Chapter Seventy-Nine

To their surprise, an accident occurred after they stepped out of the forest barrier.

Luoxia Town is a small town located near the Tianyan Sect. It happened to be the ten-year opening of the sect's gates, and the originally sparsely populated town welcomed seekers of immortality from all directions.

Inside the inn, a woman with a cool and aloof demeanor sat by the window, sighing and lamenting, while a plump orange cat wagged its tail listlessly in her arms.

This person was none other than An Ge, who had gone through countless hardships to reach the vicinity of the Tianyan Sect.

Recalling the hardships she had endured along the way, An Ge couldn't help but shed two streams of tears. She and her master had crossed the forest barrier, but she never expected that she would find herself in a strange village the next second, and her master's figure would disappear without a trace.

Just when she was at a loss, she luckily encountered a little demon. They noticed the jade pendant hanging around An Ge's neck and, for some reason, firmly believed that she was the young mistress of the demon clan.

With Xiao Yao's enthusiastic accompaniment, she made inquiries from various sources before finally arriving at Luoxia Town in front of the Tianyan Sect's opening gate.

"777, do you think if I directly tell the people from the Tianyan Sect my master's name, they'll let me in?"

The system, now in the form of an orange cat, yawned. "It'll probably just kick the host out."

"You're just a transformed cat, not a real cat, so why are your habits becoming more and more like a cat's?" She was quite surprised when she first saw 777 appear. According to the system, this plane has abundant spiritual energy, allowing it to appear as a spirit pet.

"They're limited by the type of demon beast they can transform into, so they can't control it. Once the inn is upgraded next time, they'll be able to transform into even more powerful demon beasts."

The communication between the person and the cat in their minds dispelled An Ge's unease about arriving here.

Although there are many cultivators in this world, even in the towns closest to cultivation sects, mortals still make up the majority. Upon first seeing a woman with such an extraordinary temperament as An Ge, many people's first impression is that she is a disciple of some major sect. Therefore, even though their eyes are filled with amazement, no one dares to act rashly.

"Is this fairy from the Tianyan Sect?" An Ge was staring out the window in a daze when she heard the question and came back to her senses. The person who came was a young man dressed in fine clothes, about twenty years old, and he had a faint spiritual aura about him.

An Ge responded politely, "Not yet? Is there anything you need, young master?" Her master was from the Tianyan Sect, but she herself had not yet formally joined the sect.

Yu Xinghe couldn't sense the other party's cultivation level, but judging from her ethereal figure, she must also be a cultivator. "I am the seventh prince of the Tianfeng Dynasty, and I am on my way to the Tianyan Sect. May I ask if I may accompany you, young lady?"

An Ge saw that although there was a flash of amazement in the other person's eyes, his gaze was clear and upright, so he did not feel offended. Just as he was about to speak, he saw the little demon who had gone to find out the news running over in a hurry.

“Young Madam, I’ve found out what you asked me to find out. Oh? And who is this?” Xiong Dazhuang asked, puzzled.

Yu Xinghe was speechless for a moment. "Young Madam?" If he wasn't mistaken, the person in front of him should be a demon.

Although there wasn't much animosity between the human and demon races on the Tianxuan Continent, he never imagined that the young mistress of the demon race would be a human. "You're the young mistress of the demon race?"

An Ge rubbed her forehead in exasperation. She didn't know why, but Xiong Dazhuang was convinced that she was the young mistress of the demon clan. Although that would probably be the case in the future, she wasn't ready to admit it yet.

Just as An Ge was about to explain, she heard Xiong Dazhuang say confidently, "Of course she is. She has the mark of our young master Hu Jiu on her body. Who else could she be but our young mistress?"

Xiong Dazhuang may seem foolish, but he's shrewder than anyone else. The way this man is looking at the young mistress is suspicious. The young master has finally found a wife; he'd better keep a close watch on her while the young master is away.

Yu Xinghe was shocked. The mark of a nine-tailed fox is only given to its mate.

"So you are the young mistress of the demon clan. I was being presumptuous."

"Hehe, no offense, I just found out myself." An Ge gritted her teeth, looking at Xiong Dazhuang with a dangerous glint in her eyes.

Yu Xinghe felt strange, but seeing Xiong Dazhuang's eyes that seemed to see through his thoughts, he didn't have time to think too much. He greeted An Ge and left.

Looking at the honest-looking Xiong Dazhuang, An Ge realized after spending a few days with him that although he seemed honest, he was actually full of bad intentions. "Tell me properly, what exactly is this mark?"

Seeing that An Ge's expression didn't seem like a joke, Xiong Dazhuang asked with some surprise, "Young Madam, didn't the young master tell you that the mark of a nine-tailed fox can only be given to a partner?"

An Ge was speechless, and couldn't help but mutter, "When did Hu Jiu mark me?" It had only been a few days since she last saw him, but she already missed him a little.

Xiong Dazhuang breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that An Ge wasn't angry, but rather a little shy. He was glad he hadn't ruined his young master's plans, but honestly, his young master was really something—why didn't he tell his young mistress about something so important?

"By the way, is there any news about my master?"

When this was mentioned, Xiong Dazhuang looked at An Ge with admiration, "You are indeed worthy of being my young mistress. Lingxiao Zhenjun is a rare Nascent Soul cultivator on the continent. Many people want to become his disciples, but I heard that he has never intended to take on any disciples. I never thought he would be your master, Madam."

An Ge opened her mouth, "So my master is this amazing?" She had only heard Hu Jiu mention it briefly, and didn't really know the specifics of her master.

"But now it will be even harder to see him. My master is really something, disappearing without leaving me any token." The Qiankun Bracelet is a divine artifact, and she dares not show it to anyone easily. She put the bracelet away on her first day in this world.

Jiang Shang, who was being thought of by An Ge, was pacing back and forth anxiously.

"Junior brother, you've been searching for days, and still no news of your junior nephew?" He recalled how shocked he had been when he first heard that his junior brother had a disciple. But not long after, he saw his junior brother angrily banging on the mountaintop.

If I hadn't arrived in time, given my junior brother's volatile temper, the entire Tianwu Peak would probably have collapsed.

Jiang Shang sighed, "My disciple is unfamiliar with this place and people. If something happens to him, where can I find another disciple as talented, considerate, and adorable as him?"

Xun Kuang rolled his eyes inelegantly. These past few days, all he had done was watch his junior brother worry and listen to him boast about his disciple.

Xun Kuang knew that although Jiang Shang was sometimes unreliable, he would not make mistakes on important matters. If what he said was true, then this junior apprentice's talent could not be described as mere genius.

"Junior brother, please calm down. Your niece knows you are in the Tianyan Sect, so she will definitely come. Perhaps she will even participate in the opening of the sect this time."

Seeing Jiang Shang's puzzled look, he continued to explain, "It's not advisable for Junior Brother to announce his acceptance of a disciple yet, and we can't openly search for her either. With my nephew's cleverness, she must know that even if she reveals her identity, the sect won't believe her. The best way is for her to blend in with the crowd as a seeker of immortality."

After hearing this, Jiang Shang felt a little calmer. "I hope so. Then I'll go and see what's going on this time when they're accepting disciples."

Soon, news spread that Lingxiao Zhenjun would appear at the opening ceremony.
