Chapter 32 Taking her away, I thought, that should be considered a less than pleasant thing...
The silver-ringed snake seemed to want to say something more, but Tarasco didn't want to listen to his nonsense.
Suddenly, the spider silk shot out, precisely binding the silver-ringed snake's body. Before he could react, Tarasco yanked sharply, instantly closing the distance between them.
Upon seeing this, the silver-ringed snake immediately shook its body and severed the spider silk. Tarasco fell from mid-air, then used the momentum to shove his spider legs into the ground and landed steadily.
After all that, the silver-ringed snake was clearly enraged.
He bared his teeth fiercely at Tarasco, then twisted his body to meet him. However, before he could get close, Tarasco raised his legs and slashed at him. The silver-ringed snake had no choice but to lean back and barely dodge.
Seeing this, Xavier knew that a fight was inevitable.
He did want to leave. However, he had summoned these giant snakes, and if he left directly, it would be better if both of them perished here. Otherwise, even if only one of them survived, it would still make him an enemy.
He sighed, then smiled and followed the short-tailed viper to meet the attack.
The banded krait engaged Tarlasco head-on, while the short-tailed viper attacked from the side. The two giant snakes drew most of Tarlasco's attention, allowing Xavier to remain hidden, waiting for his chance. Tarlasco seemed to be handling the situation reasonably well, but the three giant snakes coordinated remarkably effectively, preventing him from finding a good opportunity to kill them completely.
The beasts fought for a long time. The one at the very front, bearing the brunt of Tarasco's attacks, gradually felt its stamina dwindling, and new wounds constantly appearing on its body.
He quickly glared at Xavier, giving him a look that signaled him to take his place.
Xavier had been hiding to the side from the beginning. Although he was also helping to distract Tarasco's attacks, because he was in the shadows, he took the least damage and conserved the most energy. Although the Silver Ring Serpent was impulsive and easily angered, after so much time, he had finally come to his senses. How could he let Xavier continue to hide and not use his full strength?
Xavier smiled helplessly, flicked his tail, and charged forward, taking the brunt of Tarasco's next slash. The silver-ringed snake seized the opportunity to slither to Tarasco's side and rear, its fangs aimed directly at the spider's leg joints.
Seeing this, Tarasco stopped attacking as before and instead, despite the attacks from the two giant snakes, began to hack and slash at Xavier with all his might.
Xavier fought and retreated, managing to evade most of Tarasco's attacks.
He laughed and said, "Your preferential treatment is a bit too obvious."
His tone sounded like he was joking with an old friend, but the serpent's tail slammed mercilessly into Tarasko's carapace. Tarasko shifted his position with a quick step, and Xavier couldn't stop in time. The serpent's tail slammed heavily into the mud, kicking up a cloud of dust.
The silver-ringed snake glanced at the large tree above Tarasco's head, and immediately seized the opportunity. It folded its body and leaped onto the branch, using the force of its fall to snap the branch, which was as thick as two people could hug, in half.
Tarasco sensed the movement above and immediately curled up into a ball, rolling to the side to avoid it.
Just as he dodged the branch and stretched out his body, the silver-ringed snake on the tree loosened its tail and plummeted straight towards him. A second later, venom sprayed from his mouth, turning into a fine mist that drifted down towards Tarasco below.
Tarasco quickly used spider silk to bind himself to the top of the tree trunk, lifting himself off the ground, trying to get away from the place filled with poisonous fog.
However, the poisonous fog spread faster than he expected, covering a large area in an instant. Although he reacted quickly, it seemed that some of it still got into his eyes.
Tarasco clenched his eyes and let out a painful roar.
Seeing that his plan had succeeded, the silver-ringed snake snorted coldly. He flicked his tail and moved closer to Tarasco, intending to deliver the final, fatal blow.
However, as soon as he entered the alien spider's attack range, he suddenly opened his eyes, and his blood-red beastly pupils were clearly clear.
"You weren't exposed to the poisonous fog!"
The silver-ringed snake immediately understood, but it was too late.
The weightless, transparent spider silk had already coiled around his abdomen and seven-inch mark as he approached. The Tarasco spider's abdomen moved backward, and the silk tightened abruptly, forcing the silver-ringed snake's entire body to fold up, its sharp scales piercing directly into its neck glands.
The venom gland was punctured, and the venom inside exploded instantly, mixing with the blood and flowing throughout his body.
For the first time, the silver-ringed snake felt the power of its venom, writhing in agony but unable to break free of the spider silk binding it. It twitched on the ground for a long time before finally losing its breath.
Xavier's beastly eyes flickered when he saw the horrific state of the silver-ringed snake.
The short-tailed viper didn't notice Xavier's unusual behavior. With a twist of his tail, he immediately attacked from behind. He simply felt this was a good opportunity; Tarasco's attention was currently on the silver-ringed snake, making his sneak attack more likely to succeed.
However, to his surprise, Tarasco seemed to have eyes in the back of his head, and he immediately dodged into the nearest tent. Without a second thought, the Short-tailed Viper followed him inside.
But when they went inside, the tent was completely empty.
The space was clearly too small to hide a beast as large as the alien spider. Short-tailed viper looked around, instinctively sensing something was wrong. But before he could react, a fire broke out in one corner of the tent, and in an instant, that corner spread to a whole area, and then the entire tent began to burn.
The short-tailed viper immediately turned and swam toward the exit, but just as it escaped the tent, it ran straight into Tarasco's outstretched legs.
The sharp blade pierced his vital spot in an instant. He twitched a few times, then stopped moving.
After the two giant snakes died one after another, Tarasco was about to deal with Xavier when he turned around and found the camp completely empty. Xavier had disappeared without a trace.
Just moments ago, while Tarlasco's attention was entirely focused on the short-tailed viper, Xavier had already quietly left.
He knew when the banded krait died that he and the short-tailed viper alone were no match for Tarasco. So he had prepared an escape route for himself long ago.
Tarasco was somewhat resentful that he had ultimately failed to kill the disgusting snake.
He remembered the snake's disgusting smell! It was the one who had kidnapped Catherine last time. He hadn't expected it to escape again.
Tarasco scratched his feet in the dirt, clearly unhappy. But after calming down for a moment, he went over and picked up Catherine from the ground.
He moved with care, as if handling a particularly fragile and precious piece of porcelain, holding it gently in his arms.
Tarasco turned and glanced at the humans in the camp, hesitating whether to take action.
That snake was despicable, and so were they! They all wanted to lure Catherine away from him; they were all equally cunning and ruthless. Thinking of this, the color of his pupils seemed to deepen.
But in the end, he glanced at Catherine in his arms, said nothing, glared at the humans, and then left.
Derrick scratched the back of his head, puzzled. "Why do I feel like... that monster's eyes seemed rather unfriendly to us?"
Joan clutched her chest, breathing heavily, and chuckled upon hearing this: "Which of the magical beasts in this Devil's Forest has ever been friendly to us?" "That's true."
Benson raised his broadsword and silently wiped it clean: "We're lucky he didn't kill us after killing those giant snakes."
“Well…” Derrick’s tone turned somber, “he took the witch away.”
They had considered stopping him from taking the witch away, but after fighting the giant snakes for so long, they had already lost many men, and the surviving companions were all wounded. At this point, they were powerless to stop the beast; it would only cause even greater casualties.
The atmosphere in the camp fell silent.

When Catherine regained consciousness, she felt a bit jolted, as if she were riding on some kind of mount. Somewhat bewildered, she turned her head to look at the dense, indistinct trees in the darkness, and the occasional fierce birds of prey.
She is still in the Devil's Forest.
Catherine thought with a touch of disappointment.
Her mind slowly recalled the scene before she lost consciousness; it seemed that her arm had been broken by the silver python... which then unexpectedly caused a change in her body...
She vaguely remembered that she seemed to have grown legs like those of an alien spider, and then... and then she remembered nothing more.
So where is she now? Shouldn't she be in a tent at the camp, receiving treatment? Or perhaps after she fell unconscious, the giant snakes went on a killing spree, leaving not a single human in the camp?
She just hoped her final guess wouldn't come true. Otherwise, she might never encounter another group of humans who had inexplicably entered the Devil's Forest again in her entire life. This meant she might have to stay in the Devil's Forest for the rest of her life.
But wait!
Could it be that I was ultimately taken away by the silver python?
Catherine looked sharply behind her and saw a human chest. Moving her gaze downwards, she saw a large expanse of gray-brown back armor, upon which she was sitting.
The familiar cold body temperature, the skin as hard as marble... she seemed to know who was holding her.
When Catherine left with Derrick and the others, she never imagined she would meet Tarasco again. It just goes to show that time loves to play tricks; after all the twists and turns, he still managed to take her away.
Catherine recalled the glance she gave back after leaving the cave. She thought it must have been a rather unpleasant "breakup" scene.
