Chapter Ninety-Five

An Ge saw the dwarf icon in the reward space, hesitated for a moment, but still clicked on the avatar. A flash of white light appeared, and a short but muscular dwarf appeared before her.

He was probably less than a meter tall, with a long beard that almost dragged on the ground. His big eyes looked at An Ge with great vigilance, and he held the warhammer in front of his chest, looking like he was ready to fight to the death.

Next to the dwarf icon in the rewards section, there is a simple note about the other party.

Name: Hogg

Race: Dwarfs

Characteristics: Skilled in forging, possesses great strength.

An Ge felt a little awkward, unsure how to greet him. Should she say, "Hi, you're the prize I won?"

Unlike An Ge's embarrassment, Hogg was not only wary but also extremely puzzled. Just a moment ago he was hiding from pursuers, how did he suddenly appear in an unfamiliar place?

Thinking of his people's plight, his hatred for humans intensified, and his gaze toward An Ge changed from wary to hostile.

An Ge was confused. She hadn't even said anything yet, so how had she offended him?

"I don't know how you got in here, but I saved your life, so you didn't have to fight me right away, did you?" An Ge couldn't help but complain, recalling the description of the reward.

Hogg then remembered that when he was desperately running away, he had heard God's message that he could leave the dangerous situation if he agreed to become a reward.

Seeing that the enemy was about to catch up, he had no time to think and agreed to the god's request. He then lost consciousness and when he woke up, he saw the human race in front of him.

But why is their dwarf god a human?

Regardless, his life had been saved by the human before him, and the dwarves always knew how to repay kindness. Thinking this, the wariness in Hogg's eyes faded, replaced by gratitude.

An Ge breathed a sigh of relief; as long as she wasn't hostile, that was good. As for anything else, she wouldn't insist.

This dwarf is different from Aunt Dan, and he is not an employee she recruited. There is no contract between them. An Ge really doesn't know what to do with him for the time being.

"Where am I? Why did you save me?"

"This is my inn, and it should be a new world for you. As for why I saved you, perhaps it's a special fate between us?"

Of all the rewards, she just happened to draw a dwarf. Isn't that an incredible stroke of luck? Besides, even though she hadn't learned dwarven language, she could understand what he was saying, and she believed he could too.

Ange attributed this situation to the mysterious power of divinity.

Hogg tilted his head in confusion. Although he couldn't understand the god's words for the moment, he was safe for now. Only then did he realize how exhausted he was and that he hadn't eaten for several days.

"Gurgle!"

A protest came from his stomach, making Hogg somewhat embarrassed. His stomach was so uncooperative; it was a disgrace to the dwarves.

Seeing the other person's embarrassment and exhaustion, An Ge calmly said, "Eat something and get some rest. As for other issues, we can talk about them after you've rested."

Hogg understood the other party's good intentions and felt grateful for Ange's thoughtfulness.

"My name is Hogg, and I am the master blacksmith of the dwarves." Hogg's tone was filled with pride. Dwarves are known for their skill in blacksmithing, and his level was among the best in the tribe.

An Ge was overjoyed. A master forging master! Even if she didn't know the specific forging level system, she could understand that a master was an outstanding figure. No wonder it was a purple-grade reward.

"My name is An Ge, and I am the owner of this inn."

After the two exchanged names, the atmosphere improved considerably.

After Hogg left, Ange breathed a sigh of relief. Many of the rewards were targeted at dwarves, and she was confident she could keep them there. However, their origins were a mystery, so she had to be extra careful.

"Xiao Qi, how come there are creatures from other dimensions in the reward pool?"

"If the other party is in contact with the master, this situation may occur, but it is extremely rare. Xiao Qi is not entirely sure about the specifics, and the master will have to explore it himself."

"But how did I get involved with the dwarves again?" Ange rubbed her temples, her head aching, when suddenly an idea flashed through her mind.

"Wait a minute, if there really is a connection, it's only that we traded a bottle of wine in the host space before. If it's because of that, it's too far-fetched."

Ange thought for a long time, but apart from this reason, she really couldn't think of anything else that could be related to dwarves.

"Never mind, let's ask Hogg properly after he's rested."

An Ge found Hu Jiu and the others and told them about Hogg.

The group was puzzled as to why a dwarf would appear, but they understood after hearing An Ge's explanation.

Hu Jiu, who clearly had a better understanding of different planes, wasn't too surprised. "Godhood ignores the existence of planes, so it's understandable that he can summon beings from other planes. For now, he seems to be a friend, not an enemy, so let's keep him here for now."

Chang Jin frowned, thought for a moment, and then reminded him: "In my plane, there are dwarves. They usually live alone, are highly skilled in forging, are very powerful, and are quite arrogant. They don't easily come into contact with humans."

Even among dwarves, a master blacksmith is respected. For him to be being hunted down suggests he's in considerable trouble.

Ange thought of the hatred in Hogg's eyes and knew he must have an unusual past, but his gratitude for knowing she was his savior was genuine. She couldn't believe that such a grateful person could be such a villain.

“Now that I’ve summoned him, there’s no reason for me to ignore him. I’ll talk to him after he’s rested. If he really is a threat, then we can deal with him later.”

"I'll go with you," Hu Jiuyou said reassuredly.

An Ge shook her head. "Don't worry, I'm not someone to be trifled with now. Hogg is very wary, and it's inconvenient for you to be here." She cultivates every day now, and is at least a first-rate expert in this world. She can't rely on Hu Jiu for everything.

Looking at the determination in An Ge's eyes, Hu Jiu nodded helplessly. His little girl had grown up, and he couldn't help but feel a little lost.

Hogg slept for almost a day and a night, and when he woke up it was already evening. He looked at the sunset through the magical glass and felt somewhat dazed.

For six months, he was constantly on the run, barely getting a proper rest. Now, suddenly finding peace, he felt a strange mix of emotions. He wondered how his people were doing. If the gods could save him, did that mean they could save his people too?

Thinking of this, Hogg quickly packed up and left the guest room, found the person who had arranged the room for him, and asked to see Ange.

After hearing the news that Hogg had woken up, An Ge asked Chef Sun to prepare some food and also specially instructed him to prepare a pot of good wine so that he could fill his stomach first.

Hogg looked at the abundant food and delicious wine before him and couldn't help but swallow hard. Although he was exhausted yesterday, he was still impressed by the food and wine, and since he was hungry now, he began to devour the food without any hesitation.

Thinking of how considerate Ange was, Hogg completely let down his guard and enjoyed the rare meal to the fullest.
