"Host, would you like to enter the Boundless Space now?"
An Ge took a deep breath and said, "Enter!"
As soon as she finished speaking, An Ge found herself in an empty room.
"Welcome to the Boundless Space. Please select the project you wish to study."
Then, several choices appeared before An Ge, including music, chess, calligraphy, painting, cooking, woodworking, and more. An Ge skipped through them one by one and found the skill she wanted to learn.
"Martial arts".
"Learning a basic martial art will cost 100,000 points, but will not consume reputation points. Confirm your selection!"
"Does each item consume different points?" 100,000 points is not a small amount for An Ge.
"Yes, host, would you like to continue choosing a martial art?"
"yes!"
An Ge felt a wave of dizziness, and the next moment her figure disappeared.
"Huh? Why did the host go to that dimension?" 777's puzzled voice came the next second after An Ge disappeared.
Hu Jiu, who was busy at work, seemed to sense something and quickly arrived at the gate of An Ge.
When Ange woke up, she found herself in a cave, where sunlight streamed in through a gap in the ceiling, illuminating the cave brightly.
The cave was very spacious, making the sound of dripping water all the more noticeable.
An Ge searched carefully, but couldn't find a single living creature, let alone a human figure.
"There isn't even a secret manual, who am I supposed to learn martial arts from?" An Ge couldn't help but mutter, all those stories in novels about caves containing unparalleled secret manuals are fake.
Concealing her panic, An Ge carefully walked out of the cave.
Fortunately, the cave wasn't deep, and An Ge soon emerged from it.
This was a boundless forest, with tall trees densely surrounding the area, blocking out the sunlight. Only occasionally could light and shadow pass through the gaps between the leaves, casting dappled shadows that obscured Ange's view.
In the distance, the hazy, dark clouds loomed overhead like a mountain, creating an intense sense of oppression. A few eerie sounds rang out, sending a shiver down An Ge's spine and instantly snapping her back to reality.
This was not an ordinary forest she had ever seen.
"What kind of hell is this place?" An Ge sighed, looking up at the sky.
"What are you yelling about, you little brat?" A voice came from behind, startling An Ge.
Looking in the direction of the sound, she saw an elderly man with white hair and a youthful face stroking his beard, looking at her with a displeased expression.
The old man was dressed in hemp clothing, with a wine gourd hanging from his waist and a wooden stick supporting him in his hand. He looked like a wise and otherworldly being.
Just by looking at her, An Ge was reminded of four words: a reclusive master!
"What are you all standing there for? Hurry up and come over to become my apprentice!"
An Ge pointed to herself and asked uncertainly, "Are you calling me?"
"Who else could it be but you? There are only the two of us here. If I don't call you, am I calling you a ghost?" The old man's face grew even more displeased. Was his apprentice some kind of idiot?
Having understood the old man's meaning, An Ge was somewhat speechless.
Forget it, this is the martial arts teacher assigned to her by the system, so she won't argue with an old person.
Although this master seems very unreliable.
"Master, please accept my bow!" An Ge was about to kneel down, imitating the etiquette shown on TV, when she felt her knees being supported by an invisible force.
"He's truly a master!" An Ge's eyes lit up as she looked at the old man.
The old man was very satisfied with An Ge's performance, and then resumed his serious demeanor.
"Since you've already called me Master, there's no need for those formalities. Just work hard in the future and don't embarrass your master." After saying that, he tossed something to An Ge.
An hurriedly caught it and discovered it was a jade bracelet. The bracelet was emerald green, with a shimmering light inside, and looked quite extraordinary.
"Thank you, Master." An Ge didn't stand on ceremony with her master and happily put on the bracelet.
The old man watched An Ge's actions with a smile in his eyes.
"Take a good look at these things first." After saying that, he tossed a book to An Ge.
An Ge glanced down at the book, then looked up again, but her master was nowhere to be seen.
"As expected, he's unreliable!" An Ge complained. What kind of master would abandon a newly accepted disciple and leave without explaining anything?
Despite her complaints, An Ge resigned herself to her fate and returned to the cave with her book.
"At least with Master here, there shouldn't be any danger around here."
The "Yunyan Heart Method" in her hand is a basic internal energy cultivation method. Following the setting in the novel, An Ge crossed her legs, took a deep breath, and solemnly opened the book.
Then she realized she didn't recognize the words here!
An Ge stared blankly at the worm-like characters. She, a top student, had somehow become illiterate here.
Just as she was feeling extremely frustrated, the words on the book suddenly seemed to come alive, flooding into An Ge's mind one by one.
After a headache subsided, An Ge was able to understand the words in the book again.
An Ge opened the book and silently memorized it. Thanks to her photographic memory, she only needed to read it once to remember the contents.
An Ge felt something was off. Wasn't she practicing ancient martial arts? Why was this book detailing spiritual roots?
An Ge kept calling out to the system in her mind, but the system didn't respond at all, as if it didn't exist.
"Never mind, I'll just cultivate immortality then, as long as it increases my strength. But do I have spiritual roots?"
According to the book, all cultivators must possess spiritual roots. Those with a single spiritual root cultivate the fastest, followed by others.
Spiritual roots are not the deciding factor; comprehension is more important. Many cultivators with mixed spiritual roots can also achieve success through continuous effort.
However, without spiritual roots, one is undoubtedly destined to be unable to cultivate immortality.
With a try-it-and-see attitude, An Ge placed her hands on her knees, palms facing up, and silently recited the exercise.
Soon, countless green dots surged toward her.
