Chapter 303

Martin couldn't even maintain a smile when facing An Ge. "Miss An, you are my guest, and sometimes you have to follow my rules."

"Don't worry, I'm just here to watch the fun. You guys continue." Ange seemed not to understand Martin's words and sat down on her own, with Beaton standing behind her like a guard.

Martin was furious. Time was of the essence, and he didn't want to waste any more time talking to An Ge. He turned to the guests and said, "Let's begin the mission."

An Ge's appearance relieved the tense crowd. Regardless of whether An Ge was a player or not, she was clearly not someone who would take lives indiscriminately.

But Wu Ya's eyes widened in surprise when she heard Martin address An Ge by his name.

Boss Cuihua, her surname is actually An?

Before Wu Ya could think further, she saw Ren Yuxi walk out first. Everyone was startled and looked at Ren Yuxi with admiration.

Ren Yuxi didn't know why she had such courage. Maybe it was because she had met Boss Cuihua?

“My dear Earl Martin, I am the most beautiful flower, only I am worthy of you.”

Martin looked at the flowers with an inscrutable expression.

Just as Ren Yuxi was feeling uneasy, Martin smiled and said, "Very good, I like it very much."

Seeing the divine power descend, An Ge breathed a sigh of relief. It seemed her guess was correct; Martin was indeed as narcissistic as he appeared.

Ren Yuxi set a good example for everyone, and then Yang San and Mo Pengfei also successfully completed their tasks.

When it was Wang Jun's turn, something unexpected happened. Martin seemed a little dissatisfied when he heard Wang Jun's praise and was about to get angry when he heard An Ge say, "Huh? Don't you like it? Or do you think you don't deserve these compliments?"

I think it's great. Look how well they described it: handsome face, powerful strength—it's clearly describing you!

Martin's words were stuck in his throat, leaving him in a dilemma.

If he doesn't let the other person pass, it means he doesn't live up to the praise, wouldn't that be a slap in his own face?

Ultimately, it's all An Ge's fault!

While Martin hesitated, Wang Jun was so frightened that he stopped breathing for a moment. When he heard the news that it had been approved, the 1.8-meter-tall man almost burst into tears of joy.

Yao Zhu successfully completed the mission, and what interested An Ge was that no divine power descended upon her.

Only Li Heng and Wu Ya remained, and a rift had formed between them because of what had happened before. But at this moment, they couldn't care less about each other, because their expressions hadn't been normal ever since Ren Yuxi completed her mission.

The count's favorite person was actually himself? Why would that be?

Li Heng and Wu Ya were tasked with making a pair of shoes and a hat for the Earl's favorite person, respectively. They worked clumsily for several days, only to mistakenly choose the wrong person.

I could handle other things, but they're serving women.

Martin looked at Li Heng and Wu Ya with a gloomy gaze. "What, you didn't prepare anything?"

Even with his cleverness, Li Heng couldn't help but break out in a cold sweat at this moment. He couldn't take it out; he absolutely couldn't take it out.

Just then, Wu Ya took out a lady's hat and said tremblingly, "I... I prepared a hat for the future wife of the Duke."

"It's over!" That was Li Heng's first reaction.

It was not just a lady's hat; it was also a hat for the dead.

They initially suspected that the count's wife might have died. Although there was no trace of the countess in the castle, they found a portrait in a secluded corner of the garden, depicting a pretty woman and a young boy.

Based on various melodramatic plot points, Wu Ya deduced that the woman in the portrait was likely the Earl's deceased wife.

Li Heng couldn't find any other clues and finally accepted Wu Ya's guess.

Even now, Wu Ya still believes she was right.

An Ge was somewhat surprised when she saw the portrait. She didn't recognize the woman in the portrait, but the boy, judging from his age, seemed to be the one she had met.

What surprised her even more was that the butler seemed more nervous than the count was angry.

Martin, seething with anger, was about to strike when he suddenly remembered something and asked, squinting, "Where did you get this portrait?"

Wu Ya was already terrified and speechless, her mouth trembling.

The atmosphere grew increasingly tense. Just as everyone was waiting for Martin to decide the fate of the group, a little boy suddenly burst into the castle.

"You bad guy, give me back my portrait!"

"It's you. You're still alive. Good, butler. I never expected you to betray me." Who else but the butler could possibly hide a living person in his territory?

The butler quickly knelt down, looked at the boy with sorrow in his eyes, and said, "I am willing to be punished, I only beg you to spare him."

"Let him go? How could I! Kid, I was just looking for you, and you delivered yourself right to my doorstep."

The little boy seemed indifferent to everything, his eyes fixed on the portrait in Martin's hand.

The sudden plot twist left everyone stunned.

It seems there's a grudge between the NPCs. Will they be affected?

Just then, everyone heard a mechanical voice; it turned out they had survived long enough.

Martin only then realized that because of this little incident, the survival time had already expired.

The double blow nearly drove Martin to madness, but then he remembered something and smiled, “Congratulations on surviving seven days. I have some matters to attend to, so I won’t see you off.”

Wang Jun didn't feel the force pushing them outwards, so he still didn't dare to relax.

"What? You still want to stay?"

Everyone shook their heads vigorously, glanced at Martin, and quickly headed out of the castle.

They all heard what sounded like the system's voice, so there couldn't be any traps. If they didn't leave now, when would they?

Wang Jun glanced at An Ge, then at one of the other people, his eyes questioning. Seeing An Ge nod, his long-held suspicions were finally confirmed.

Even after the group left, the atmosphere in the hall remained heavy.

Martin then remembered that there was another guest present. "Miss An, these are my private matters, and I hope you will excuse us."

Having been here for so long, this was the first time Martin had made such a direct request to Ango.

"Oh, so what if I don't avoid it?" Having finished watching the show and absorbed all the divine power, she was too lazy to play games with Martin anymore.

Martin's expression turned cold. "So, you mean you want to oppose me?"

"Oh, so you're not pretending anymore? We've been putting on an act for each other for a while now, it's exhausting. Let me guess, why are you so willing to break off the facade?" An Ge seemed to be seriously considering the matter.

"Ah, I see. You thought the power of the rules would obliterate me?"

"So you knew all along! So what if you can sense this power? With the gods around, no matter how powerful you are, it's useless."

To everyone's surprise, An Ge's smile widened even more after hearing about the gods.

"Haven't you noticed that there are fewer and fewer rules here?"
