Chapter 141 Dark Fairy Tale (12)

Upon hearing Fang He's words, the little man hesitated briefly.

"It's possible, but are you really sure you want to do this?" He moved the golden seed in his hand forward a little more. "Are you sure you want to give up this hard-won seed? It's golden, quite rare, you know?"

"It is indeed beautiful, but it's a pity that there's no longer enough water for it to grow properly." Xiao Cheng expressed his sincere regret. "As the great God of Gold Coins, you wouldn't dig such an obvious pit and then wait for us to jump in, would you? After all, that would..."

“That’s utterly despicable, isn’t it?” Fang He then spoke, revealing a smile that wasn’t very warm.

The two of them sang in harmony, and the little man's expression froze for a moment, then immediately returned to normal, as if a frame had been cut.

"Of course, the great god of gold will grant your wish."

He clenched his fist tightly, and with a crisp crack, the golden seed was completely crushed into powder, which leaked through his fingers.

At the same time, a giant white snake descended from the sky, its long tail whipping around and striking the little man, silently crushing him into a pile of minced meat.

Xiao Cheng: "..." It wasn't appropriate to ask him whether he did it on purpose.

The white snake stared blankly at the suddenly changed scene before it for a moment. Fortunately, it still had some sense of reason. Just as its tail was about to swing at Xiao Cheng and Fang He, it stopped abruptly in mid-air and then hesitated before coiling up again.

Its body was still covered in blood, and it was breathing rapidly. Near its seven-inch mark, there was a deep, thin wound, as if it had been cut by a thin rope or something similar.

"you……"

The white snake adjusted its breathing, but instead of transforming back into human form, it lowered its large head and looked down at Xiao Cheng and the others.

"You all hate me so much, so why did you go to such lengths to save me?" Its voice sounded hoarse and trembled slightly, as if it were overwhelmed with emotion. "You even wasted the God of Gold's wish for someone like me..."

Xiao Cheng looked completely bewildered.

It seems that it has misunderstood something.

In the brief half-minute she was distracted, the White Snake had already successfully completed her self-conquest.

"Alright, since you've rescued me from that old bald monk's clutches... I'm a snake that repays kindness, so just say the word, is there anything you need me to do?"

“There just happens to be a small matter that I need to attend to.” Fang He nodded, accepting its gratitude readily. “Please, take us out of here.”

They were lucky; Fahai, eager to find the suddenly vanished white snake, dropped his alms bowl.

The moment the white snake burst out of the black hole, it quickly transformed back into human form. Compared to its previous distorted state, it had recovered considerably, its figure was graceful, and although its features were still somewhat strange, they were in roughly the correct positions.

Rediscovering the feeling of being grounded, Xiao Cheng felt as if she had finally come back to life, gazing with deep emotion at the ancient, shimmering bowl on the ground.

"I never imagined we'd be trapped here for so long."

"Its terrifying aspect lies in its ability to melt a person's consciousness. If it weren't for what happened later... I wouldn't have been able to recover." The white snake showed a lingering fear.

Xiao Cheng now understands that whether it's the dwarfs, the scorpion demon, or the snake demon, they are all manifestations of the White Snake's fragmented consciousness.

If nothing unexpected happens, the giant and the fat family should be in the same situation, but unfortunately they are already dead, and we don't know which unlucky soul's consciousness it is.

"After I've rested for a while, I still need to go find that old bald monk." The white snake's face showed a resentful expression. "I have to find out where Grandpa is. So... so you should leave as soon as possible."

The white snake didn't linger there for long; soon, clutching her bleeding wound, she walked away step by step.

"Let's go, stop looking." Fang He tapped Xiao Cheng's shoulder, drawing her attention back. "If Fahai comes back and stuffs us into the alms bowl again, there won't be a second God of Gold Coins, nor a second White Snake."

But in reality, they didn't have a clear direction.

This is a wasteland, barren of vegetation, and there is little difference in any direction you look.

The sky was overcast, with thick clouds piled up, as if it was about to rain, giving people an extremely oppressive feeling.

"But where do we go next?" Xiao Cheng looked around blankly. "This dungeon doesn't provide any clear information. How do we even know when we've cleared it?"

"If you don't know which way to go, just flip a coin." Fang He had no clue either, so he casually took out a gold coin from his pocket.

Xiao Cheng was shocked: "When did you find that?"

"I don't remember, I forgot." Fang He shook his head, tossed the gold coin high into the air, and watched it slowly fall to the ground. "Heads, then let's move forward."

He picked up the gold coins and put them back in his pocket.

Xiao Cheng: "..." Isn't this a bit too casual?

But perhaps it was due to the remaining protection of the God of Gold, or perhaps Fang He's luck was simply too good to be true.

They hadn't gone far when they encountered a troop of fully armed privates. The tall officer at the head, carrying a sharp spear, stopped in front of them, looked them up and down for a moment, and then waved his hand dismissively.

The heavy armor clanged with cold metallic sounds as he moved.

"Take them away." The officer's voice was equally cold. "They have a different aura about them; they are the guests the princess wants."
