Wang Jun swallowed hard and reminded them, "Our mission this time is survival. It's not difficult, but it's also the most difficult. The castle ahead is fraught with danger. You must remember what I just said."
After receiving everyone's assurances once again, Wang Jun led them into the castle.
With a creak, the heavy door opened, and everyone was momentarily blinded by a blinding white light. Once their eyes adjusted to the light, they were stunned by the sight before them.
At the long dining table, a strikingly beautiful woman and a handsome man were enjoying their meal. A man in a tuxedo watched them with a helpless expression.
"Gulp." Perhaps the food was too delicious, because someone couldn't help but swallow.
After An Ge had eaten and drunk his fill, he turned to look at the person who had come.
The group consisted of six men and four women, whose attire suggested a life similar to hers in her previous life. Standing at the door, their eyes flashed with amazement upon seeing her.
"Um?"
An Ge raised an eyebrow; she had actually spotted someone interesting in the crowd.
The surprise was fleeting; what intrigued An Ge even more was the aura emanating from them.
In An Ge's eyes, these people were covered with a thick power of rules, and a black aura constantly emanated from them.
These black clouds varied in shades of black; some were almost whitish, while others were so black they looked like they were dripping water, perfectly illustrating what it means to have a multicolored black.
It was as if an invisible force was constantly devouring these auras, but no one noticed.
An Ge was curious about what these gray auras were, but now was not the time to investigate them.
As An Ge was sizing up everyone, Wang Jun and his group were stunned when they saw An Ge's face clearly.
They boasted that they had seen many beautiful women, but this was the first time they had ever seen someone so stunning.
The woman was dressed in a light blue long dress, with her hair styled in an ancient updo, looking like a lady who had stepped out of a painting. Her Eastern features were completely out of place in this ancient castle; she clearly didn't belong there.
Her behavior exuded elegance, and she seemed completely unconcerned about her surroundings, even enjoying her food and drink.
When Wu Ya saw the woman's appearance, her eyes widened in surprise.
Why does this person look so much like that slut? It's just that the person in front of me has more refined features and more harmonious facial features.
If that person's appearance was an 8 out of 10, then this person in front of me would be a 10 out of 10.
The other person didn't seem to pay any special attention to me, so it couldn't be that person.
Wu Ya was already jealous of good-looking people, and what's more, this good-looking person looked somewhat like her enemy.
A look of disgust flashed across Wu Ya's face at the thought of that person.
Li Heng, standing beside him, seemed dazed, as if he had thought of something. But he was still rational enough to know that this person couldn't possibly be An Ge.
Feeling the pressure on his arm, Li Heng gave Wu Ya a reassuring smile.
An Ge had no idea what the others were thinking. She had originally planned to chat with them for a bit, but seeing those two familiar faces ruined her mood.
That's right, An Ge also had a dramatic backstory in her previous life.
It's nothing more than a cliché story of a poor boy marrying a rich girl, becoming wealthy, and then abandoning his wife and children. And An Ge is that abandoned boy.
Since An Ge could remember, her scumbag father had rarely appeared. However, she could occasionally see her stepsister, since they went to the same school.
Being abandoned by her scumbag father didn't have much of an impact on her; there was no so-called revenge or a battle of wits with her wicked stepmother.
Although her maternal grandfather's family had fallen on hard times, she had lived a relatively comfortable life from childhood. Her relatives passed away early, leaving her all alone, but she was still quite happy.
If there is any, it's that she feels a bit resentful. Whether in her studies or at work, she strives to do her best and doesn't want to be looked down upon.
She was a top student at school, yet her scumbag father had never acknowledged her. Knowing him as she did, he knew his daughter was successful and wouldn't just stand by and do nothing.
It can only be said that her stepsister's methods certainly played a part in this.
For this, An Ge should thank her; the absence of malicious people to annoy her allowed her to be happy and at ease.
The past had faded away with her departure, and An Ge had hardly thought about those people. Unexpectedly, in this vast world, she actually ran into an acquaintance.
The probability is like billions of people buying lottery tickets, and she winning the grand prize.
"I'm finished eating, I'm going back to my room now." After saying that, An Ge wiped her mouth, nodded to the butler, and led Beaton to her room.
She harbored no resentment towards those people, but that didn't mean she would ignore their actions. Standing idly by was already the greatest act of kindness she could offer; to lend a hand? Don't be ridiculous. Even if she were a saint, she wouldn't use her saintly heart for this.
After the two left, everyone was stunned for a long time.
Are they even players?
However, they quickly lost interest in thinking about these things, because the butler turned his attention to them, and the survival game officially began.
An Ge had no interest in how the group spent the dinner meticulously prepared by the housekeeper. The reason she hadn't left yet was because she hadn't figured out what the deity behind it all truly wanted.
Luck? Maybe, but it certainly isn't everything.
An Ge thought of the Qi Luck Bottle that had been destroyed, and always felt that the bottle was inextricably linked to the god behind it.
The ability to absorb good fortune is not something everyone can possess; otherwise, wouldn't the world be in chaos?
She had no intention of isolating herself from these people; after all, she still needed to find secrets from them.
But she definitely couldn't contact him in front of the housekeeper; she needed to carefully cultivate the image of a polite guest.
"Lord An, do you know them?" Beaton was unusually clever for once.
An Ge shook her head. "I don't know them, but I'd like to contact them if I have the chance. If they find us, try not to say anything."
An Ge thought for a moment, then reminded him. With Beaton's simple-minded personality, if someone with ulterior motives tried to get information out of him, he would readily reveal everything about himself.
"Yes, yes, I'll be mute from now on." Beaton knew he wasn't very smart, and the more he said, the more mistakes he would make, so he simply kept quiet.
An Ge. "...It's not that bad."
But Beaton was determined to play dumb to the end; his expression made it seem as if anyone who tried to make him speak was his enemy.
Ever since Martin tried to kick the two out, the power of the rules in their room has disappeared.
There must be a price to pay for unleashing the power of the rules; since the two of them had lost their value, even the gods couldn't be bothered with them.
All I can say is that the gods are too real.
About an hour later, Ange heard some commotion outside. It seemed they had finished their meal and gone back to their rooms to rest.
Martin probably didn't expect that, as a "holdout," she wouldn't leave, and that the guesthouse for outsiders was not far from hers.
When An Ge heard the housekeeper leave, she opened the door and saw ten people looking at each other in the doorway.
