Everything just now seemed like an illusion. In the blink of an eye, the two students vanished, leaving only two dusty desks, empty and as if no one had ever been there.
On the platform, Teacher Liu waved his pointer, randomly selecting students to come up and do exercises.
"I'd like to see someone volunteer, but if not..." She looked around at everyone in the classroom, chuckled, and continued, "Of course, that won't happen, don't you think?"
She placed the pointer on the podium, its sharp end embedding shallowly into the surface, leaving a sesame-sized hole.
As soon as he finished speaking, the students seemed to have suddenly turned on some strange button, raising their hands in a frenzy. Some even climbed onto the tables and waved their arms wildly to attract Mr. Liu's attention.
But all of this happened quietly.
Xiao Cheng felt as if she had watched a brief, absurd silent play, finding it incredibly bizarre.
Teacher Liu nodded in satisfaction, then tilted her head back and let out a series of booming laughs: "I knew you would all satisfy me! It's a pity that only one person can come up to answer the questions, so..."
She stepped down from the podium with a pointer in her hand, her feet clad in exquisite high heels, the heels sharp as daggers, making a crisp clicking sound when they touched the ground.
The sound echoed for a long time in the deathly silent classroom.
She walked all the way to the back of the classroom, then stopped and pointed her pointer at "it" from afar.
"Then it's you," Teacher Liu said casually.
Xiao Cheng watched as "it" dragged its heavy steps all the way to the podium, its expression somber, like a prisoner walking to the execution ground.
Teacher Liu followed closely behind "it" with a pointer in hand, encouraging it gently: "It's okay if you can't do it. Be brave, I believe you can do it."
Perhaps because "it" was supporting her body, Xiao Cheng actually felt a bit nervous and empathetic at this moment, holding her breath as she watched "it" pick up the chalk and write the word "answer" stroke by stroke on the blackboard.
"What's wrong? Is there some difficulty?" Teacher Liu asked gently again.
It didn't speak, but remained motionless in front of the blackboard, its arm still suspended in the air.
Xiao Cheng saw a dark mist emerge from above "it," forming a blurry human face in the air.
"Answer me." The human face floated to a position very close to her, and black energy emanated from its breath.
Caught off guard by the strong breath, Xiao Cheng covered her nose and took a step back in disgust: "Did you eat black garlic?"
"Answer me," the face persisted, black smoke billowing upwards, soon turning the air around it gray.
And it smelled terrible.
But only Xiao Cheng could see these things.
Teacher Liu remained dedicated and played the role of a good teacher, patiently encouraging and guiding "it".
"Is there something you don't understand? It's not a difficult question; you can definitely answer it, right?"
Faced with Teacher Liu's urging, the human face seemed to get anxious and suddenly swelled up. Countless fine black wisps of energy surged out of the students' bodies in the form of threads and quickly converged into "its" body.
Answer me!
A human face suddenly loomed closer, opened its blood-red maw, and let out a deafening roar.
"Why are you yelling so loudly?! You're the loudest one, and you don't brush your teeth!" Xiao Cheng's ears were ringing, and it took her a long time to hear again. She couldn't take it anymore and yelled back, "Answer me? Answer me? What the hell? Just ask me!"
The face seemed to be intimidated by her aura, and even the black mist trembled violently.
Then it began to slowly condense, eventually shrinking to the size of a fist, and silently re-entered "its" body along with the remaining black energy.
It seemed to come back to life, slowly putting down the chalk in its hand, turning to face Teacher Liu, and bowing respectfully.
Then, "it" solemnly took a deep breath and began to read in a monotonous tone: "Answer you, answer you, answer you my ass! Go ahead and ask!"
Xiao Cheng gasped. Was this something to be said?!
The atmosphere instantly froze. Teacher Liu lowered her head slightly, fiddling with her pointer, and then suddenly let out a sneer that seemed to have no meaning, and thrust it out like a fencing sword.
One, two, three.
It was riddled with tiny, bloody holes, from which blood spurted out, soaking most of Teacher Liu's face.
Its body began to twist and turn, gradually transforming into Xiao Cheng's cheap roommate. The skin on its face rippled and undulated, as if countless worms were wriggling beneath the skin.
Then pieces of its face peeled off automatically, falling to the ground with a thud.
Countless dark tentacles emerged from its damaged face, each tip bearing a bright red mouth that opened and closed, revealing fine shark teeth inside.
"Hehe...I'll eat you!"
It made a muffled sound, and its tentacles twisted and reached towards Teacher Liu. In the blink of an eye, those mouths devoured her, leaving only a clean skeleton.
It lovingly opened its arms and tightly embraced the skeleton in its arms.
"Hehe...I'll eat you up!"
The tentacles swirled in the air, seemingly unsatisfied, before suddenly lunging at Xiao Cheng.
Countless black phantoms flashed before his eyes in an instant, and Xiao Cheng's body was slowly eroded by the spreading black energy, revealing holes that were corroded out one by one.
