Chapter 92 Grades are everything (22)

After an unknown amount of time, Xiao Cheng finally woke up groggily.

She felt her body was unusually heavy, and even the slightest movement of a finger would cause intense pain.

Her mind was a jumbled mess of thoughts, almost a complete mess. Many fragmented and unfamiliar fragments appeared, but before she could see them clearly, they quickly flashed by and were sealed away in the depths of her memory.

My temples were throbbing with pain, and my vision was blurry; I couldn't see anything except for the blood.

She struggled to sit up, but couldn't muster any strength. Her hand tilted slightly and touched a large, sticky mess. The feeling was disgusting, no less than cleaning a sewer drain with bare hands.

Xiao Cheng simply gave up struggling and lay there for a long time before he felt his strength slowly returning.

Only then did she feel as if she had come back to life. She slowly struggled to her feet and blinked hard, trying to see what was in front of her.

This looks like a bathroom.

Xiao Cheng looked around blankly, and through a hazy, blood-red filter, finally confirmed her current location.

The pain in her chest was still throbbing. She reached out and touched it, only to find that the puncture wound had healed, leaving only a horrifying bloodstain on her clothes. It was still warm and not completely dry, proving that what had just happened was not her imagination.

"Holy crap, can soul cultivators be this powerful?" Xiao Cheng patted his chest in disbelief. It quickly healed completely, and even the lingering pain disappeared entirely.

There was a large pool of blood on the ground. Xiao Cheng's eyesight was limited, so he couldn't see what it was. Unable to suppress his curiosity, and afraid of missing some clues, he forced himself to squat down and grope around for a while, despite feeling nauseous.

This sticky stuff looks like skin.

This piece is meat; it must have been torn off raw.

This is a bone spur, broken in the middle and into several pieces.

Xiao Cheng finally confirmed that the remains on the ground came from half of the counselor's tail, which was almost torn into strips of flesh. He wondered which fierce warrior had done it.

She felt safe for the time being, so she slowly stood up, rubbed her sticky fingers, and decided to take a hot shower first.

It turns out that hot baths are indeed a great way to relax.

The air was filled with warm, moist vapor, and Xiao Cheng's face was beaming with a contented smile. Her hair was still wet, dripping water.

"It feels so good." She sighed contentedly, then suddenly remembered that the bathroom seemed to have a time limit.

But no matter how you calculate it, she has definitely been here for more than half an hour.

But nothing happened inside.

By this time, Xiao Cheng had almost gotten used to seeing things through a built-in filter, and decided to go out first, thinking that maybe the old man wasn't on the night shift.

Then, when she lifted the curtain, she saw the old man staring at her with his cloudy eyes, so angry that he stopped rocking in his chair.

Xiao Cheng: "..." What a conscientious old man.

"You're overtime, get out of here!" The old man's eyes signaled for her to get lost, but his words were clearly a show of bravado.

Xiao Cheng found it a bit strange; was he afraid of him?

Thinking this, she grinned and leaned closer: "Grandpa, are you on the night shift? You must be tired. But don't always lie in the rocking chair. Life is about movement."

The old man shifted to the side with a strange expression, then seemed to suddenly realize something, freezing in place. Even Xiao Cheng found his posture awkward.

"Go! Go now!" He waved his hand forcefully as if shooing away flies, his face contorted with wrinkles.

But the more he resisted, the more Xiao Cheng wanted to have a good talk with him, mainly because of his rebellious nature.

She casually flipped herself onto the old man's desk, swinging her legs idly: "Grandpa, aren't you bored here all by yourself?"

The old man remained silent, staring at her coldly, yet he dared not even breathe, creating an atmosphere of unease.

"But you should be able to hear a lot of gossip here, right? After all, showering and going to the toilet are best done in groups. It's such a waste to listen to gossip alone, old man. Why don't you share some with me since I'm willing to chat with you?" Xiao Cheng asked, ignoring his reaction.

But the old man clearly had no desire to share; he just kept repeating, "Let's go!"

They didn't even say "get lost."

Xiao Cheng became even more composed: "Ah, don't be so stingy, or I'll take the initiative? Let's just find a topic to talk about. Teacher Liu and Sparta, you were both very good students here before, right?"

When Xiao Cheng left the bathhouse, it was already dawn.

The old man looked like he was sending away a plague god, and he visibly relaxed.

Xiao Cheng hummed a broken tune as she walked alone through the deserted school. With each step, the sky changed rapidly, from dawn to noon, and then to the setting sun.

"The school."

"This should be a good place."

She walked to her classroom, sat by the window bathed in the slanting rays of the setting sun, and flipped through the pages of a new book. The book felt wonderful to the touch, with black characters printed on the soft white paper, emitting a faint scent of ink.

After watching for a while, she walked out of the classroom and climbed all the way to the rooftop at the top of the teaching building, where she saw her counselor standing on the edge of the roof with his back to her, wearing a white shirt.

"This is truly a wonderful place with a wide view."

Xiao Cheng walked to his side, lowered her eyes and took in the entire school.

“I was really looking forward to you all staying here until graduation.” Ms. Si was not surprised by her arrival and said to her in a calm tone, “To be very honest, you are the most unconventional student I have ever met.”

Xiao Cheng sighed: "Okay, I'm sorry for ruining your tail. You might not believe it, but I think I have a dual personality, although I only just found out myself."

The counselor silently pushed up his gold-rimmed glasses.

Xiao Cheng didn't mind the awkward silence and asked with a smile, "There's another question. What if it thunders and rains while you're standing here like this?"

counselor:"……"

Xiao Cheng was very happy, and the smile on his face gradually widened, becoming unrestrained and enthusiastic.

Then it suddenly disappeared.

She looked down at her toes, her expression weary: "Okay, I admit I'm a little scared. I don't know what's inside me, but if it can tear off your tail, it can certainly tear me off even more easily."

“You seem to have more experience, so I’ve come to ask you for some advice. Counselor, or rather… Teacher Liu.”

Xiao Cheng looked at him indifferently.

As soon as she finished speaking, the counselor's face and figure began to slowly change, eventually transforming into the appearance of a middle-aged woman.

Xiao Cheng had seen it in a previous timeline.

"Why don't you stay and keep me company? I'll teach you properly." Teacher Liu forced a formulaic smile.

"Then forget it. After all, it's better to cherish the memory than to meet again." Xiao Cheng shook her head in relief, revealing a smile exactly like hers.
