true past event? I am willing to offer my loyalty and fight for light forever..."

God gave him no instructions.

Shu Li opened his eyes regretfully.

The Elf King's prayer also ended. He held a crystal clear crystal ball in his hands and looked at Shu Li gently.

Shu Li curiously stretched out her finger and touched the crystal ball.

The crystal ball suddenly lit up with a hazy white light, scaring him so much that he quickly retracted his finger.

The Elf King raised the corner of his mouth slightly, revealing a faint smile.

"Are you ready?" he asked.

Shu Li couldn't help but straighten his back, took a deep breath, and said solemnly: "I'm ready."

He didn't know what the Elf King was going to do to him, but he instinctively believed that the Elf King would not harm him.

The Elf King raised the crystal ball and uttered an obscure spell.

It's a spell from ancient times.

Shu Li was in a trance for a moment, and the crystal ball emitted a dazzling light. He instinctively closed his eyes. At the same time, his consciousness sank and his soul fell into a coma.

In the hall, the boy from another world disappeared out of thin air, leaving only the schoolbag full of fruits lying alone on the clean ground.

The Elf King held the crystal ball in both hands and knelt down to worship the God of Light.

After finishing his prayer, he flicked his sleeves, put his schoolbag into the storage ring, took the crystal ball, mounted the unicorn, and flew to the sacred tree where the fairy was, riding on the night wind and moonlight.

Shu Li's current situation was very strange. He seemed to have become a spectator, "watching" the Elf King walk into the fairy cub breeding room and use magic to knock unconscious the elf Saya who was napping against a tree trunk.

The Elf King stood in front of the flower that gave birth to fairies and brought the crystal ball close to a blooming flower bed. When he finished chanting the spell, a curled-up little baby floated out of the crystal ball and slowly landed on the pistil in the center of the flower bed.

The petals closed one by one, wrapping the little baby and turning it into a flower bud.

The Elf King put away the crystal ball, cut his finger, and dripped a drop of bright red blood into the flower bud.

The flower buds absorbed the blood beads and became full of vitality. They were more beautiful than all the flower buds on the vine, and the petals were shining with golden fluorescence.

The Elf King stood in front of the flower bud and stared at it for a long time. Only when the sleeping red-haired elf was about to wake up did he teleport out of the gestation room.

Sia yawned, opened her eyes, stretched, and found that she had overslept. She hurried to the flower buds and supplied them with the power of light.

"Huh? Why is there an extra bud?"

She looked at the golden buds growing on the tall vine in amazement, sensing the little life inside, and smiled with joy.

"Great! Another little cub!"

"One, two, three, four, five... twenty-three, twenty-four, twenty-five!"

"I'm so awesome! I gave birth to twenty-five fairy cubs this time!"

Saiya put her hands on her hips, feeling very accomplished.

Shu Li's consciousness was still in a strange state, but it was confined to the gestation room.

Saya tried her best to supply strength to each flower bud. As the days passed, the Elf King would occasionally come over and stop in front of the golden bud to observe whether the little life inside was growing smoothly.

Before we knew it, ten years had passed and twenty-five buds were about to bloom.

Thea awaits the birth of the goblin cub.

One, two, three, four, five...

The fairy cub spread its wings, flew away from the flower bed in a daze, and played hide-and-seek among the flowers and plants with its naked butt.

There was only one flower bed left, and a little golden-haired fairy cub was sleeping soundly on the pistil with its little butt sticking up.

Shu Li knew that it was herself.

However, his consciousness could no longer control the newborn cub, and like some of his previous illusions, he became a bystander.

Saya looked at the fairy cub worriedly, stretched out her finger and gently poked his little butt, urging him to wake up.

Shu Li: ...

The little cub was finally awakened. He opened his eyes drowsily and was shocked to see a huge head. He was almost scared to tears.

At this moment, he forgot the agreement with the Elf King and just thought that he had an accident and was reincarnated into another world.

Saya spoke a bunch of Elvish to the cub, but the cub didn't understand and trembled while clutching the petals.

The Elf King appeared and "saved" the cub.

He stretched out his finger and lightly touched the goblin cub's head, bestowing the blessing of the Elf King.

The goblin cub not only had a small flower crown on its head that contained three Horcruxes, but also got a new name.

—Sperian.

In Elvish, Sperion means both Son of Light and hope.

Shu Li watched the blonde goblin cub fly clumsily out of the flower bed, and his soul let out a long sigh.

It turned out that this was the entire process of his time travel.
