Chapter 167 Don’t judge a person by appearance
Tang Zikai looked at Dai Qing's expression and knew there was something he didn't understand. This little charlatan really threw away his phone number.
"I still have things to deal with today. Wait for my call." After saying that, he turned around and got in the car and left without waiting for Dai Qing to answer.
Watching the jeep speeding away, Dai Qing looked at the phone number in her hand again, put it directly into her pocket, and quickly crossed the road when the light turned green.
As she passed by, two people came out of the alley not far away. They were Yan Biao and Xin Wa.
"I never thought that Sister Dai actually has connections in the capital. That's amazing."
Yan Biao looked at the jeep that had disappeared long ago, and was puzzled. He was a soldier just now, and he looked like he held a high position. He didn't expect that Sister Dai actually knew such a big shot. It was true that one cannot judge a person by his appearance.
Fortunately, he was usually very respectful to Sister Dai and never dared to neglect her.
"If I'm not mistaken, the man just now is more powerful than the Dong family." And that conspicuous license plate is hard to ignore.
"I can't tell, but judging from the license plate number, he should be from the military. If the capital city involves the military, he must not be a simple person."
Xinwa held the gift, sighed, and then turned to look at the boss.
"Sister Dai is amazing."
Yan Biao did not object to this, as there were indeed too many suspicious points about Dai Qing. Fortunately, he had been on good terms with Sister Dai from the beginning and had never neglected her. He did not expect that he would meet a big sister by accident.
"Let's go meet Boss Dong first and make an appointment."
Dai Qing visited the ancient buildings in the alley with great interest, and had no idea that her encounter with Tang Zikai had given Yan Biao so many new ideas.
Dai Qing was still not satisfied after spending the whole morning there, so she randomly found a noodle shop and had a bowl of noodles with fried soybean paste. She then strolled around for a while and returned to the hotel at three in the afternoon.
As soon as I entered the lobby, Hu Zi came to greet me.
"Sister Dai, you are back, and the boss is back too. Please go back to your room and rest. I will go talk to the boss."
"Yeah." Since Hu Zi had specially waited for him in the lobby, the meeting time must have been set.
I had just washed my face and drank some tea when Yan Biao knocked on the door.
"Sister Dai, how was your turn today?"
"It's OK, just walk around. Do you have an appointment?" Dai Qing sat in a chair and saw him standing next to her. She pointed at the chair next to her and said, "It's not like there's no chair. Why are you standing there?"
Yan Biao chuckled, sat in the chair beside him, and spoke respectfully.
"Tomorrow morning at 8:30, Mr. Dong's private teahouse."
Ever since he saw that scene in the morning, he asked Boss Dong about the license plate in a roundabout way whenever he met him.
Boss Dong looked at him sternly, telling him to be careful with his words and actions, and to ask less about the people and things in the capital that he shouldn't know about. The less he knew, the safer he would be.
Especially the warning look from Boss Dong, which frightened him so much that he broke out in a cold sweat.
He vaguely guessed that the license plate was something that the Dong family feared.
With this guess, he was filled with anxiety. How could he dare to neglect the young lady in front of him?
Hearing Yan Biao's tone, Dai Qing looked at him and said, "Okay, tomorrow morning, just wait for me in the lobby."
In their city, Yan Biao always carried himself in a haughty manner wherever he went, acting like a real big boss.
After arriving in the capital, he immediately showed his servility when he met people who were higher than him.
They say that environment changes people, and it is indeed true.
Only by being able to bend and stretch can one last long.
When you are in a lower position than others, your attitude is indeed very important.
"Don't worry, Sister Dai. I will be waiting for you in the lobby on time. What would you like to eat tomorrow morning? I will ask Hu Zi to buy it for you in advance." Now this person is his own aunt and he cannot neglect her at all.
"Sweet tofu pudding and fried dough sticks will do." The current breakfast in the capital is the same old thing, especially the soy milk, which she can't get used to.
"Okay, Huzi will deliver it on time at 7:30 tomorrow."
It's good to have requests. He likes Sister Dai to make requests to him. He hates it most when she asks him to make random arrangements. The word "randomly" is the most frustrating.
After Yan Biao left, Dai Qing locked the door, took a shower, and went to bed, intending to get up early the next day.
After a sleepless night, Dai Qing opened her eyes at 6:30 in the morning. After lying in bed for a while, she got up, washed and dressed.
She wore a white shirt underneath with a blue sweater on the outside, paired with boss pants, black mid-heeled leather shoes, and her hair was tied into a high ponytail, simple and neat.
Hu Zi brought breakfast on time. After eating, he put on his jacket and went downstairs together.
Yan Biao called a taxi in advance, and several people went to the Dong family's private teahouse together.
The taxi stopped in front of a blue brick courtyard, and Yan Biao went up to the door and knocked.
A middle-aged man opened the door and talked to him for a few words. The man glanced at Dai Qing with a look of scrutiny.
Dai Qing had seen this kind of looks many times, and she didn't care. She just stood there with a calm expression.
"Come in, the sir has been waiting for you for a long time." The middle-aged uncle stepped aside to let them in, walked through the screen wall, and led them straight to the main house.
"Sir, the guests have arrived."
Dai Qing looked over and discovered that sitting in the main seat of the house was a man in his thirties with a square face, monkey eyes, and half-drooped eyelids, as if he was half awake. From this point alone, one could tell that this man was extremely suspicious and had some reputation.
"Boss Dong, good morning." Yan Biao's face was immediately filled with smiles when he saw Dong Zhen. "This is Miss Dai Qing, an excellent fortune teller."
"Ms. Dai, I've heard a lot about you. Yan Biao has always praised you for your excellent physiognomy, but I didn't expect you to be so young?" Dong Zhen looked at her with a probing look in his eyes.
"Gan Luo became prime minister at the age of twelve, which shows that age has little to do with ability." Dai Qing sat on a chair next to him, looking indifferent and spoke softly.
Dong Zhen was stunned for a moment, then burst into laughter, "You're right, who says young people can't accomplish anything? Uncle Wu, serve Miss Dai some good tea."
Then, a middle-aged man came over with a covered bowl in his hand, and greeted them respectfully.
"Miss Dai, please have some tea."
"Thank you," Dai Qing picked up the covered bowl, stirred it, and took a sip. "I can only smell the fragrance of flowers without seeing them. It's the best jasmine tea. It tastes fresh and sweet."
"As long as Miss Dai likes it."
Dong Zhen squinted his eyes and looked at her. Although he had a smile on his face, it always made people feel hypocritical.
"You guys come with Uncle Wu to the private room and let Miss Dai take a good look at me."
Dong Zhen waved at Yan Biao and the others, and after watching them leave with Uncle Wu, he turned to Dai Qing and nodded slightly at her.
Dai Qing perked up and looked at his face.
This person has a well-balanced face, a broad and moist official palace on the forehead, a pair of crescent-shaped eyebrows, and red and yellow hues in the life palace and the wealth palace. Such a person is smart, witty and flexible, and is very much liked by the elders, but has a weak relationship with brothers and is not close to them.
He is wealthy, has a respectable status, and has earned himself some fame.
But his harem of wives and concubines was very problematic and messy.
