Xiao Cheng barely managed to regain her senses, shook her head vigorously, and struggled to get up from the ground.
Her wounds haven't fully healed yet, and it will take a long time for her to recover from the excessive blood loss. She's terribly weak right now.
The other players are gradually regaining their powers, remaining vigilant, but it seems they don't intend to actually make a move anytime soon.
They are observing.
At this point, no one would be foolish enough to simply believe what the NPCs say.
Su Xin and Qiao Liao were still unconscious. They had fallen quite hard, and their breathing was frighteningly weak. Xiao Cheng was afraid they had injured their internal organs, so she didn't dare to move them rashly. Instead, she held the broken dagger and stayed by their side.
Not far away, as their powers returned to their bodies, Fang He and Xu Chu recovered slightly and were no longer as weak as before, unable to even walk.
The two rushed over to Xiao Cheng. Fang He looked at Xiao Cheng covered in blood with concern, hesitated for a moment, and finally managed to say in a hoarse voice, "...Does it hurt?"
Hearing his trembling voice, Xiao Cheng forced a smile and teased him in a lighthearted manner, "I'm fine, I won't die for now. But you, how come you're so weak?"
Seeing that the players were still not making a move, A009 became somewhat impatient. He pulled out a megaphone from somewhere and urged them in an exaggerated tone: "What are you all standing there for? Don't think I'm joking with you, do you? Don't forget the rules of this hunt! Only one! Only one can survive!"
The insect mother chirped twice near his ear, and then A009 suddenly stood up in a rage, as if provoked, and waved his arms wildly.
"How dare you defy me! Who gave you the audacity to defy me?!"
Immediately afterward, the sky darkened abruptly, and two bolts of lightning shot out from his fingertips, so fast that only afterimages could be seen. They silently struck the two players' heads, exploding into two clouds of blood mist.
Two headless corpses lay in pools of blood.
The number on the screen jumped suddenly, changing from 27 to 25.
There are 25 players left.
A009 seemed to finally breathe a sigh of relief, pointing down and laughing gleefully: "Disobeying me! This is what happens! Since you don't like to take the initiative, I can add another hunting rule! Five minutes! If I don't see anything satisfactory within five minutes, I will personally take your lives!"
The atmosphere instantly became incredibly tense.
The stench of blood filled the air, like a knife hanging over the players' heads.
"Damn it! Attack! At least there's a chance to survive if we attack!" someone finally roared, his superpowers erupting instantly as he attacked the player closest to him.
"Sorry! In dungeons, you have to fight for your life!" He seized the initiative and, taking advantage of the opponent's lack of reaction time, unleashed a devastating attack that nearly took away half of the opponent's life.
As things started to get heated here, more and more players were drawn in, and for a time only Xiao Cheng and his group remained relatively calm.
“We can’t go on like this.” Xu Chu frowned. “He has no intention of letting us go. Continuing to kill each other like this will only make us die sooner.”
They understand the logic, but there's basically no solution to the current situation.
A009 naturally wouldn't let them enjoy their peaceful time there, and continued to loudly urge the other players on through the megaphone.
"Are you all blind? There are two half-dead people over there! Aren't you going to take these easy points? Go over there, what are you hesitating about? Or should I put it this way? If either of them dies, I'll consider adding another survivor."
"Damn it! What have we ever done to him?!" Xiao Cheng couldn't help but curse, staring intently at A009 on the stone pillar, wishing he could tear it off and skin it alive right now.
Then I thought about it again and realized that I really did have a grudge against him.
Seeing that the group of players was starting to hesitate about whether to join forces to take them out,
The temptation of exchanging one life for another is too great.
What's more, it only requires sacrificing five complete strangers.
"Are you all crazy?! You actually believe his nonsense?! Do you really think that if you fight to the end, you'll actually survive?!" Xiao Cheng swept a warning look over the few restless people.
These players had all witnessed their abilities to some extent and knew that none of them were easy to mess with. Now, they couldn't figure out how well they had recovered, so for a moment, no one dared to go any further.
The insect mother chirped twice more in a short, sharp tone, which didn't sound like anything pleasant.
A009 scratched his head irritably: "Useless! Idiots! How can there be such boring trash as you! Since that's how it is... since that's how it is..."
Suddenly, as if he had come up with a brilliant idea, he put his hands on his hips and burst into arrogant and unrestrained laughter.
Xiao Cheng was wondering what kind of trouble he was up to when she suddenly felt a chill down her back and a sharp pain in her chest.
She belatedly turned her head to look and saw that half of Su Xin's arm had turned into bone spurs, the sharp tips of which had sunk into the flesh, and blood was gushing out.
Her pupils were an unnatural black, with no whites visible, and a deathly gray aura settled over her face. She continued to strain, but Fang He held the bone spur tightly, preventing it from going in even half an inch further.
"Heh...heh..."
A strange sound came from her throat, and the edge of the bone spur quietly sharpened, eventually turning into a gleaming blade that embedded itself deeply into Fang He's palm.
Blood gushed out, dripping onto the ground from the pale bone blade. Xiao Cheng took a deep breath, forcing herself to calm down, and gently touched the blade with her finger, saying slowly, "None."
