Deadly Amusement Park.
This doesn't sound like a good place.
But the receptionist clearly wouldn't let players stay in the visitor center. She asked in a businesslike tone, "Is there something you're worried about not going inside to play?"
"Do you have a map? Or an introduction to the featured activities, or an event schedule would also be helpful," Xiao Cheng asked cautiously.
"If you need something, why don't you take a look at the amusement park's online store?" the receptionist asked her in a completely indifferent tone.
Xiao Cheng: "..." Okay, that means I have it but I have to buy it.
"Dear guests, the park's opening hours are limited," the receptionist urged again, even going to the back to personally open the small door leading directly into the park for them, practically saying, "Hurry up and go in!"
Xu Chu was the first to walk over, with the woman in red being led behind him by a red rope, as docile as a pet.
"Have a pleasant visit." The receptionist smiled and bowed to him. "Congratulations! As the first visitor to the park today, you have earned 3 park points. Would you like to save them temporarily?"
This was a completely unexpected surprise. Xu Chu opened his mouth in astonishment: "Ah, I want to save it."
"We look forward to your purchase." The receptionist's attitude visibly became more enthusiastic.
Player number 5 stomped his foot in frustration and rushed out second, but unfortunately, there was no second-place reward as he had expected. He stood there dejectedly, muttering, "Three points."
The woman in green mirrored his gesture and said in the same dejected tone, "Three points."
Seeing that nothing happened after the two left, the other players also made up their minds and gradually left the visitor center.
Xiao Cheng and Fang He both intended to stay until the end. As they passed the front desk, Fang He paused slightly and asked in a low voice, "Don't we need to check tickets?"
A moment of surprise flashed across the receptionist's face, but she quickly put on a smile again: "Go in, your tour guide must have already bought your tickets in advance."
After the two of them left the visitor center, the receptionist said to them before closing the small door, "Dear visitors, as is customary, it is best to visit separately. After all, there are so many attractions in the park, there is no need to waste time queuing."
"What do you guys think?" Player #4 said softly. "My personal suggestion is to split up. After all, time is limited, and we need to get more information, whether it's for amusement park points or anything else."
“We can split up, but we must maintain contact,” Xu Chu suggested. “Every hour, we should leave a message in a prominent place, followed by our respective numbers, so that we know at least whether the other is still alive.”
No one raised any objections.
So they each chose a direction and headed deeper into the amusement park.
Xiao Cheng and Fang He chose the path that faced the castle.
The park is surrounded by trees and there are no landmark facilities. The only thing that can be clearly identified is the dreamlike castle in the distance.
The road was narrow, barely wide enough for two people to walk side by side. On both sides were increasingly dense bushes. Further ahead, they saw several loudspeakers shaped like animals, hidden deep in the bushes.
Upbeat and rousing music blared from the loudspeaker, occasionally interspersed with the sound of rushing water. Following the loudspeaker's directions, they walked until they reached the end of the path, where a wide-open space suddenly appeared before them.
This is a fountain square. A small cart decorated with exquisite colored lights is parked next to the fountain. A huge turntable is placed on the cart for a dart game. On the shelf next to the turntable are many boxes of different sizes.
The shop owner, dressed in a red mascot costume, greeted us warmly: "Dear visitors, would you like to play the darts game? For just 1 amusement park point, if you hit a designated area with your dart, you can draw a blind box with points."
"Boss, do we look like we have points?" Xiao Cheng glanced at his spinning wheel, which was almost entirely filled with "thank you for your patronage," clearly a trap.
"It's alright, it's alright," the shopkeeper said with an awkward smile. "You can pay on credit. Let's have a round, it'll be a good start. If you hit the target, you can pay me back the point."
"Extensions are out of the question," Xiao Cheng said, dispelling the shop owner's idea. "Who knows if your blind boxes still have 'Thank You for Your Patronage' inside?"
"Hey! Don't rush off! Without a map and activity schedule, it's basically impossible for you to find other activities. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, so think it over carefully." The shopkeeper reached out to stop the two.
“That’s right, the shop owner is very sincere.” Fang He stopped and echoed, but before the shop owner could nod in agreement, he changed the subject, “Since we’re already here, shop owner, since you’re so enthusiastic, why don’t you give us a 'check-in' before you leave?”
At his prompting, Xiao Cheng, bewildered, pulled out the visitor guide and turned to the second blank page.
The shop owner looked at the logo of the Deadly Tour Group in the header and immediately deflated. He sighed and took out a stamp from the mascot costume, then stamped it with a spinning wheel-shaped stamp.
Immediately afterwards, a burst of enthusiastic applause suddenly rang out from the loudspeaker, followed by a calm voice from the front desk: "Congratulations to guest number 1 for successfully completing the D-level attraction, the darts wheel, and earning 3 park points."
The shop owner turned his back to them and waved his hand dismissively, as if sending away a plague: "Hurry up and leave, seeing you makes my heart ache."
"Should we continue forward?" Xiao Cheng looked at the road at the other end of the fountain square. It got narrower and narrower as they went forward, and after a final sharp turn, it disappeared completely from sight.
"No, let's go back." Fang He shook his head without hesitation. "Let's go and see what this so-called Paradise Mall is all about."
