The bus driver showed no intention of stopping, neither dodging nor avoiding the bus, and even accelerated forward.
Just as they were about to collide, a screeching sound of friction filled the air, and the car came to an abrupt stop, its body coming to rest sideways on the road due to the immense inertia.
The next second, the entire car exploded into pieces with a bang, billowing black smoke and raging flames completely obscuring Xiao Cheng's vision.
Amidst the towering flames, a person emerged against the light, carrying a dark, humanoid object in one hand.
"Holy crap, Superman!" Xiao Cheng exclaimed from the bottom of his heart.
Then she saw the person lift their face and use their free hand to fold themselves up.
"Holy crap, Fang He?!" Xiao Cheng's pupils dilated in shock, and she jumped up from her seat.
She also saw clearly what Fang He was carrying: her original travel companion, a woman in purple who was almost burned to a crisp.
The burning wreckage of the car blocked the bus's path. The driver reluctantly stepped on the brakes, but before the bus had even come to a complete stop, Fang He had already walked over and knocked on the door.
"Excuse me, could you give me a ride?" His voice came into the car, sounding muffled and somewhat distorted.
The tour guide stood by the bus door, his face grim, and refused: "No."
"But tour guide, my travel companion is still outside," Xiao Cheng said innocently. "You can't bear to see me all alone, can you? Tour guide, I'm so pitiful all by myself."
The tour guide's face instantly darkened, and she coldly looked at Xiao Cheng: "Are you sure you want your travel companion?"
"Of course." Xiao Cheng nodded with utmost sincerity.
The tour guide stared at her for a while, then suddenly grinned, revealing a malicious smile: "In that case, fine."
She reached out and opened the bus door.
