Chapter 194

Upon entering the forest, Ange discovered highlights everywhere. She hadn't noticed them before because of the distance and the trees obscuring them.

She walked toward a bright spot, squatted down to take a look, and found it was a small ginseng root.

"Just as I thought, those lights are where the treasures are!" An Ge exclaimed in surprise. The upgraded Eye of Detection was like a map marked with treasures in a game. As long as it was opened, the treasures could be found easily.

"Now that's what you call eyes that can see beauty!"

The lights before us varied in size, and upon exploration, we discovered that they were all determined by their value.

The forest truly is a treasure trove, with fields of rhubarb, angelica, and saposhnikovia, as well as many other herbs that Ange couldn't even name. It's practically a doctor's paradise.

Ange hadn't been gone long when she had gathered a bunch of herbs and found some jewelry in the little squirrel's house.

Looking at the sparkling jewelry, An Ge silently apologized to the little squirrel, then put the items into her pocket with a clear conscience.

After exploring for a while, An Ge gave up. There were just too many. At her pace, she wouldn't be able to finish digging them all in a few days.

The most urgent task is to find out what that extremely bright light is.

An Ge ignored the bright spots and went straight for the light.

The light seemed close, but it would actually take at least several hours to get there. Fortunately, Ange had learned some footwork techniques. Although flying wasn't possible in this era, the footwork alone made her much faster.

When they reached a waterfall, An Ge felt unwell. She quickly closed her eyes, and after a while, the discomfort disappeared.

"It seems this is the limit of using the Eye of Exploration." An Ge silently noted the time and found that this time it would last for an hour, which would be enough for her to find the treasure.

Below the waterfall was a small river, and An Ge, following her memory, accurately found the point of light in the river.

The glowing object is a porcelain white jade bottle, shaped like an ordinary vase, with a round body and a slender middle section, and feels slightly cool to the touch.

Ange couldn't tell what material it was, but her intuition made her frown.

"It's clearly a treasure, but I just can't bring myself to like it."

Just as they were wondering, Xiao Qi suddenly spoke up, "Master, this thing seems to be produced by the system. I'll go ask the other deities to see if they have any accurate information."

An Ge looked at the jade bottle in surprise, "Could this have been left behind by the previous chosen one of this plane?"

"Very likely."

An Ge put the jade bottle away, waiting for news from Xiao Qi before taking any action.

It was getting late, and a cool breeze blew by, making her shiver. At this moment, An Ge was extremely grateful that because Cangshan Mountain had abundant spiritual energy, there were no ghosts or monsters. Otherwise, she would have been so frightened that she would have retreated halfway through the journey, even with her Detective Eye activated.

Back at the inn, it was already completely dark, and An Ge breathed a sigh of relief.

With her spiritual energy almost fully restored, An Ge gazed into the dark forest and activated her Eye of Exploration once more. After all, light shines brighter in the darkness.

Suddenly, she saw a blinding light coming from outside the inn, which made her eyes feel uncomfortable.

The light seemed to be moving, heading towards the inn. An Ge quickly ran over, and before she even got close, she heard Rong Zhuo's voice.

“Ginseng, I heard from Principal Chi that you skipped class. What happened? If you don’t give me a straight answer, I’m going to tell the shop manager.”

“Uncle Zhuo, Shenwa didn’t mean it. Brother Kang’s mother has been sick recently, so I went to his house to hug her.”

“Ginseng, your situation is special. You can’t always use yourself as a doctor. If others discover your abilities, even we won’t be able to protect you all the time.”

Shenwa wanted to argue that he was also very powerful, and ordinary people couldn't beat him. Seeing Rongzhuo's disapproving look, he felt a little guilty.

"Ginseng Child understands."

“Alright, Uncle Zhuo isn’t blaming you. It’s good that Shenwa wants to help others, but you’re still young. Your main task right now is to study hard,” Rong Zhuo said earnestly.

As the two were walking towards the inn, they saw An Ge's hurried figure.

"Sister An!" Ginseng's baby voice was especially loud in the night.

"Why isn't the store manager resting so late?"

Looking at the glowing ginseng baby, An Ge couldn't help but laugh, "I found a great treasure and wanted to come and see it."

Is the ginseng baby a precious treasure?

"Of course, the ginseng is the greatest treasure I have ever seen."

An Ge's words made Shenwa laugh heartily, "Shenwa likes Sister An the most."

An Ge played with Shenwa for a while before urging him to go to sleep, as he had to go to school early the next morning.

Seeing Shenwa looking back every few steps, Ange smiled and said to Rongzhuo, "Shenwa is so young, yet he's already tired of studying. I remember his best friend Song Ankang was always reading books. One was a poor student, and the other was a top student, but they got along remarkably well."

Rongzhuo said with a hint of pride, "No one can dislike Ginseng Baby."

An Ge nodded in agreement. "I've actually been reflecting on whether we've been protecting Shenwa too much. Although he's pure of heart, it doesn't mean he's naive or ignorant, and he can distinguish between good and evil. The people Shenwa wants to help would never have any bad intentions."

Rong Zhuo was silent for a while. "What the shop manager said makes sense. I misunderstood." He suddenly realized that Shenwa was a child taught by the shop manager. Even if he was simple-minded, he was still quite cunning.

Of course, he wisely swallowed those words and decided to change his approach to Ginseng's education. There seems to be some parenting advice in the library; I'll go check it out tomorrow if I have time.

An Ge had no idea that her words would lead Rong Zhuo to plunge headlong into the study of childcare.

Early in the morning, An Ge quickly got ready, called Hu Jiu, and headed straight for the door.

The gate is simple in appearance, embedded in a wall, which seems somewhat out of place with the inn's ornate style.

An Ge casually pulled it open. "Hmm? Why can't I open it?"

She tried several more times, but the door remained unmoved. "Things will work themselves out," An Ge thought. She never made things difficult for herself; since she couldn't open it, she might as well give up decisively.

"I'll try." Hu Jiu also tried, but still couldn't open the door.

He frowned, seemingly in disbelief. He was, after all, a powerful expert about to break through to the Nascent Soul stage, and with the special advantages of the demon race, he couldn't even open a single gate.

Seeing Hu Jiu's frustrated expression, An Ge couldn't help but laugh out loud. "Don't worry about it. It won't pose any threat to the inn anyway. I heard that Princess Chang Le is here. Luckily, we still have some of the Gu Gu Beasts that we brought back last time. Let Lao Sun and Lao Wei prepare well to entertain our distinguished guest."

Thinking of the delicious taste of the Gugu Beast, An Ge couldn't help but swallow. An uncontaminated Gugu Beast was definitely a top-notch ingredient.

Hu Jiu was somewhat unwilling, but he could only give up. "I will have someone guard this door. If anything unusual happens, I will notify you immediately."

"Yes!" An Ge nodded. "You really are a great help to this store manager."

"Then the store manager must dote on me!"

"Don't worry, I, the store manager, allow you to be arrogant because of my favor."

Hu Jiu rolled his eyes at her in response.
