Chapter 77 Going to the Orphanage

Chapter 77 Going to the Orphanage

In a blink of an eye, it was time to get off work. Dai Qing went home and fell asleep immediately. She had made an appointment with Cheng Hao to go to the orphanage together after waking up.

At twelve o'clock noon, I got up on time, washed up, changed into a Dacron skirt, put on transparent sandals, and went to the bus stop to meet Cheng Hao.

As soon as I arrived at the bus stop, I saw Cheng Hao carrying a lot of things, big and small bags.

"There are many children in the orphanage. Bring some snacks for them."

Dai Qing suddenly realized that she had nothing in her hands and felt a little embarrassed.

“I hadn’t thought of that.”

"You haven't seen those kids. When you see them, you'll be tempted to buy something the next time you go there."

Cheng Hao chuckled. Ever since he and Chang Hui met Dean Li, they would always bring some things over to see him from time to time. It was also a token of their appreciation.

It takes an hour to get from the textile factory to the suburbs. The two of them sat at the back, looking at the scenery along the road and chatting occasionally.

The further you go out of the main city, the more desolate it becomes.

"The orphanage is in the suburbs. Is it inconvenient to live there?" Dai Qing looked at the weeds around her. There were vegetable fields and farmlands not far away, as well as makeshift thatched houses. The living conditions there were really poor.

Sitting in the bus, it was so bumpy that I couldn't speak clearly.

"When we first had a few children, we lived in an abandoned courtyard in the city. With the donations from kind-hearted people, we were able to live well. Later, as we had more and more children, the donations decreased a lot. Dean Li couldn't afford it alone, so he sold his house and moved to the suburbs. Although the conditions were poor, the place was large, and he grew vegetables and raised chickens and ducks, and he managed to make a living."

Dai Qing nodded. So that's how it is. "People with such great love are admirable."

"Yes, but for some reason, we cannot get approval and government funding, so we can only waste our time like this."

As Cheng Hao was speaking, the bus stopped at the terminal. The two got off the bus and walked along the path inside.

Half an hour later, the two stopped in front of an iron gate. A courtyard half a person's height is better to have than not to have. It is better to guard against gentlemen than villains.

"Who are you? Are you here to look for Mama Li?" the child looked at them through the crack in the door.

"Yes, can you ask your mother Li to open the door for us?" Dai Qing bent down and spoke with a smile.

"Wait a minute, I'll be there soon."

The child responded, and then the sound of footsteps was heard. After a while, the door opened, and Dean Li, who was over fifty years old, wore an apron and wiped his hands to greet Cheng Hao.

"Xiao Cheng is here. Is this girl your girlfriend? She's so pretty."

Dai Qing was stunned and waved her hands repeatedly, "Hello, Dean Li, we are just ordinary friends."

"Oh? Really?" Dean Li listened to Dai Qing's explanation and didn't care. He invited them in. "Since you came last time, the children have been talking about you every day. I didn't expect that they really waited for you to come."

As he was talking, several children came running over and said, "Uncle Cheng, you are here to see us."

"Uncle Cheng, did you bring us some delicious food again?"

"Uncle Cheng, I miss you so much."

Looking at their innocent eyes and listening to their heart-wrenching words, Dai Qing stood by and looked at the yard in front of her.

There are four bungalows and two thatched houses, which seem to have been built later. Except for a piece of open space in front of me, the rest is fenced and planted with various vegetables. There is a row of chicken coops near the wall, and a few old hens are strolling in the fenced garden.

Especially the children here, their clothes are a little dirty and worn, but their eyes are bright and innocent, and their smiles are brilliant.
