Chapter Ten

An Ge immediately perked up and jumped up from the sofa. Was she finally going to have a chance to have internet access?

She had to accept it! Mission failure? Impossible! She would unleash her full power, not only to upgrade the inn but also to fulfill the wish of that man named Xiao Chen.

The next day, An Ge stretched and yawned, full of energy.

As expected of furniture with inherent properties, it not only relieves fatigue but also allows users to have a good night's sleep.

An Ge put on a light blue long dress, the style of which was somewhat similar to Hanfu from her previous life. She also styled her hair in a simple braid. With her naturally cool and aloof appearance, she looked ethereal and otherworldly.

Ange spent the morning planting the vegetables she bought from the online store: tomatoes, bok choy, cucumbers, radishes... These vegetables are frequently consumed, and because of their high quality, they are expensive in the online store. Ange hopes to reduce costs by growing them herself.

Looking at the results of her hard work, An Ge felt relieved. With food in hand, she was no longer worried. Even if she had no income in the future, she wouldn't have to rely solely on the free food provided by the system.

Primary farmland is not affected by the seasons, meaning that crops can be planted in any season and can be adapted to the crop's growth needs in a timely manner.

Looking at the tiny water droplets on the farmland, An Ge resignedly picked up the water and began to irrigate, the thought of hiring people resurfacing once again.

The forest after the rain exudes a unique freshness, and on the slightly muddy road, a caravan is making its way forward with difficulty.

A carriage was mixed in with the caravan, clearly indicating that they were from two different groups of people.

Inside the carriage, the elderly woman, nearing fifty, looked out the window with some worry and said, "There's no village or shop in sight, and if it rains, there's nowhere to take shelter. We might as well take a longer route. What if we encounter a tiger?"

Another girl, about fourteen or fifteen years old, with dark skin, reached out and took the old woman's arm to comfort her, saying, "Grandma, don't worry. With Uncle Zhao here, there won't be any problems on the road. I heard from Uncle Zhao that we're taking a shortcut, which will save us several days of travel time."

After saying that, the woman leaned out and asked, "Uncle Zhao, approximately how much longer until we reach the post station?"

Zhao Yong estimated the time and said, "Hurry up, we should be able to get out by sunset. Don't worry, although this road is remote, Uncle Zhao knows it very well. But if we're lucky, we might not have to rush."

"Oh? Why is that?"

"I heard a rumor in Huaixi City the other day that a hermit has opened an inn in this dense forest. If you happen to run into him, wouldn't that be incredibly lucky?" Zhao Yong joked happily, recalling the news he had heard.

Shen Qinghe pouted and said with a look of disapproval, "Immortals all live in temples and receive offerings. Why would they open an inn? These rumors are too absurd."

Zhao Yong simply took it as a joke and let it go. "My niece Qinghe is right. How could an immortal do business like a merchant? He'd be more like a monster. The rumors... they're true after all!"

Shen Qinghe asked in confusion, "Huh?"

"An inn run by immortals... immortals!" Zhao Yong stammered, pointing to the white high-rise building that was faintly visible in the jungle ahead.

The caravan panicked, and the passengers, seeing the unfamiliar buildings, hesitated to move forward.

Shen Qinghe lifted the curtain of the carriage, and a tall white building came into view. The four red characters "Xianyuan Inn" were huge and eye-catching against the white wall.

"Grandma, Grandma, there's a monster, no, no, it's an immortal, it must be an immortal!" Shen Qinghe excitedly pointed ahead, having already forgotten her earlier doubts.

Grandma Shen was a little confused. Was she getting senile? Just now, she seemed to have heard her granddaughter say that there were immortals.

After the initial panic subsided, the group exchanged bewildered glances. The inn was situated on the only road they could pass; if it were a monster, none of them would escape. But if it truly was an immortal, then their ancestral graves must be emitting auspicious smoke.

Then I thought of the rumors circulating throughout Huaixi City about the inns, which even involved Prince Duan, yet the prince hadn't stopped them...

Zhao Yong gritted his teeth and directed the caravan to continue on its way.

The closer you get, the greater the impact of the building.

Upon approaching, everyone was immediately drawn to the large red characters scrolling above the inn.

"Xianyuan Inn currently has vacancies. Please read the front desk guide carefully before checking in. Important note: Please strictly abide by the inn's rules!"

The crowd stood outside the gate, hesitant to step inside. Old Mrs. Shen clasped her hands together and muttered something under her breath.

Ange was observing the growth of the crops in the backyard at that moment.

The acceleration effect of primary farmland is obvious; in just one night, some plants with short maturation cycles have already sprouted seedlings about an inch long.

Upon receiving the system notification, An Ge opened the inn's door and saw a group of hesitant people.

"Welcome to Xianyuan Inn. Is there anything you need, sir?" An Ge smiled, neither warm nor distant.

Shen Qinghe stared blankly at An Ge. Because of her brother, she had met many daughters of officials, and although they were dressed in gorgeous clothes and had exquisite makeup, they all seemed ordinary and vulgar compared to the person in front of her.

Zhao Yong mustered his courage and asked cautiously, "We are traveling merchants, may we stay the night?"

"The inn currently has vacant rooms, of course you are welcome to stay."

The group walked through the gate with trepidation, feeling that there was not enough to see.

Although the sun has not yet set, the sky is already dark, yet the inn's lobby is as bright as day, with a smooth floor that reflects one's image. Looking out through the huge glass windows, it feels as if the inside and outside are two different worlds.

"Is this where immortals live?" No one dared to take a step, for fear of soiling the immortal land. Old Lady Shen almost knelt down to An Ge.
