“You’re the last lunatic!” she yelled at the gardener.
Everything around them froze instantly, and the thick darkness swallowed the entire ward. In the silent space, there were only two blurry points of light.
Xiao Cheng, and the gardener standing opposite her.
"What did you say?" The gardener's tone was too calm, as if it were just a simple statement. His left cheek was crying, and his right cheek was laughing. Two black beads rolled down silently, like tears.
The area covered by the black beads was two hideous scars, and the eyelids were stuck together as if they had been burned.
"What is your illness? Schizophrenia?" Xiao Cheng asked, her voice quickening unconsciously as she became wary of the gardener's advances.
"You are the dean, and you are the gardener. Half of you are redemption, and the other half is killing. You once chose to turn a blind eye, thus blinding yourself, but the dead are constantly reminding you that your treatment has failed."
"Yes, how could my treatment have failed?" the gardener asked, utterly puzzled, as if he really wanted to get an answer from Xiao Cheng.
Xiao Cheng didn't answer. She concealed a trace of sorrow in her eyes and asked calmly, "Is this the truth you wanted, Gardener?"
A long silence followed.
The gardener let out a long sigh, and his body gradually dissipated into countless spots of light. Then, the spots of light merged into the original light, becoming increasingly dazzling and radiating the heat of flames, sweeping away all the darkness.
