Chapter 84 Flashy Light Signs
After Zhou Jiu entered the room and confirmed Qiao Shiyi's invitation, he reported to Elsa, the person in charge of her, about the places she had been that day and her itinerary for the desolate planet a month from now.
“I will record it. But Zhou Jiu, as your supervisor, I suggest you avoid engaging in social activities, as this will affect your performance rating in two years.” Elsa, who was working on the document, replied to Zhou Jiu according to the regulations.
"Thank you for the reminder, Major. I will consider your suggestion later."
The two hung up quickly. Zhou Jiu stayed quietly in this place full of surveillance cameras. She glanced at the room's cameras; this was already the best benefit she could get.
One should be content, Zhou Jiu told herself as usual. Just like the other days, she put her previously delayed treatment into the medical device for continued treatment. Those in the First Military Region who knew about her breaking into the Central Prison and releasing information that was still causing headaches for the military in the First Military Region several months later were not without secret retaliatory intent.
For example, the deliberate delay in treating her calf during the third trial, and the fact that there were no other guards on her way to the desolate planet. Sometimes Zhou Jiu thought that with her rune-based technique of breaking magnetic fields and unlocking with electronic energy, she could open the lock herself and escape.
Of course, Zhou Jiu still came obediently. On the one hand, all her other friends were here, and on the other hand, she felt like she had nowhere else to go. More importantly, in the world of chips, she felt that being a wanted criminal on the run was both difficult and boring.
Zhou Jiu sat at the table, turned on his personal computer, opened the electronic drawing tablet, and wrote down the trajectory of the hydrogen meteor he had seen that day. He then placed the trajectory of the sun in the blank space next to it, comparing and studying the planet's movement. He also recorded the climate changes and the impact of the movement on feng shui.
A month passed quickly. On average, there were about five missions every three days, each lasting about three to five hours. Zhou Jiu spent this time busy.
The federal government's pass was only sent the day before her trip. Zhou Jiu refreshed the electronic notification sent by Elsa in the chip-restricted area. Once she was granted permission to pass, Zhou Jiu arrived at the temporary starship port on the desolate planet, dressed in casual clothes and wearing a baseball cap.
A Starship Port
Zhou Jiu walked through the port, following the passageway, and saw someone holding a very flashy light sign that read Captain Zhou's name. He thought for a moment, "This shouldn't be her."
So Zhou Jiu walked straight ahead without looking to either side, but after reaching the middle of the square, he answered a phone call, then walked back to the Captain Zhou sign with a blank expression, adjusted his baseball cap, and asked, "Hello, did Qiao Shiyi send you to pick someone up?"
"Zhou..." Wen Xiaoxiao saw Zhou Jiu's face and her expression lit up with surprise. After cautiously looking around, she whispered, "Captain Zhou?"
"Hello, this is Zhou Jiu. Are you Qiao Shiyi's assistant, Wen Xiaoxiao?" The message beeped again before Qiao Shiyi finally sent the information of her assistant, Wen Xiaoxiao, with her 3D avatar. Zhou Jiu looked at the delayed message from Qiao Shiyi and suddenly complained to herself, "How unreliable! Will sending it early make me lose two pounds?" If it weren't for the fact that she couldn't say it directly in front of Wen Xiaoxiao, she would have already bombarded her with phone calls.
"Okay, let's go. I'll tell Brother Shi." Wen Xiaoxiao nodded repeatedly.
