Chapter 223 A Minor Conflict with Oranar

My whole body felt like it was on fire.

The scorching heat wave burned her, her skin gradually becoming unbearably hot, as if the air itself was filled with scorching flames, destroying her flesh and internal organs along with it.

The water in the body evaporates and eventually turns into rising water vapor in the scorching environment.

Lu Mingming took a deep, heavy breath into the air, holding it to relieve the need in her lungs, while leaning against the protective shield wall with difficulty, waiting for rescue.

She was reluctant to open the protective shield, fearing it would amplify the external impact and cause all her previous efforts to be in vain.

The leader of the witch clan ruthlessly self-destructed inside the protective shield, leaving no trace. His entire body transformed into flames and then into dust, and from that moment on, the witch clan was never seen again.

Will anyone find me? Or will I die with him?

As Lu Mingming thought about this, one familiar face after another flashed through her mind.

Their figures were intertwined with memories of their past lives, ultimately leaving only a blurry silhouette in their minds.

"If I die... will he be sad?"

...

"…water…"

Lu Mingming mumbled incoherently, her voice like it was being cut by a knife; a single word could have killed her.

Upon hearing this sound, a series of chaotic noises erupted from the surrounding area.

"Sister, you're awake?!"

His voice was filled with excitement and trembling.

Immediately afterwards, a little warm water was used to moisten Lu Mingming's lips, relieving a slight feeling of heat.

Lu Mingming stubbornly cried out, "...I want to drink water."

Inside the quiet and spacious ward.

With trembling hands, Yi Fu used a cotton swab to apply warm water to Lu Mingming's lips, moistening his chapped lips.

Even when giving water, I dare not give too much, relying entirely on these tiny drops of water from cotton swabs to provide the smallest amount.

"I'm dying of thirst."

Lu Mingming took a long time to catch his breath before managing to utter those words.

1. I opened my eyes, and the bright light shone directly into them.

Out of the corner of my eye, I could see Yi Fu with a mournful face, holding a cotton swab, looking like he had just attended a funeral, curled up in a ball, feeling wronged.

The puppy wanted to jump into its owner's arms when it saw that the owner had woken up, but restrained itself from doing so.

Yi Fu quickly pressed the button by the bedside to summon the doctor.

Lu Mingming's mind went blank as he tilted his neck to survey his surroundings.

The pristine white walls and the surrounding equipment immediately made her realize she was in a hospital.

All memories are returned to their source.

"So he didn't die after all..."

Do you sound disappointed?

When Yi Fu heard this, he was so angry he almost died.

"Do you know that when I arrived, you were so poisoned by the gas that you were barely clinging to life! Only 11 layers of membranes protected your last line of defense, barely preventing you from being completely incapacitated by the gas!"

When this matter is mentioned, Yi Fu has completely transformed from an obedient little puppy into a wolf cub capable of devouring people.

"I didn't know... you were so fierce..."

A hoarse voice drifted from Lu Mingming's broken throat.

"If we don't stop it... half of Xing Fuxing will be destroyed."

“Sister, you should also consider me when you do this…we are worried about you.”

Yi Fu lowered his head, making it impossible to see his specific expression.

"When I heard that sound, I guessed that you must be secretly preparing for these things."

When this matter was brought up, Yi Fu felt a growing sense of unease.

It wasn't because of Lu Mingming, but because he felt like he had always been excluded from the acceptance of the people he cared about, which he found completely unbearable.

"Okay, okay, this won't happen again..."

Lu Mingming coughed lightly once.

"You still need to think about the future!!"

Yi Fu's eyes widened, and he slammed down the water glass beside him, issuing a warning.

"Don't even talk about the future, this is the last time, and it's absolutely not allowed to happen again—absolutely not allowed!"

"Okay, okay."

Lu Mingming nodded vigorously, at least giving those who cared about him a chance to relax.

Not long after, the doctor came up and gave Lu Mingming a full-body examination, and reported: "There's nothing wrong. He may have suffered from mild heatstroke due to staying in the protective enclosure for too long, and his throat has been damaged to some extent. He can be discharged after resting for another week."

Fortunately, nothing serious happened, which finally put Yi Fu at ease.

"Don't tell Orannal and the others about this. They'll definitely be worried. It's best not to bother them."

Lu Mingming whispered a reminder.

"Sister, you're so considerate of them, but why don't you care about my feelings?"

Despite grumbling, Yi Fu obediently followed Lu Mingming's instructions.

All inquiries about the situation were met with the reply, "Everything is fine."

That is indeed the case.

A week later, Lu Mingming was discharged from the hospital in good health, showing no signs of weakness as before. The little cubs all came to greet him with gifts.

Double happiness.

The news that Oranar had captured Goodfin alive was broadcast on the StarCraft website. The old leader of the alliance had abdicated, leaving Oranar as the new leader of the alliance. The time for Oranar to take office was confirmed to be in the autumn or winter of the second half of the year.

With everything settled, the people of the main planet finally had a brief respite.

Everyone came one after another to check on Lu Mingming's condition, but Oranar was surrounded by ministers and government officials.

His position as the Lord of the Alliance restricted most of his travel time, and he could only learn a little bit of relevant information from the Star Chief's reports.

After quickly finishing his business, Oranar's first priority was to find Lu Mingming.

He casually gave instructions to his trusted aides.

"The leader of the Witch Clan may have escaped. Keep a close eye on everything inside Xingfu Star and report any abnormalities immediately."
