Chapter Twenty-Three

To An Ge's surprise, Yun Mo wasn't the only one offering to work for her for free.

Upon hearing about this, Bai Yurou immediately approached An Ge and strongly requested to contribute to the development of the inn as well.

"I'm very strong, store manager, could you arrange a job for me? I think cutting down trees would suit me perfectly!"

An Ge looked at the petite woman speechlessly. Although she was short of people, she really didn't need the guests' help.

"Well……"

Before An Ge could refuse, Yun Mo, who was standing to the side, was unhappy.

"Go away, get out of here. Everything should be done in a first-come, first-served manner. I haven't even gotten the manager's approval yet, how dare you, little girl, ask for it?"

"You weakling who can be blown away by the wind?" Bai Yurou said with disdain. She had always looked down on scholars who couldn't even kill a chicken. Otherwise, she wouldn't have refused the marriage arranged by her family and run away from the wedding.

"Me, a weakling?" Yun Mo pointed at himself suspiciously, disregarding the rule that a good man doesn't argue with a woman, and immediately started arguing with Bai Yurou.

The two's attention was successfully diverted, which relieved An Ge. Watching the two bickering, and fearing she might get caught in the crossfire, she tactfully left, giving them room to continue their battle.

Since the inn clearly has a rule against fighting, An Ge wasn't worried at all that the two of them would run into any problems.

With the upgrade imminent, the guests returned to their rooms early at the staff's request. Just as they were wondering what was going on, a hazy white mist passed by, and everything before them had changed dramatically.

The room still vaguely resembled its original state, but it was significantly larger and more refined than before. Directly opposite the large bed was a black, mirror-like object. The walls were no longer pure white, but a warm, inviting yellow.

The change came too fast and too suddenly; those who were timid screamed and then cowered in their rooms, too afraid to come out.

Some of the bolder ones cautiously ventured out of the room. Upon reaching the lobby, they were even more astonished by the change before them.

The lobby has become more spacious and the decorations more luxurious. A rockery faces the entrance, with water constantly flowing down from it, forming a small waterfall. Under the lights, the waterfall seems to cascade down from the sky.

Everyone sat on the sofa, listening to the rushing water, and felt exceptionally peaceful.

The inn was originally a two-story building, but after the upgrade, it became a four-story building, and the number of rooms was also increased, which alleviated the already tight room supply.

The restaurant on the first floor has a larger space and a new door has been opened facing the road to facilitate dining for people who are not checking in. The door that was originally connected to the lobby has been turned into the back door of the restaurant.

The guest rooms and angel cabins have also been transformed, becoming more refined and equipped with central air conditioning, televisions, and appliances such as washing machines and refrigerators in the suites.

Without the internet, a television is nothing more than a decoration. Fortunately, Ange completed her temporary task in advance and can schedule television programs through the system interface.

During the inn upgrade, Ange clicked to use the "room design blueprint" to make the guest rooms and her own little house more cozy.

On one side of the inn, a single-story building has been added as a retail area, which is equivalent to a small supermarket.

"Looks like we'll have to hire more people!" We're short-staffed right now, and the supermarket can't open for the time being.

The most obvious change is that after the upgrade, the inn now has a hot spring bath and a garden.

An Ge clicked on the profile and saw that it read:

"Holy Spring (fake), diluted holy water, possessing some of its functions. Long-term use can strengthen the body and repair bodily damage."

"The Fairy Garden (fake), the playground of the fairy race, the darlings of nature. Although it is only a small part, it can still make people forget their troubles when they are in it."

"This is getting more and more unscientific; even Pokémon are appearing." Ange silently closed the description. "What if Pokémon actually appear next time?"

"As long as the host works hard to develop the inn, the elves might appear." A childlike voice suddenly appeared, startling An Ge.

"Who is speaking?"

"Host, it's me, your cutest and most considerate 777 System!"

An Ge's lips twitched: "So you can talk!" She originally thought the system could only send out cold, impersonal text, but she didn't expect it could communicate with her, and its voice even sounded quite cute.

But this narcissistic tone... Has the system forgotten that it and I have never gotten along?

"Now that the inn has reached level three, I can communicate directly with the host."

"No wonder you've always wanted me to develop the inn, Master. It turns out you were doing it for your own benefit."

"No, that's not it." Her voice sounded a little aggrieved.

"Then why?"

The system has stopped talking again.

"Hey, I know you're listening. We can communicate now, so stop pretending to be dead."

"The host will naturally know when the inn develops to a certain stage; for now, we cannot say anything."

An Ge paused for a moment, realizing that the system indeed had many secrets.

“Then just say what you can say. You can’t expect the horse to run without feeding it. I’ve worked so hard to develop the inn, and I’m going to be kept in the dark. I’m not doing this.”

The system stammered for a long time, and seeing that it couldn't fool them anymore, it could only give a partial account.

According to Tongzi, there isn't just one system; it's just that in this dimension, she is the only one who possesses one.

Due to the influence of the host, various systems exist in the myriad worlds, and these systems are ranked according to the host's development.

The evaluation has its own set of standards. For example, since Ange is tied to the inn management system, the evaluation will be based on the inn's development.

An Ge clicked her tongue twice. "If that's the case, why did you bind me to the system? You know my ultimate dream is to be a lazy bum."
