The main control center of Research Lab 1 sent out a series of alarms.
On a huge blue screen, a red energy block in the sky was shown rushing rapidly toward the inner ring of the interstellar space.
"It's bad, Dean Morian! A dangerous, unidentified object is approaching, and its energy level is unknown! Based on the detection, it's an unidentified life form that has never been seen before!!"
The researcher rushed to the office to simulate everything he had just witnessed.
"The energy emitted by this unidentified object, whether from a spatial dimension or other aspects, far exceeds the level that our current technology can achieve, and it is more like an alien life form."
The researcher himself found it hard to believe when he said that.
"Based on our speculation, it may land here in 3 days."
Morian's expression finally changed slightly.
Three days later, it was exactly the time I had arranged to meet that group of people…
"Speed up the interception, aim for a landing on the fourth day... or even better, make it land tomorrow!"
Morian gave the order: whatever you do, don't interfere with his business.
The researcher's lips twitched; it seemed this wasn't something they could decide.
"Um, about this..."
The researcher was about to speak when he immediately received an unquestionable gaze from Morian.
The light flashed by, then returned to its usual gentle appearance.
"Hurry up and do it, otherwise it will be our fault if we threaten even one of our interstellar citizens. Also, set up an emergency defensive shield in the next few days to protect the town."
"yes."
The researcher quickly agreed and ran back to the project team.
"Everyone!! Dean Morian has ordered us to intercept and land this unidentified object. We're going to have to work overtime tonight!"
...
When Lu Mingming woke up, his head was still groggy.
Last night she had a nightmare in which five people, whose faces she couldn't make out, each had different colored hair, were chasing her from behind.
Lu Mingming kept running forward, almost slipping and falling, but luckily someone grabbed her hand. When she looked up, she saw a giant beast with a tiger's face.
Lu Mingming brushed her teeth and washed her face in a daze.
With only two days of rest left before that absurd date, and no one willing to change their mind at the last minute, she realized this was a problem.
Lu Mingming opened the StarNet, grabbed a handful of messy hair, and looked distressed.
If all else fails, pretending to be sick is fine too!
A sudden inspiration struck Lu Mingming.
"Beep—beep—"
The computer sent a notification – it was Red Jade Child.
Lu Mingming breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing the sender's name, a clear smile spreading across her face.
Finally, there's something to relax about.
She opened message 1 to read it.
[Hongyu: I heard you just finished training a batch of juveniles and are currently on vacation. I'd like to invite you to visit the Merfolk.]
Lu Mingming read the words one by one and confirmed that the three characters "amusement park" did not appear again.
She solemnly agreed.
[Lu Mingming: When?]
[Hongyu: Next weekend.]
There's still one week left, great! The timing didn't quite match up!
Lu Mingming was tormented by the three dates that clashed with each other's schedules.
[Lu Mingming: I couldn't be happier. Come to think of it, I've never been inside the Merfolk territory.]
[Hongyu: That's good. I'll be waiting for you at the children's playground in Xingfuxing Amusement Park the day after tomorrow. See you then!]
The other party's online status quickly turned gray, clearly indicating they had no intention of receiving any messages.
Not again?!
When Lu Mingming saw the words "amusement park," he almost had a nervous breakdown.
This group is definitely planning a prank on her, absolutely!
Lu Mingming felt a surge of anger. She shut down all channels for receiving messages, put on a loose coat, and went out.
In short, put everything else out of your mind today!
As for the date the day after tomorrow, I'll think about it then!
With the rapid changes in the StarNet network, fewer and fewer people know the streamer Lu Mingming. In addition, Lu Mingming deliberately wore a mask to cover her face, so this trip went smoothly.
She happily ended the day, carrying a newly purchased box of desserts and humming a tune as she returned home.
Suddenly, Lu Mingming stopped walking.
In the distance, a familiar figure stood at her doorstep, his blond hair shining brightly even in the night.
He wasn't wearing Oranner's usual formal attire, but rather a very serious military combat uniform, which created a great sense of oppression.
Lu Mingming glanced at the gun at the man's waist and finally stopped about a meter away from him.
She asked in a low, cautious voice, "Is it Orannal?"
Lu Mingming was both doubtful and hopeful.
Orannell did not reply to any of her messages for three days.
The man slowly turned around, his expression both familiar and strange. His gaze was clearly distant, yet it also seemed as if a strong, uncontrollable greed was welling up within him because they hadn't seen each other for a long time.
Lu Mingming couldn't discern the origin of the other party's behavior, but this old acquaintance had clearly lowered her guard.
"Has something unexpected happened within the alliance?"
Lu Mingming quickly took out his key and opened the door.
Oranner remained silent, not uttering a single word.
"Come in quickly, it's chilly at night. I just bought some desserts, I'll heat them up and they can fill your stomach."
Having received the invitation, Oranner's military boots creaked as they trotted across the floor.
The other person seemed to be entering the house for the first time, looking around and touching every spot with their fingers, as if trying to imprint everything firmly in their eyes.
