Chapter 31 Provides Weapons

"With so many people, my strength will definitely increase significantly!"

Yang Shen couldn't wait to walk inside.

The woman in the lead hurriedly followed, leaving the others to take care of Gao Shou and the other ordinary people, while she stayed with Yang Shen, worried that he might do something reckless.

"There seem to be a lot of people here?" Yang Shen asked.

"Only a hundred or so people? Is that a lot? We've searched the entire south of the city, and almost everyone still alive is here." The woman said calmly, "By the way, my name is Liang Yueqin. What's your name?"

"Just call me Yang Shen."

Yang Shen was surprised: "Are all the people in the south of the city here? I'm not sure if there are other people in the east of the city, because I haven't searched."

“We’ve been to the south, east, and north of the city and found survivors there, but they’re too far away to bring them over. Besides, we’ve almost run out of food here, so having too many people isn’t a good thing,” Liang Yueqin said.

Liang Yueqin's words probably meant that she wanted to tell Yang Shen that there wasn't much food left in this area, and with so many people living together, food was a big problem. She hoped that Yang Shen could change his mind.

Yang Shen, however, seemed not to understand the meaning behind Liang Yueqin's words, and instead said, "Where there are people, there is hope."

He paused for a moment, then suddenly asked, "Have you ever thought about leaving here? Isn't there a safe zone in Haishi?"

"Of course I've thought about it, but it's simply not realistic."

Liang Yueqin pursed her lips and said, "Infected people are one thing, but there are far more mutated animals outside than in the city."

Yang Shen was immediately surprised and asked, "You've been out?"

“We originally wanted to live in the suburbs so that we could cultivate land and grow crops where there were no buildings.”

Liang Yueqin thought for a moment and said directly, "But as soon as we approached the outskirts of the city, we encountered something terrifying. There were mosquitoes the size of a fist, and being bitten by one could be fatal. There were also rats the size of cats, and countless other birds. Although not all of them had mutated and evolved, their numbers were too great."

Upon hearing this, Yang Shen fell silent.

Was the outside world really that dangerous?

It seems that although the infected are rampant in the city, they do not usually go out looking for food and spend most of their time dormant.

But living animals need to eat, and they might come after you even if you don't bother them.

I wonder how my sister is doing now?

Mirages are almost right on the coast, and even wild animals have mutated. What about the fish in the sea?

A sense of urgency rose in Yang Shen's heart. For a moment, he even wanted to leave everyone behind and go to Haishi alone.

"Let's wait a little longer. Three years have already passed, so what's a little more time?"

"We must set off within three days!"

Yang Shen made up his mind.

At this moment, the people from the southern camp finally came into view.

There were only a dozen or so people on the first floor. Most of them were pale and thin, but they could be considered lean. They must have worked regularly and were quite strong. They just looked thin because of malnutrition.

Upon seeing Yang Shen, the group became wary and turned to Liang Yueqin, greeting her as "Sister Liang."

"This is Yang Shen, a superhuman from the east of the city."

Liang Yueqin introduced the person to everyone, emphasizing the words "superpowered individual," presumably because she was worried that others might offend Yang Shen and bring disaster to the camp.

"Superpowered individuals from other places?"

The survivors on the first floor looked at Yang Shen in surprise. Although Yang Shen also looked a bit thin, his temperament was obviously different from theirs.

Although Yang Shen has only been developing his superpowers for a short time, his strength has greatly improved, and his demeanor has already changed drastically.

Yang Shen smiled at everyone on the first floor. These people would all be his tools and his source of experience.

"How many superhumans do you have here?" Yang Shen suddenly asked Liang Yueqin.

However, Liang Yueqin only glanced at Yang Shen with a slightly wary look and did not answer.

This made Yang Shen realize that he might have asked a taboo question.

Shaking his head and smiling, Yang Shen turned and walked outside. As he passed a steel pipe fence, he touched the fence with his left hand, and one of the steel pipes melted instantly.

Under Liang Yueqin's astonished gaze, the steel pipe seemed to melt into molten iron and was then quickly shaped.

In less than half a minute, a longsword was formed and held in Yang Shen's hand.

"My superpower is shaping!"

Yang Shen smiled and said, "Everything can be shaped. I see that you have almost no decent weapons here. Since we will be living together in the future, I naturally hope that you will also live well. So I plan to provide you with weapons."

Liang Yueqin was shocked by Yang Shen's words: "Are you serious?"

Indeed, the swords and knives in their survivor camp were actually made by roughly hammering and polishing steel plates. Although they were sharp, they were not easy to hold and their weight was difficult to control.

Most importantly, finding steel plates that are just right to be ground into swords is not easy, which means that very few people can possess sharp weapons.

Without sharp weapons, even with steel, it's difficult to fight the infected and kill them.

Yang Shen's 'shaping ability' gave Liang Yueqin hope of getting rare equipment.

“Of course it’s true, but the premise is that you provide the materials yourself.” Yang Shen said, suddenly throwing the longsword he had just made towards Gao Shou.

Gao Shou, who was some distance away, hurriedly caught the longsword and said with delight, "Thank you, Brother Yang."

He tried it out and found that although the longsword had no special effects, it was very sharp, no worse than the ones he bought online for tens of thousands of yuan before the apocalypse.

Yang Shen smiled. With his current strength and the speed at which he could modify particle arrangement, he could easily impersonate a shape-shaping ability user.
