Chapter 350

Having just finished his clan affairs, Nat arrived at the inn somewhat speechlessly, as Leonard had once again become his accomplice.

That's right, it's entanglement!

"What's wrong with you lately? The matter between our two clans has been resolved, so why are you still..." Nate thought for a long time but couldn't think of a suitable word to describe it.

To say he disliked him, Leonard would always seek him out whenever the two were at the inn.

To be honest, people used to be friendly to him, but lately they've become indifferent and even a bit wary of him.

"Did I do anything to offend you?"

Leonard was silent for a moment, then said, "Of course not." He then shut his mouth and calmly sipped his tea.

If Lord An hadn't specifically told him to spend more time with Nate, he wouldn't have come here to suffer. Nate is too terrifying; if he's not careful, the other might realize that he's already on guard.

Nat stared at Leonard for a long time, then suddenly a thought flashed through his mind: Could this guy be afraid that Lord An will favor them?

It's better not to think about it, because the thought of it makes Nate's worries rise.

Although he treats An Ge like a friend, he holds her in the highest esteem. There is only one God, but countless believers; God's love is not enough to go around.

They were the first true believers of God on the mainland. How shameful it would be if other continents stole God's favor!

“I suddenly remembered I have something to do, so I’ll go back to my tribe first.” Nat became more and more anxious, wishing he could hurry back to his tribe to discuss this matter with the other races.

Leonard breathed a sigh of relief after Nate left. He carefully reviewed his performance and felt confident that everything was fine.

Unbeknownst to Ange, the believers began to swirl around. Ange was somewhat puzzled as she felt streams of pure faith power surging towards her.

I feel like I haven't done anything during this time, so how come their faith has deepened again?

As for the few fanatical believers, their faith had long since reached its limit, yet they appeared before her more and more frequently.

Even Hogg, who had been busy with his clan, returned to the inn.

It had been a while since I'd seen Hogg; aside from being a bit darker-skinned, he seemed to be in good spirits.

"Have you finished with the clan affairs?" Ange was still very happy to see Hogg.

Hogg chuckled, "The clan is basically stable now, as long as I go back every now and then."

"So you're saying you'll be staying at the inn permanently from now on?" An Ge asked curiously. She thought that given Hogg's personality, the inn was just a place he would occasionally stay when he returned.

Hogg nodded. "I prefer life at the inn to life in the clan. My forging skills have improved a lot recently, so I'll go to the foundry and make something nice for the manager."

After saying that, he chatted with An Ge for a few more minutes before hurrying off to the foundry.

Hogg was telling the truth. During his time in the clan, although he was respected by all sides, many people who approached him had their own ulterior motives.

The more things were like this, the more he missed the simple environment of the inn.

Originally, I felt a little guilty towards my tribe when I returned to the inn, until the Elf King Nat summoned the innkeeper's followers and told them about another follower who had stolen the god's favor.

Upon hearing this, Hogg immediately forgot all his guilt towards his clan.

Although their tribe wasn't particularly devout in their faith in the gods, that didn't include him. Hogg's sense of crisis intensified, especially when he learned that the person in charge was a dwarf.

Nothing is more important than gaining the favor of the gods!

So Hogg refused the dwarf chieftain's repeated attempts to persuade him to stay and resolutely returned to the inn.

The long-closed foundry has reopened, and the most excited people, besides those in the martial arts world, are Cook.

He had considered the foundry owner as a potential enemy for a long time, and now he was finally able to meet him.

In the foundry, two dwarves from different planes met for the first time.

Cook sized Hogg up and down. Size? Not as tall. Looks? Hogg was much better looking! Strength? Needless to say. Clothing? Although gorgeous, those were all superficial.

Overall, this dwarf in front of me is no match for me.

As Cook sized him up, Hogg was also sizing up Cook.

Putting aside external conditions, his status as a grandmaster-level blacksmith alone would make this dwarf utterly worthless.

Hogg didn't say anything, but took out the equipment he had made and arranged them one by one.

Cook was thinking of giving the other party a scare first, but when he saw the equipment on the display stand, he was so surprised that his mouth dropped open.

Although his forging level was not high, he could still feel the power contained within it.

This unassuming dwarf has an exceptional skill in forging!

Cook looked down, his eyes darting around, then looked up with a warm smile on his face.

"This must be a member of our race from another dimension. It's great to finally meet you. I've heard Lord An mention you before, and seeing you in person, you are indeed extraordinary."

When the other party mentioned the store manager, Hogg lowered his guard.

"Did the store manager mention me?"

"Of course!" Cook said confidently, after all, he had mentioned it once before. "You really are just as I imagined."

Then, for the first time in his decades-long life, Hogg heard so many words of praise. His initial hostility and defensiveness gradually turned into surprise and joy.

In the end, the two dwarves, who were not originally on good terms, were chatting and laughing like long-lost brothers, with wine bottles in hand.

“Brother Hogg, I really envy you, a Grandmaster of Forging, the pride of the Dwarves.” After hearing Hogg’s words, Cook learned about the different levels of forging and was even more grateful that he hadn’t offended this Grandmaster.

"Hey, this is all thanks to the store manager. You'll have a chance to do this in the future too."

"The shopkeeper gave me a book about alchemy before. I've only just started learning it, and I'm not even a beginner yet."

Hogg was taken aback. "What alchemy book?"

"It's a pity that I left the information about casting with my clan; otherwise, I could have asked you for advice."

Hogg was tempted, but then a pang of jealousy struck him. The shopkeeper was so kind to these dwarves. He didn't feel it was unfair, though; after all, the shopkeeper had been good to him too.

"Then will you bring the cultivation manual next time you come?"

“That’s great! You know our clan’s forging skills are terrible, it’s embarrassing for dwarves to even talk about it. We’ll have to rely on you for guidance in the future. We’re all dwarves, no matter which continent we’re on, we’re all one family. We can’t let other races take away our dwarves’ place.”

These words struck a chord with Hogg. Yes, elves and those half-breeds all live in groups, while the dwarves of their continent don't stick together. Why should he help Nat?

After figuring it out, Hogg looked at Cook with even more affection.

When Cook came out of the foundry, he had already reached some kind of secret agreement with Hogg.
