Chapter 24 Mental Illness Ward (8)



"Hopefully there's really nothing wrong," Xiao Cheng echoed, quickening her pace.

The moment she stepped into the stairwell, she heard the sound of water droplets falling. Xiao Cheng's vision blurred for a moment, and then the scene shifted, and they were back at the door of the ward.

The corridor was deserted, eerily quiet. They felt as if they were trapped in a solitary space, their heartbeats and breathing completely shut out.

The staircase is right across the corridor, but there's no doubt that even if we tried again, the result would be the same.

"Are we trapped here?" Su Xin looked around anxiously. "Did we go the wrong way? All the NPCs have gone into the wall."

"No rush, it's probably not that simple," Xiao Cheng said, shaking her head. "Anyway, let's go back to the ward first."

There are less than ten minutes left until the deadline.

All the windows in the ward were sealed shut; the door was the only way out. Xiao Cheng frowned and hesitated for a long time before saying, "If there's no other way, then we'll just have to try going again."

“What if we still can’t find our way? Will we really die here?” Su Xin looked like she was about to cry, but she tried her best to calm herself down. “No, there must be something we’ve overlooked. The clues may not be in the corridor.”

As she spoke, she looked around the entire ward. Xiao Cheng didn't have a better idea for the time being, so she followed her to search.

Their gazes lingered at the foot of the bed.

"Xiao...Xiao Cheng, found it. It's not 5 and 6, it's 6 and 5." Su Xin tugged at Xiao Cheng's hand and said somewhat incoherently.

"The bed numbers are reversed." A thought flashed through Xiao Cheng's mind. "Su Xin, this isn't our room."
