Chapter 61. Chapter 61. At night. ...
at night.
Ji Qian changed her clothes, feeling tired and weary, and leaned against her chest, burying her face in her neck. "I really want to sleep."
"You'll be fine once we get off the ship." Jiang Shi patted his back reassuringly. "You can also lean against me and sleep for a bit now. I'll hold you."
After the ship stopped, Alpha picked the person up and had their luggage delivered to the designated location.
The blanket covered his face, and Ji Qian, who was very sleepy, buried his face in her neck and whimpered a few times.
While sitting in the car, Ji Qian sat in Alpha's lap, tilted her head up and kissed her, her eyes still sleepy.
"How much longer?" he asked softly. "It's so slow."
"Almost there, sleep a little longer."
He nuzzled her neck, closed his eyes, grasped her hair, and drifted off to sleep.
After confirming the time, Jiang Shi raised his hand to smooth his hair, looked down at the sleeping omega in his arms, and kissed him.
The omega was incredibly weak, his entire body covered in alpha pheromones.
After Jiang Shi wrapped him in a blanket, he put his arms around his belly.
Outside the car window, there were lights of all colors. This place was very prosperous, much more prosperous than where I had lived before. Many well-known companies were located here.
Prices have also increased two to three times.
Jiang Shi looked out the car window, his eyes filled with the tall buildings that were still lit up.
She slowly hugged the person in her arms, her fingers unconsciously stroking his lower back.
After the car came to a stop, the car door opened.
Ji Qian slowly opened her eyes, her voice soft and gentle, "Have we arrived?"
"I've never been here before." He was carried out of the car, leaning against the alpha's chest, his moist eyes fixed on the villa in front of him.
Although he had been overseeing the renovation and knew everything about the house, he had never been to this neighborhood before.
Ji Qian slowly steadied herself, supporting her belly with one hand and gripping the alpha's clothes with the other.
The room was pitch black; this was likely where he would live from now on.
Ji Qian looked up at the alpha and, seeing that she had no expression, assumed that she was also tired.
Anyway, nothing can be changed. If we continue with her previous behavior, something unexpected will definitely happen.
Ji Qian cannot rely on any so-called guarantees for the future. He himself cannot guarantee his own future. Everything around him confirms infidelity or extramarital affairs. He should either nip that possibility in the bud now.
The baby is due soon. Once the baby is born and everything is settled, the alpha won't argue with him for the sake of the baby.
Ji Qian doesn't expect to never argue in his life, but at least he won't get divorced, and at least he won't have any mistresses or other women interfere in his marriage.
With his mother watching over him and preventing him from having affairs at work, he only needed to stay at home obediently and wait for her to come back.
Even if people in the company knew she was his alpha, they wouldn't be that bold.
"Let's go inside and take a look. If there's anything you don't like, we can change it," he said softly, his tone gentle.
He slowly tightened his grip on her arm, his beautiful, delicate face showing a tentative expression. When she looked down at him, he smiled gently at her.
...
Morning.
The sun was shining brightly.
The car stopped in front of a villa, and the people inside got out.
"You mean Ji Qian is back? That's strange. Wasn't he hiding on Planet C, pregnant?"
Ji He walked into the room and the first person she saw was the alpha from before.
"I heard my cousin is back? I thought you wouldn't be able to attend my wedding. Come to think of it, you should be the one getting married now."
Ji He stood by the sofa, her gaze fixed on Ji Qian, who was standing behind the alpha.
As Ji Qian revealed herself, her appearance and expression were completely different from before.
Ji He frowned slightly. The omega in front of her seemed like a completely different person. His figure, eyebrows, eyes, and movements were all completely dependent on that alpha.
Jiang Shi heard the sound and turned to look.
After hearing his words clearly, Jiang Shi simply raised his hand and put it around Ji Qian's waist. "Is it true?"
Ji Qian paused for a moment, then frowned slightly as she stared at Ji He, leaning against the alpha. "He's talking nonsense. There was no such thing. I never agreed to it."
The pregnant omega's expression was sluggish and slow, possessing the gentle beauty and grace befitting a married man, without a trace of sharpness.
He looked up and subconsciously tried to please the alpha beside him, his round belly and voluptuous body accentuated by his newfound attire, which was no longer as conservative and somber as before.
If you look closely, you can still see the hickeys left on his collarbone.
Ji He thought of how he had been pinned down and kissed without struggling, and then looked at him now, completely manipulated by the alpha. Her gaze then fell on Jiang Shi.
"What did you do to him?" Ji He asked instinctively.
Jiang Shi gestured for the omega next to him to sit down, placed his hand on his shoulder, and asked in a calm tone, "What question are you asking? We're married, what can I possibly do to him?"
"Married?" Ji He sneered, walked over and looked around the room, then looked up at the stairs. "Where's Uncle? Why are you the only one here?"
"I didn't see you come back before, why are you back now?"
Ji Qian sat there, ignoring his words, and simply waited for her father and mother to return.
It's nine o'clock in the morning, and my father has already left home.
Soon after, the sound of cars stopping could be heard outside as well.
An alpha got out of the car, walked in, saw the people in the room, and then focused his gaze on Jiang Shi, who was standing next to his son.
"Everyone's here, where's your father?"
Madam Ji walked in and looked Jiang Shi up and down. "Your name is Jiang Shi."
Ji Qian, who was sitting there, looked up and said softly, "Mother."
She promised to help him persuade his father, and she promised to take care of the alpha for him.
I promised to help him with anything.
He cradled his belly, his emerald eyes calmly fixed on his mother.
"So you're already protecting him?" Madam Ji looked at Jiang Shi, but her attitude didn't change much. "When his sister arrives later, you two can get to know each other properly."
Jiang Shi knew that everything required testing and trial and error.
Ultimately, there are only two possible outcomes: one is to behave obediently, like a toy to coax the omega, without having any other thoughts; the other is to actually get involved.
No matter how you look at it, the latter is a better choice.
Jiang Shi has been a wanderer since she was a child. She started looking for food before she was even taller than a person's leg. Now it's been almost twenty years. Being able to read people's faces and do things is as simple as it comes to her.
She smiled and said, "Okay."
Ji He stood silently to the side, his gaze sweeping over the group of people. Finally, he looked at Ji Qian, who was sitting there without saying a word, gave a cold laugh, and turned to leave.
If you say you don't care about anything, if you say you don't want anything, won't you still come back to take it in the end?
Ji Qian looked up at the alpha, and for some reason felt a little scared and uneasy. Then she looked at her mother.
He reached out and gently tugged at the alpha's clothes, slipping his fingers into her hand. He tilted his head back and said softly, "Father hasn't returned yet. I'll take you to my room to see him."
There is an elevator in the villa, after all, it's five stories high.
Ji Qian slowly stood up, glanced at her mother, then ignored her as if dissatisfied, and pulled Alpha to the elevator.
He didn't expect the alpha to be outstanding; he just wanted someone to spend his days with. Why did he have to come in and test him like that?
They ignored him before, but now that he's just found an alpha, they've started controlling him and making demands of him everywhere.
Now that things are like this, he has to live his life from now on.
After leaving the living room, Ji Qian slowly hugged Alpha's arm, "Don't pay attention to what my mother said."
"It's just a meeting, what's wrong?" Jiang Shi paused for a moment, then gently pinched his cheek. "Isn't this necessary? Don't you and your sister get along?"
He opened his mouth, "You know that's not what I meant."
“But if you want me to stay here forever, isn’t this what I’m supposed to do? Do you expect me to be looked down upon if I do nothing? Even if you don’t mean it that way, this is how my surroundings will be. I can’t just see you all the time.”
Ji Qian was stunned, and suddenly felt regretful. "But we're the two of us living together. There are only a few days in a year."
They don't interact with other people, so whose approval do they need? Their mother's? Their father's?
Why is this kind of recognition needed?
He himself rarely comes back for more than a few days a year, so their relationship has long been strained.
His mother was willing to help him only because she had completely ignored him before and had never participated in his upbringing; her entire focus was on that company.
When he was a child, he spent most of his time either with a nanny or at school studying.
If his father doesn't even like him, how could he possibly like his alpha?
She could have simply treated that company as a regular workplace, only one that was more welcoming.
His mother had promised to give his alpha some pointers at the company.
This is what his mother owes him.
"Oh, is that what you think?" Jiang Shi gently rubbed his fingers. "Then we'll talk about it later."
Ji Qian felt uneasy and hugged Alpha's arm tightly. After the elevator reached the fourth floor, he pulled Alpha out and stood there.
He said softly, "It's just a job, you don't need to do much. It's like being a security guard. My mother and father don't care about me, and I don't associate with those so-called relatives. I only come back for two days a year, you know that."
“I live so far away, and we came back only because the company is so big, and we can come back to try it out. It’s just a job. My mother only has me and my sister. What my sister has, I should have too. You are my alpha.”
He seemed to become increasingly unclear as he spoke, but he just wanted her to know that this was what he deserved, and what his alpha deserved.
The company is so big, if she wants to grow, why can't she grow here?
He simply chose the better way at the moment, one that wouldn't require the alpha to leave his side, would solve his worries, and would also allow her to go to the company to learn and work.
Wasn't that her purpose in doing those things?
"What are you talking about?" she asked, somewhat puzzled. "You might be a little tired. Let's go to your room and take a look. There are so many days ahead, we can talk about it slowly."
Jiang Shi put his arm around his waist and led him into the room he had mentioned.
Inside the house.
Ji Qian was held and placed on the bed, her head tilted back as she was kissed, her emerald eyes filled with mist.
Does the alpha know what he means? Does he know? Ji Qian felt a little uneasy, breathless from the kiss.
