The beads reflected a faint, blood-red hue. The gardener lowered his hand, letting out a sinister laugh: "You lunatic! I'm going to treat you! Ridiculous mercy! I shouldn't have pitied you in the first place!"
The swarm of insects flapped their wings restlessly, slowly approaching Xiao Cheng, waiting only for the gardener's command to bite through her body. The fleshy growths on their heads writhed slowly, like countless grinning faces.
"Wait! You can't heal me right now!" Xiao Cheng exclaimed, quick-witted. "You want to hear the truth, right? I know! I can tell you the truth!"
"You know that too?" The gardener curled his lip in disbelief and waved for the swarm of insects to move away. "Then tell me, hopefully not with the same boring answer."
"The truth...the truth..." Xiao Cheng's thoughts raced, and a few beads of cold sweat appeared on her forehead. "The previous patients, those patients who committed suicide after being discharged! You didn't cure them at all!"
"Are you questioning my medical skills?!" The gardener raised his hand in a fit of rage, and the swarm of insects instantly stirred, emitting excited hissing sounds.
"Let me finish!" Xiao Cheng stalled for time while trying to find a loophole in the swarm in the darkness. "Those who committed suicide, you buried them under the rose bushes! This is what they mean by 'Some people are lost in the darkness, and I plant flowers for them'!"
"Oh? And then?" The gardener quickly calmed down and smiled, gesturing for Xiao Cheng to continue.
“Then, then…” Xiao Cheng spotted a spot where the insects were relatively sparse and quietly moved towards it.
Just when she thought she had a chance to escape the encirclement, the gardener suddenly realized something, flew into a rage, and reached out to grab her.
Countless insects swarmed toward her, like a cocoon suddenly tightening.
