Chapter 24 Recruiting
After getting up early in the morning, Zhou Jiu did some simple exercises indoors and then arrived at the police station at the agreed time.
"Hello, I'm here to make a statement."
"Ms. Zhou Jiu?" The police station receptionist quickly found the corresponding case and then pressed a few buttons on the mechanical buttons.
"yes."
"Please come with me." The receptionist led her to an interrogation room, and soon the leader she had met yesterday also arrived.
"Hello, Zhou Jiu, you can call me Wei Yan," the leader said.
Zhou Jiu: "Officer Wei Yan, hello."
During Zhou Jiu's registration and statement taking process, Wei Yan said, "We have found the child and confirmed the information about the child's parents."
Zhou Jiu wasn't that curious, so he nodded and offered a few polite compliments.
After listening, Wei Yan continued, "Thank you for your report, madam. It was thanks to your timely discovery that we were able to uncover this. However, due to the special nature of the case, we cannot publicly praise you to avoid any retaliation from the other party."
Zhou Jiu had just finished writing when he heard this and looked up at Wei Yan, asking, "Were the cases that were later implicated very large?"
"It involves some people within the aviation industry and high-ranking government officials." Wei Yan did not hide anything, which surprised Zhou Jiu.
"police officer?"
“In fact, I am friends with Saiwei. Saiwei trusts you a lot, and I also feel the need for an honest conversation.”
"Why? I don't think the police would explain a case to someone who isn't involved," Zhou Jiu asked directly.
"Madam, you are now a party involved. Although I said it was inconvenient to publicly praise you, some things cannot be hidden. For some of the colluding people, you may also be one of the targets of retaliation."
Upon hearing Wei Yan's words, Zhou Jiu expressed doubt, "Only space pirates could do that."
Seeing Wei Yan's expression, Zhou Jiu couldn't help but show a surprised look. There really were space pirates involved? But revenge? This matter didn't really concern her that much. What was the officer's purpose in saying this to her?
"Okay, I've finished writing. I hope I won't have the chance to see the officer again next time." Zhou Jiu smiled.
“Madam, I know you have a divination ability. I wonder if you could offer us some assistance and provide some protection for your safety afterward?” Wei Yan also stood up and said directly, adding, “Only by ensuring the safe resolution of this incident can your safety be better guaranteed.”
Zhou Jiu raised an eyebrow. "I'm sorry, I can't tell who the criminal is or where they are through divination. I can't offer any help either. I apologize."
Wei Yan remained expressionless and said he understood: "I hope that you will continue to act bravely next time."
Neither of them mentioned the firearms at the scene, and Zhou Jiu did not ask any further questions about the airport personnel before leaving the police station.
When Wei Yan saw Zhou Jiu leave, he made a phone call: "I wasn't sure about her divination abilities, so she refused."
"Okay, I understand. Use this incident to bring those people down first."
"yes."
Zhou Jiu got into Saiwei's car and asked, "Why are you here too?"
Saiwei: "After all, I invited you here, so I can't just let you come by yourself."
Saiwei: "By the way, have you had breakfast?"
Zhou Jiu nodded: "I've already eaten."
"How about we explore Planet A a bit before we leave? You have three days off, right? I can show you around some of Planet A's unique attractions. Interested?"
Zhou Jiu looked at the several A-Star featured projects that Saiwei had sent him, and then asked curiously, "Do you think I'm someone who really likes adventure games?"
Take a look at these: real-life adventure, endless survival, and death chamber.
To be honest, she didn't like it at all. Adventures based on modern technology were too terrifying. She preferred something gentler and less reckless.
"Oh? You don't like it? Many people come here specifically to experience Planet A. The on-site experience on Planet A is unmatched by any other planet. Its on-site setup is exceptionally good, and many film crews shoot here. Are you interested?" Saiwei continued to recommend.
"No interest. I don't have time to watch dramas, I don't follow celebrities, and I don't like adventure games. Thanks for the invitation, but I'm very busy," Zhou Jiu continued to refuse.
"There are plenty of handsome guys out there!" Saiwei raised an eyebrow, and only sighed when he saw that Zhou Jiu wasn't interested. "I originally wanted to use your headlines from those few days to let you experience the glamour of being a celebrity, but you're not interested at all?"
"You want me to change careers?" Zhou Jiu rolled his eyes.
"Look at you, you're a strong fighter, you're the kind of girl who's both wild and innocent but not conventionally beautiful, and you have that mysterious ability. Plus those fight videos of you, if it weren't for the fact that no one could find your contact information, you would have already been poached to be an actress or a guest on adventure variety shows," Saiwei said.
"You're interested too? Do you have any business assets in this area?" Zhou Jiu suddenly thought of the true nature of the big businessman Saiwei and asked, while inwardly complaining, "Damn, this wild and obedient girl type."
“BINGO.” Saiwei snapped his fingers. “Haha, you’re right. I started an entertainment company. You have the potential to be a top star. You have no idea how popular adventure-type entertainment programs are right now, and you have such great resources.”
Zhou Jiu refused: "I'm not interested. Although I don't know much about the entertainment industry, I do know that bosses are subject to many restrictions and can't go to certain places freely. I'd rather just serve my military service. But... Saiwei, can asking me about the entertainment industry help me get rid of the conditions for military service?"
Zhou Jiu wanted to go to Gu Lanxing as soon as possible, but she had to serve in the military before the age of thirty, unless she was injured and had to retire. However, she couldn't possibly ruin her body to the point that even the medical pod couldn't heal her just to go to Gu Lanxing.
“If you can join, I can help you do it.” Saiwei thought it was actually very simple. To be honest, the conditions for government-sponsored students are very strict. “But how did you end up as a sponsored student? Logically speaking, only homeless people and undocumented immigrants who have nowhere else to turn apply for this government assistance.”
Zhou Jiu said with some helplessness, "We encountered an interstellar disaster before, and after being injured, the government hired a master of mental strength to treat us and gave us E-star household registration, so we became government-sponsored students."
Savi coughed twice. "Mental power master treatment? Isn't that just a matter of paying off debts? How come you're being made sponsors directly?" Mental power master treatment is indeed quite expensive, and many people can't afford it.
"At that time, E-Star was in a bit of chaos." The situation was somewhat complicated, and it just so happened that the injured people on the starship were all young children with good aptitude. Although she suspected that the so-called mental master had done something while treating them, otherwise it would be impossible for everyone's memories to be more or less damaged.
