Demiurge's massive, powerful frame suddenly shattered as if struck by an irresistible force. Countless streams of bright red blood spurted out from his ruptured body, drifting freely through the air like a bloody rain.
The bright red blood seemed to possess life, emitting a sickening odor and a rich surge of magical energy. Shalltear, standing nearby, keenly sensed this powerful aura, her once icy eyes now revealing a hint of unconcealable excitement.
She slowly closed her eyes and licked her slightly chapped lips with her tongue, as if savoring a delicious meal. Then, she opened her mouth and took a deep breath. As if summoned, the blood of Demiurge drifted in the air, rushing towards her and being quickly absorbed into her body.
"Don't waste it!" Shalltear chuckled contentedly. As she absorbed the last drop of blood, the entire space seemed to fall silent.
Meanwhile, Su Yan, who had been watching the battle nearby, finally breathed a sigh of relief. Landing safely on the ground, he gazed at the lifeless remains of Demiurge before him, thinking to himself, "I've finally eliminated the guardian of the seventh floor. But there's still the eighth floor waiting to be challenged. I wonder how Bone King will react when he learns the truth? He might faint from rage..." At this thought, Su Yan couldn't help but smile faintly, then turned and walked towards the entrance to the eighth floor without hesitation.
Su Yan slowly ascended the steps to the eighth floor. When he finally reached this mysterious level, a mixture of curiosity and nervousness surged in his heart. He paused, took a deep breath, and began to carefully examine his surroundings.
A vast expanse of wilderness unfolded before him, a howling wind whipping up clouds of dust. Withered grass trembled in the wind, as if telling of the vicissitudes of life this land had endured. And amidst this desolate landscape, Shalltear walked quietly, her graceful figure seeming lonely and insignificant.
"This is the ultimate line of defense..." Shalltear whispered, her voice carrying far across the vast wilderness. "But, to be honest, I've never seen the guardians here in person."
Hearing this, Su Yan frowned slightly and fell into deep thought. He knew full well that the guardians of the previous floors were formidable, and breaking through their defenses would be no easy task. If a human army had truly made it all the way to the eighth floor, it would have proven to be a formidable force. However, the ultimate outcome, complete annihilation, was truly unbelievable.
"From what I know, that human army was quite powerful back then..." Su Yan narrowed his eyes, various possible scenarios constantly appearing in his mind. "Since they were able to attack here, they must have been quite powerful. But why did they suffer such a crushing defeat? Could it be that the guardian of this eighth floor possesses unimaginable terrifying power? Or is there some kind of special trap or mechanism?"
Su Yan's heartbeat quickened at this thought. Facing such an unknown and dangerous place, he needed to be extremely vigilant. A single misstep could lead to disaster. What challenges awaited him? The answers seemed to lie hidden deep within this desolate wilderness, waiting for him to uncover them.
Su Yan raised his head and gazed straight ahead. He saw a vast expanse of desolate ground before him. The earth was dry and cracked, barren of grass and lifeless. The surroundings were eerily quiet; not even a breeze could be felt, let alone any signs of life.
However, such a seemingly dead place actually possessed a terrifying power that was enough to annihilate all the powerful humans! This fact made Su Yan secretly think: This place must have unusual mysteries and unique features.
At that moment, Su Yan's sharp eyes caught a glimpse of something unusual right in front of him. He peered closer and saw a massive, ancient tree standing there. The tree towered into the sky, its massive trunk like a towering mountain, firmly rooted in the barren land.
The lush branches and leaves spread out like a green ocean, each leaf gleaming with emerald light and emitting a powerful vitality. Su Yan couldn't help but be attracted to it, and his steps involuntarily moved towards the ancient tree.
As the distance gradually closed, Su Yan saw more and more clearly the wonder of this ancient tree. Its dense canopy stretched like a giant umbrella, reaching to the horizon, seemingly connected to the heavens. Sunlight filtered through the gaps between the leaves, forming golden beams that intertwined and shimmered with a mysterious and dazzling light. The entire scene looked absolutely magnificent and magical!
"Hmm! There's movement!" Su Yan's heart tightened, his brows furrowed slightly, and his sharp, eagle-like eyes fixed on the center of the ancient and mysterious tree before him. His intuition told him that some terrifying existence must be hidden in this place.
As they approached, a powerful force seemed to permeate the air. With every step, they could clearly feel their hearts beating strongly, as if gripped by an invisible hand. Even the usually calm and composed Shalltear, standing nearby, couldn't help but show a hint of curiosity.
Su Yan took a deep breath, calmed his mind, and then took a step forward without hesitation. He gripped the gleaming Ten Directions Sword tightly in his right hand, his arm muscles tense and veins bulging. With a low shout, he swung his sword fiercely, cleaving it straight at the ancient tree in front of him with a sharp sword energy.
