Chapter 270

The auctioneer remained unfazed. "Lord Fang, you've really put us in a difficult position. Our Nitan Auction House has a rule to keep auctioneers' information confidential. And to be honest, although this artifact was commissioned by Oris, it wasn't Oris himself who handed it over to our auction house."

Fang Yuanyuan was almost laughing in exasperation; Nitan Auction House was truly something else.

Having been humiliated by the Nitan Auction House, Fang Yuanyuan's eagerness to go to the Central Forest has only increased.

Winter has arrived, and the Central Forest is covered in a blanket of white snow. The closer you get to the center, the greater the danger within the Central Forest.

Besides the terrifying cold, what's even more terrifying here is the unpredictable elemental storms.

The central forest is rich in various elements, and these elements collide with each other, sometimes causing elemental storms.

Especially in winter, seemingly inactive elements, when mixed with wind and snow, can collide violently and generate greater power than in other seasons.

Near the center, in a densely vegetated area, an army was stationed.

"Phew, this awful weather sent us to the Central Forest, aren't we just asking for death?" A soldier rubbed his hands together, breathing out warm air.

“This is the third wave already. Guess what happened to the previous two waves?” Another person didn’t even lift their eyelids, their face lifeless.

"I really don't want to do this anymore. This is just sending us to our deaths. What's the point of guarding this glittering door?"

"Shh, keep your voice down, don't let the people upstairs hear you."

The soldier grumbled indignantly, "They have treasures that can resist elemental storms, why are they using us as cannon fodder?"

The soldiers were full of complaints, and many of the leaders were also resentful.

“Lady Anne, we’ve been guarding this place for days. Even with the treasures Lord Fang gave us, we can’t just keep guarding here and let our soldiers die in vain,” the Holy Elder said, suppressing his anger as he spoke kindly to the young woman.

Anne was probably in her early twenties and not particularly striking in appearance. "If there are any objections, let Wilder communicate with our Lord Fang."

After saying that, he closed his eyes and began to cultivate again.

Although the Central Forest is fraught with danger, it is rich in elements, making it a good place for cultivation.

The elders of the Holy Sect were almost laughing with anger. They didn't know what kind of spell Fang Yuanyuan had cast on them, making them willingly become cannon fodder for the other side.

Thinking of Oris, who had once defected from the Holy Church, the Holy Church elder sighed inwardly.

Perhaps Oris is right; the Holy Church is no longer the Holy Church it once was.

Just then, the Holy Elder suddenly sensed something was wrong with the airflow.

"Oh no, an elemental storm is coming! Everyone, quickly hide in the burrow!"

Hearing the warning, the soldiers who were warming themselves quickly ran to the underground bunker. The next second, the raging wind and snow were like sharp blades, and a terrifying gale swept around them, uprooting century-old trees.

Soldiers who didn't have time to run were torn apart by the gale, without even having a chance to scream.

The elemental storm lasted for a day and a night, and when it ended, only a mess remained.

As the Holy Elder watched the young warriors disappear one by one, his resentment reached its peak. He sent word back, further fueling the anger of the already dissatisfied followers.

Fang Yuanyuan was unaware that she had almost completely lost the support of the people. Of course, even if she knew, she wouldn't care. To her, only those with great power were worthy of her attention; soldiers and civilians were merely cannon fodder in her quest to become a god.

Since it involved the Chosen Ones, Fang Yuanyuan did not bring many people to the Central Forest, only her trusted confidants.

The Central Forest, having just experienced an elemental storm, appeared even more desolate. Fang Yuanyuan and Mote rode their mounts toward the Central Forest.

"How did you end up here?" At the entrance to the Central Forest, Fang Yuanyuan asked Holy Lord Wilder with a frown.

“Lord Fang, the danger of this trip is unknown. Every additional person brings more strength.” Wilder, dressed in red, exuded a holy aura of light.

Fang Yuanyuan didn't think Wilder would have any influence on her, especially with Mott around, so she agreed to his request.

"This matter is very important to me. You and Mott must not fight amongst yourselves." As the leader of the Church of Light, Wilder and Mott were naturally at odds.

Wilder and Mott exchanged a glance, their eyes conveying a meaning that others couldn't decipher. "Don't worry, I know what's important."

Although the Central Forest was dangerous, it was nothing to these people.

Riding on high-level mounts, the group approached the location of the spatial gate in less than two days.

Looking at the gleaming door, Fang Yuanyuan's eyes lit up with surprise.

"Mott, come with me to take a look. Mott?" Suddenly, Fang Yuanyuan realized that she was all alone; the two people who had been with her had disappeared.

Fang Yuanyuan carefully looked around but didn't find anyone else.

"Whoosh!" The sound of elements colliding rang out, and Fang Yuanyuan quickly took out a protective shield to block the attack of the elemental storm.

The elemental storm ended quickly. Before Fang Yuanyuan could react, a torrential downpour of snow fell from the sky, soaking her to the bone. Then, a crackling electric current appeared out of nowhere, giving her a shock.

If Fang Yuanyuan still doesn't realize that someone is behind this, then she's a fool.

"Who goes there, hiding like that?" Fang Yuanyuan was in a disheveled state, her neatly styled hair was disheveled, her crown was askew, and her gorgeous clothes were now tattered.

She was furious. If it weren't for the treasure protecting her, that attack might have nearly killed her.

Suddenly, a long sword appeared out of thin air and stabbed straight at her.

Fang Yuanyuan was caught off guard and was stabbed, bleeding profusely.

"Ah!" Fang Yuanyuan shouted angrily, throwing out a crystal ball. With a "snap," the illusion was shattered.

An Ge looked at the destroyed formation and sighed in disappointment. It seemed trapping her with a formation hadn't worked. Fang Yuanyuan might lack practical combat skills, but she had plenty of treasures.

"Master, the one opposite us is the Chosen One," the Masked God reminded.

Fang Yuanyuan wiped her mouth and saw a young woman holding a white cat, looking at her with a smile.

Upon seeing the other person's appearance, a hint of jealousy flashed across Fang Yuanyuan's face.

"You are the Chosen One?" Fang Yuanyuan was startled. When did she appear? Had the door already opened?

"Hi, long time no see, Fang Yuanyuan. Let me introduce myself, my name is An Ge, and I'm also a Chosen One," An Ge greeted with a smile. Strangely enough, after so much fighting, this was their first official meeting.

Fang Yuanyuan frowned, and judging from the other person's tone, it seemed that they knew her.

"Have we met before?" She didn't remember ever meeting such a Chosen One, and most of the Chosen Ones she had come into contact with were of the opposite sex.

No, that's not right. There was a female chosen one who tried to deceive her before, but she was severely injured and, unsurprisingly, died. It's just a pity that the other party lost her godhood.

"You really have a bad memory. Have you forgotten that you sold me a special studio building back then?"

"It's you! So it was you. You were the one who orchestrated all of this?" She suddenly recalled the Chosen One with whom she had her first transaction.
