“It’s me, Morian.”
Morian’s voice came from outside the door.
"Is something wrong so late?"
Lu Mingming opened the door. The other person had obviously just washed up, carrying a clean scent of soap. His glasses were fogged up with a layer of white mist, and his plush bathrobe wrapped tightly around Morian without revealing a trace, just like he usually wore a shirt, buttoned up to the top.
"I suddenly felt like looking for you, so I came."
"Come in and sit for a while, it's awfully cold outside."
Lu Mingming chuckled silently at this inexplicable reason, assuming the other person was joking.
Morian's gaze fell on Lu Mingming's hair, and he said apologetically:
"I'm sorry to bother you so late."
"It's fine."
Lu Mingming casually grabbed a blanket hanging on a coat hanger, wrapped it around herself, and used the long hair to wipe her dripping hair.
Fortunately, the room was heated, so she didn't feel cold at all.
After greeting Morian, Lu Mingming sat on the bed and asked, "Has there been any change to tomorrow's plans?"
"It's not a question about the plan."
Morian shook his head.
"Aren't you going to dry your hair first?"
Before Lu Mingming could refuse, he added, "I think your health is more important than any so-called plan."
Morian’s tone was unquestionable.
Morian stood up and asked, "Where's the hairdryer?"
Lu Mingming was taken aback, then pointed in one direction: "The second table next to the bookshelf."
Morian quickly went to find the hairdryer, turned around and plugged it in by the bedside: "I'll dry your hair."
Things had suddenly developed to this point for some unknown reason. Under the other party's caring and firm gaze, Lu Mingming could not find any reason to refuse.
Morian turned on the first layer of the hair dryer. He tentatively adjusted the hair dryer to a suitable temperature, tested it with his palm first, and when he felt it was fine, he blew hot air from a distance of two fists from Lu Mingming's head.
Is this temperature okay?
"Not bad? Thank you."
Lu Mingming felt something was off.
"How about I do it myself?"
"It's okay, drying my hair is no big deal. You've helped me shower before, so you're not shy about drying my hair now, are you?"
"Where can I find it!"
Hearing the laughter in the other person's tone, Lu Mingming blushed and turned around.
Their eyes met, and Morian slowly lost his expression, staring at her with a look that Lu Mingming couldn't understand.
Lu Mingming pretended nothing was wrong and quickly turned around, feeling the gentle breeze brush against his shoulders and neck.
The ends of her hair fell into Morian's palms, and his large hands covered her scalp, gently stroking and massaging it, as if she were enjoying a high level of care.
The slowly rising temperature of the hair dryer was not uncomfortable. Morian's fingertips gently passed through the strands of hair, letting them slip from his palms, tickling Lu Mingming's thin shoulders and back.
Morian lowered his head, his eyes filled with an unreadable emotion. His fingertips traced the back of Lu Mingming's neck again and again, drying his hair inch by inch.
In the quiet night, Morian stopped using the hairdryer: "That's about enough. If you dry it too much, it will damage your hair."
"Thanks."
Lu Mingming thanked him again.
Her cheeks flushed slightly, and she sheepishly tidied up the hairdryer and placed it in front of the cabinet.
A strange atmosphere seemed to be gradually spreading in the air. Lu Mingming vaguely sensed that something was wrong, and an incredible guess slowly rose in his mind.
Is Morian a close friend to her, a mentor who guides her, or someone like Orannal who deeply conceals his true nature?
Lu Mingming didn't understand, nor did she dare to easily ask about such topics.
Morian stared at Lu Mingming's figure: "Actually, I came to see you today because I was thinking that you are going back to Xingfu Star tomorrow, and we won't see each other for a long time afterward, so I came to visit and have a chat."
"So that's how it is."
Lu Mingming breathed a sigh of relief, the heavy weight pressing on his heart suddenly lifted.
"I thought it was something serious..."
What do you think it is?
Morian seemed to be intentionally trying to entice Lu Mingming with words, but Lu Mingming was unwilling to delve deeper, shaking his head like a rattle drum.
Morian wasn't disappointed that he didn't get the answer he wanted.
He got up and straightened his bathrobe.
Unlike Orannell's hands, Morian's hands had a more delicate and gentle quality.
Morian reached out and tucked Lu Mingming's sideburns behind his ear with his fingertips.
I hope you get a good night's sleep tonight.
Lu Mingming felt as if an invisible hand had touched her heartstrings, and she couldn't help but ask, "Why did you do this to me?"
Morian smiled slightly: "Perhaps you already have the answer in your heart."
He withdrew his hand: "From the moment I saw you until now, I think it is a fascinating thing to witness firsthand how something beautiful is cultivated with more patience and time. If possible, I hope that this full moon hangs high in the sky and is not picked by anyone."
As soon as he finished speaking, Morian suddenly chuckled.
"Sorry, I seem to have said too much. I wish you a good night's sleep."
Lu Mingming immediately stood up and escorted Morian to the door.
The other person gradually disappeared into the darkness, but the room still retained the clean scent of soap pods from Morian, as if he had been gently drowned in an embrace.
Lu Mingming stared blankly at the spot where Morian had sat for a long time before finally turning off the light and going to sleep.
The next day.
Lu Mingming packed all her luggage with great enthusiasm.
