Chapter 169 Getting into Character

Director Er turned to Yun Xinyan with a headache and said, "Yun Xinyan, are you in the right state of mind for the next scene? I'm not in the mood to play NG with you!" Director Er's patience had been exhausted by Yun Lina, and Yun Xinyan's bad reputation made him less than friendly towards her.

Yun Xinyan raised an eyebrow slightly, a charming smile playing on her lips, and said, "Five minutes to prepare."

Five minutes?

Director Er was overjoyed when he learned that Yun Xinyan not only had a bad attitude but also loved to boast.

"You have fifteen minutes to familiarize yourself with the script, then we'll start filming immediately."

He didn't bother to talk to Yun Xinyan anymore and went to talk to Zhong Yiren about the scene first.

Yun Xinyan didn't explain further. She closed her eyes and quickly reviewed the script in her mind. Based on her acting experience in her previous life, she could immerse herself in the role as long as she read the script.

This scene depicts the character she plays, Consort Niohuru, meeting her former best friend Rujia before her death. The two confront each other and reminisce about the past. Niohuru knows that Rujia has come to kill her and that she also has poison. She conspires with Empress Ulanara to kill Rujia, and the Empress will find a way to get her out of the Cold Palace.

However, since it's a one-shot film, the director doesn't have strict requirements for the plot. How the actors perform depends on their own performance. As long as they don't break character and their performance is logical, he can accept it.

The focus of this shoot is Niohuru's final monologue before her death. The performance is brief. Blood trickles from the corner of Niohuru's mouth, her gaze is cold, and she seems to be finding release in her last moment. Before dying, she apologizes to Rujia, recalling their sisterly bond from years past. Suddenly, she softens and snatches the poisoned wine from Rujia's hand, drinking it all in one gulp. Before dying, she receives Rujia's forgiveness and is held in Rujia's arms, ending her tragic life.

Yun Xinyan was dressed in a simple and elegant palace dress, her face pale, yet there was still a faint charm between her brows and eyes. Her long, dark hair was loose, and her slender, white fingers traced the pot of poisoned wine before slowly pouring it into a wine cup. Her gaze was long and unfocused, as if she were recalling something. Her eyes never looked up at the camera. After a while, Director Er impatiently reminded her, "Yun Xinyan, look at the camera."

LeEco, Yun Xinyan seemed not to have heard anything, poured herself a drink, and a mocking smile appeared on her lips.

That's not how it was written in the script at all!

Director Er was getting angry!

Yun Xinyan is truly a director's nemesis! She changes the script at will and acts haphazardly!

How could Niohuru be so self-conscious that she wouldn't even dare to raise her head! Director Er's brows furrowed tightly.

Yun Lina noticed the director's dissatisfaction with Yun Xinyan and quickly leaned over to speak gently, "Director, I'm ready now. My sister might not be in character yet, so I'll act alongside her to help her get into the role."

Director Er was getting impatient, and he waved for Yun Lina to leave.

Yun Lina, dressed in the attire of a Noble Consort, walked in and sat down next to Yun Xinyan. She recited her lines in a soft voice: "Back then, we were sisters. I truly regarded you as my elder sister and thought you were my only support in the palace. I never expected that you would harm me and frame me behind my back."

A glint of light flashed in Director Er's eyes; he was very satisfied with Yun Lina's performance this time.

Suddenly, a cold, alluring laugh rang out. Yun Xinyan raised her eyes and looked sharply at Yun Lina.
