Chapter 105 Alien Evolution (11)

This zombie was far more dangerous than any she had ever seen before. Alarm bells rang in Xiao Cheng's mind; almost every nerve in her body was screaming for help.

Dodge! Dodge quickly!

That was the only thought in her mind.

But his body seemed to be completely immobilized, unable to move at all. Even the blood in his limbs and bones seemed to have stopped flowing. A chill rose from the soles of his feet and rushed straight to the top of his head.

This is not because of fear.

Xiao Cheng stared in astonishment as the hammer-sized stone hand slammed down on his head.

This is... a zombie's superpower?!

But why do zombies have superpowers?!

The heavy shadow cast by the stone hand enveloped Xiao Cheng completely, and time seemed to stretch on endlessly in that instant.

Xiao Cheng suddenly felt her senses were being enhanced. She could see the shapes of dust particles floating in the air and smell a faint scent of blood drifting from afar.

The noise reached her ears. About a hundred meters away, two players were ambushed by zombies and were using their superpowers to fight back.

Stripped of useless information, the sound of slow cracking of stone echoed around her, along with the faint scraping of bones from zombies moving within the stone, the throbbing of fleshy lumps, and other sounds mixed in with the noise…

Her own heartbeat.

Thump, thump, thump.

With each heartbeat, every blood vessel in her body resonated in unison, and an extremely subtle, burning sensation welled up from the depths of her heart, as if an invisible force was gathering.

Then all the sounds around her vanished, and a sudden silence fell. She clearly heard a sigh, followed by a familiar yet unfamiliar voice.

"Move aside, let me do it."

Xiao Cheng blinked blankly. The moment the voice rang out, the zombie's restraints on her body completely failed.

She felt as if her body was being pulled by someone else, moving spontaneously. Almost all her muscles were used to the extreme, and every movement was completely unexpected. She nimbly and swiftly leaped into the air, using the brief moment of airtime to twist her waist and dodge the stone hand's attack.

The fierce wind of the punch grazed her body, striking the air and making a series of crackling sounds before finally hitting the ground, creating a sizable crater with spiderweb-like cracks spreading rapidly outwards.

Then the entire ground collapsed with a bang, revealing a complex network of underground tunnels and countless fleshy spheres crammed together like quail eggs.

Xiao Cheng felt like she was playing a holographic game, experiencing the thrill of beating up zombies in an immersive way. She never imagined she could be so fast; the scenery before her eyes changed rapidly, dazzling her as if she were teleporting.

From the moment she jumped up, her feet barely touched the ground; for most of the time, she simply used the zombie's stone helmet armor as a stepping stone.

Leaping left and right, she quickly found a gap in the stone helmet armor. The short knife spun twice in the phone, and the tip wedged into the gap in the stone at a tricky angle, then she forcefully flicked it upwards.

The entire rock was pried off, revealing half of the zombie's mutilated ear. After dodging the zombie's furious horizontal slash again, she lightly touched the zombie's arm with her toes, using the momentum to perform a beautiful somersault, and at the same time, she swiftly and cleanly swung out a left whip kick, which slammed heavily into the zombie's side of its face, which was not protected by the rock.

Click.

The zombie's fragile neck flipped completely to one side, only managing to avoid breaking completely thanks to the support of the stone helmet armor.

Click.

Before Xiao Cheng could react to what was happening, a sharp pain shot through her left calf, and she fell heavily to the ground, thankfully avoiding landing on the mass of flesh.

She stared blankly at her rapidly swollen calves.

Holy crap?! It's broken?!

The voice rang out again, sounding fierce but actually weak, as if it were inexplicably guilty: "Tch, what lousy physical fitness, go train some more."

Then it was taken offline completely.

Xiao Cheng: "???" Are you serious?! You've really messed me up!

The zombie only had its neck severed, and its tilted head didn't affect its movement at all. As if provoked, it became even angrier and more agitated, frantically pounding its chest with its stone hands, then raising its large foot and stomping heavily down on Xiao Cheng.

Xiao Cheng's gaze suddenly sharpened, and she dragged her fractured left leg and rolled to the side.

Whether she could roll out of its attack range was entirely up to fate, but unexpectedly, the huge foot landed several meters away from her, right on the pile of flesh, splashing out a large puddle of unidentified liquid.

The zombie was stunned for a long time. Stone Hand gestured left and right in the air for a long time, but he still couldn't figure out why his aim had become so much worse.

Zombies don't have brains and can't think clearly, but Xiao Cheng does. She could tell at a glance that the broken neck was affecting its attack power, and knew that this was the best time to kill it.

Despite the intense pain in her legs, Xiao Cheng bit her lower lip until it bled, and managed to stand up, gripping the hilt of the short knife tightly.

Her back was completely soaked with cold sweat.

Before there was any time to hesitate, the stones beside them began to crumble, and the zombie inside slowly opened its eyes, seemingly not fully awake and somewhat disoriented.

But it's only a matter of time before they all come out. If Xiao Cheng can't completely defeat this armored warrior in the meantime, he can start thinking about how he'll die.

"It doesn't hurt, my leg doesn't hurt..." She took a deep breath and began to convince herself in a trembling voice, "It doesn't hurt at all, how could it be a fracture? It's just a minor scrape!"

Perhaps because her consciousness was too strong, the pain in her legs really did gradually dissipate.

But Xiao Cheng didn't notice any of this. She recalled the feeling of being controlled before, and a strange power suddenly burst out of her body, carrying her to leap upwards. She moved lightly, like a dragonfly skimming the water, and landed next to the zombie's ear.

Then she raised the dagger in her hand high.

The blade gleamed with an eerie, emerald-green light, slicing through the misty air and plunging heavily into the zombie's ear through the broken part of the stone helmet armor, almost disappearing to the root.

The zombie let out a shrill howl and began to shake its head frantically, its heavy stone hands reaching upwards to grab her and throw her down. Xiao Cheng gripped the dagger tightly, nimbly dodging its attacks while twisting the hilt hard until thick, black blood flowed out.

The blade penetrated the zombie's skull at a progressively looser point until it finally emerged diagonally, piercing through the fleshy mass on the back of the zombie's head.
