Martin had prepared rooms for them deep within the castle. Ango and Beaton followed the butler through the castle without noticing any danger.
Throughout the journey, Beaton remained hesitant to speak. Once the butler left, he finally couldn't hold back any longer.
"Lord An, the vampire clan is extremely dangerous. My king once said that even those with immense strength may suffer losses among vampires, which may be related to their gods."
They don't often have contact with the mainland, but I've heard that their gods communicate with them frequently. Perhaps we're already under their divine watchful eye now.
Beaton's words piqued Ange's interest. "We just wandered into this place by mistake. Even if it were a god, they wouldn't do anything to us, right? Do vampires worship evil gods?"
"No, that's not it. They worship the God of Darkness, and they've never heard of the God of Darkness being an evil god, although his power is certainly not something people like."
"That settles it, what are you worried about?"
Beaton opened his mouth, then swallowed his rebuttal. Wasn't it because Lord An was also an incarnation of a god? No matter how generous other gods were, they wouldn't like having other gods on their territory, right?
After calming Biton down, Ange went to her room. The room was luxurious, showing the owner's attention to detail.
Despite her relaxed demeanor while comforting Bismarck, she remained wary. She genuinely sensed no malice from Martin; he seemed to be sincerely inviting her.
But the more this happened, the more uneasy An Ge became.
Even if she didn't know much about vampires, she knew they weren't easy to deal with. If they feared her power, they could have simply sent her away; why would they invite her to their castle?
Just as An Ge was puzzled, she suddenly noticed someone outside the window. She quickly went forward and only saw a figure fleeing in a disheveled state.
There was a note in the corner of the window, which was obviously just slipped in by the other party.
An Ge didn't know whether the other party was friend or foe, but she didn't sense any danger. She picked up the note and saw the words on it.
Thanks to Xiao Qi, who is still asleep, since it upgraded, she can understand the language of any dimension, so she won't become illiterate.
"It's dangerous here, get out of here immediately." The handwriting on the note was a bit messy, and it was clear that the owner had written it in a panic.
An Ge put away the note and pretended that nothing had happened.
She had always suspected Martin of having a conspiracy, and now she was even more certain, but she didn't know what his plans were.
An Ge's eyes darted around, and she stuck an invisibility talisman on herself before carefully leaving the room. Before leaving, she stuffed a bunch of life-saving items into Beaton's hand, and ignoring his objections, she headed alone towards the castle owner's residence.
With her current strength, she would be undetectable to most people unless she deliberately released her aura.
Following her memory, Ange finally found Martin's place.
She carefully jumped onto a large tree and saw Martin through the window.
After seeing Ange and the other person off, Martin excitedly returned to his room, went straight to a statue, and knelt down devoutly.
"My esteemed God of Darkness, I have brought you new power. However, the strength of that Lord An remains a mystery; he may possess some special trump card. Oh, of course I do not doubt your strength, I merely wish to offer you a heads-up."
You are the greatest God; anyone who violates your rules will become your nourishment. Martin begs you, this time you must not let them go. If they escape, I cannot bear their wrath. I am your most faithful follower; please protect me.”
Martin rambled on for a long time, leaving An Ge completely bewildered. Suddenly, an absurd idea flashed through her mind, but before she could think about it further, she saw the idol flicker, followed by a look of ecstatic joy on Martin's face.
"Thank my God, I will definitely cooperate."
Just as An Ge was about to grab the fleeting spirit stone, she suddenly had a bad feeling. She quickly held her breath and focused her attention, minimizing her presence.
The probing power was so strong that An Ge felt she would be discovered if she revealed even the slightest trace of her aura.
Could it be that the one investigating her is the god of darkness?
The thought that his opponent might be a high and mighty god made An Ge regret his recklessness.
However, this feeling of regret only lasted for a moment, and she quickly recovered.
He was a demigod after all, and he wasn't afraid of Chu Ran when they met last time, so why would he be afraid of an unknown god?
Furthermore, An Ge suspected that the god was subject to certain restrictions, preventing her from appearing in her true form. Even if the other party discovered her, she couldn't personally descend to the mortal realm to do anything to her.
After waiting for a while, An Ge confirmed that the power was gone and carefully returned to her room.
Beaton had been pacing anxiously outside, and when he saw Ange suddenly appear, he breathed a long sigh of relief.
Before Bitton could speak, Ange gave him a wink, called him into her room, and set up an isolation array for herself.
After doing all this, she finally spoke, "How much do you know about vampires?"
Despite his confusion, Beaton answered seriously, "Vampires are just as mysterious as the Abyss Demons. If they didn't have humanity and only developed within their own territory, other races might classify them as the same as the Abyss Demons."
Even so, vampires aren't exactly likable beings. I don't know much about them, only that Wang once told me that almost every vampire was blessed by the gods. The gods bestowed upon them special abilities, but no one knows what those abilities are.
A powerful figure with the strength of a grandmaster once explored the secrets of vampires, but ultimately failed to leave vampire territory. It is said that the territory he visited was only that of a viscount vampire.
After this incident, no one dared to easily set foot in the vampire's territory again. It's all my fault this time; if I hadn't gotten lost, Lord An wouldn't have ended up in this predicament.
At this point, Beaton was overcome with grief. If it weren't for his mission to protect Ange, he would have wanted to atone with his death.
Ange patted Beaton on the shoulder to comfort him, "Don't blame yourself, Beaton. You didn't do it on purpose. I'm actually a very curious person, and this trip to the vampire clan is a good opportunity to investigate their secrets."
You know I'm no ordinary person. Let me tell you a secret: I'm a demigod.
“You’re not a demigod!” Beaton immediately retorted, meeting Ange’s questioning gaze with firm conviction as he continued, “You are clearly a true god.”
Even if it is the mortal body of a true god, it is still a true god!
Ange suddenly didn't know how to start the conversation. She remembered the elves' faith power that was almost solidifying, and suddenly understood something.
"Then, I'll thank you?"
Wow! What else could she say? Even a demigod like her wouldn't have a legitimate claim, and this is a true god!
That unknown deity didn't mean to steal the faith of the elves.
