As they rushed out of the building, several animals at the bottom slowly raised their heads, their faces covered in bits of flesh and blood, thick saliva dripping down their faces. But because of the chainsaw in Xiao Cheng's hand, they hesitated to go forward.
Xiao Cheng gasped as she looked at the rabbit at the head of the pack, which was bigger than a person. She hadn't thought much of it from the rooftop, but now that she was up close, it was absolutely astonishing.
Could such a creature actually exist?
"Hurry up," Fang He urged softly. "There's lion's blood on the saw; they won't dare come any closer for now."
"Even in this situation, there's still a food chain?" Xiao Cheng felt that this was absurd yet somehow reasonable. Holding the rapidly spinning chainsaw, she slowly moved to the side.
The animals' eyes remained fixed on them. The rabbit looked warily at the blood on the chainsaw, letting out a low, menacing growl.
"Is that what rabbits call?" Seeing that she could get past them, Xiao Cheng relaxed slightly.
"Is this something we need to focus on?" Fang He complained.
The two walked further and further away, and just when they thought they could get rid of those animals, a sudden change occurred.
The sound of bones grinding together came from behind. Xiao Cheng turned around reflexively and saw the clown's remains slowly rising from the pool of blood.
The broken bones automatically pieced themselves back together, and in the hollow of his chest was a powerfully pulsating red crystal.
The clown's face was mostly torn apart, with bits of flesh hanging precariously from his jaw, falling to the ground piece by piece with his movements.
The red crystal pulsed faster and faster, and glowing red veins spread out from it, weaving into the clown's limbs. He was completely enveloped in a halo of light, and the texture of muscles gradually became visible on his bones.
The clown stretched out his still-healed hand and gently stroked the animals: "Do not be afraid."
The animals huddled under his palm, trembling uncontrollably.
“Eat them,” the clown said calmly, “even if it’s just to pave the way with your corpses.”
A rumbling sound came from underground, and countless red crystals burst forth from the soil, disappearing into the animals' bodies. Skyscrapers collapsed with a crash, and more and more animals gathered together, growing larger and larger, their muscles bulging, and red veins spreading across their entire bodies.
The others scrambled out of the ruins in a disheveled state. Player 7 was struck squarely by a piece of rubble and thrown heavily to the ground. The woman in blue, who was tied to her, suddenly let out a scream of excruciating pain.
A wolf pounced and snatched the woman in blue in its mouth, tearing her body in two. Her lower body was chewed up and swallowed by the wolf, while her upper body remained tied to Number 7, leaving a long trail of blood on the ground.
She groaned in pain and struggled to crawl toward number 7 using both arms.
“Mine…my…” She grabbed Player 7’s ankle and bit down on it with a frenzied expression.
Blood and flesh splattered everywhere.
Player number 7 screamed as his half-leg was quickly swallowed by the woman in blue. At the same time, a faint glow emanated from the red rope, and the woman in blue showed a satisfied expression as her severed leg began to slowly grow back.
"Holy crap! This was supposed to be reserve food?!" Xiao Cheng didn't have time to think. He raised the chainsaw and smoothly chopped off the blue-clad woman's head.
Fang He grabbed Player 7 from the ground and said, "Bear with the pain!"
The animals roared and charged forward, kicking up a cloud of dust. The clown sat atop a lion, emitting a screech, arrogant laugh.
"What happened!" Xu Chu quickly caught up, and the woman in red couldn't keep up with his speed, so she was pulled up like a balloon.
“We’ll kill the clown,” Fang He said succinctly.
Player #7 was already in excruciating pain, and upon hearing this, he immediately exploded: "Why are you killing him! If you're going to kill him, at least kill him clean! He's still alive!"
"Who knew he was so petty, using his ultimate skill even after being resurrected." Xiao Cheng felt like her lungs were about to burst, and her throat was full of the taste of blood.
Animals had already caught up with them and were felled to the ground by her chainsaw, but after a short while, the corpses rose again under the influence of the red crystal.
"Damn! This is ridiculous!" Xiao Cheng was covered in blood, and the chainsaw in his hand was either broken or out of power, and its speed gradually slowed down, making a dry creaking sound.
"How far is the exit?" Xu Chu picked up a large rock and used it as a weapon, forcefully piercing a wolf's eye with the sharp end of the rock.
Player 7, weakened by blood loss, slumped against Fang He's shoulder, on the verge of fainting. The woman in blue, dragged behind, wasn't quite dead yet, stubbornly groping around for her head.
"Almost there, just ahead." As another head was chopped off, Xiao Cheng's chainsaw came to a complete stop. She wiped the blood from her eyes and gasped for breath.
They reached the tightly closed entrance door before being completely surrounded.
The animals behind them gradually slowed down, and the clown rode the lion to the front, looking at them with exceptional contempt.
"No one can leave my paradise." He arrogantly spread his hands, and the animals behind him knelt down with their heads bowed in submission.
Xiao Cheng, refusing to believe it, pushed the door open with all her might.
It remained completely still.
"I respect everyone's decision; you can choose the animal you like," the clown announced, raising his head high.
Xu Chu clenched his fists angrily, his arm muscles bulging, ready to pounce on him and fight him to the death.
Fang He reached out to stop him: "Wait."
"What's wrong?" Xiao Cheng knew he had a solution, and looked over with shining eyes.
